Background: Subcallosal artery infarction injures the fornix and anterior corpus callosum and sometimes causes Korsakoff’s amnesia. We hypothesized that Korsakoff’s amnesia might be caused by fornix dysfunction rather than anterior corpus callosum dysfunction in subcallosal artery infarction. Methods: A systematic review approach was applied to search PubMed and Google Scholar for articles to compare patients who had both bilateral fornix and corpus callosum infarction due to subcallosal artery territory ischemia (vascular event group; V group) with patients who had undergone anterior corpus callosotomy (callosotomy group; C group). Results: The V group comprised 10 patients (mean age, 63 years; median, 69 years; standard deviation (SD), 14.5 years; 5 males, 5 females). The C group comprised 6 patients (mean age, 23.7 years; median, 20 years; SD, 7.3 years; 3 males, 3 females). Six of 10 patients (60%) with subcallosal artery infarction exhibited Korsakoff’s amnesia. One patient showed neither confabulation nor amnesia. Conversely, no amnesia episodes were seen in any patients from the C group (p = 0.034). Conclusion: Fornix injury, rather than anterior corpus callosum injury, might be the major cause of Korsakoff’s amnesia in patients with subcallosal artery infarction.

Background: Natural products are commonly used for treating health problems. These products may be associated with adverse events, which are defined as "noxious and unintended response to a medicinal product" by the European Medicine Agency. Objectives: To identify studies describing at least one adverse event (or with potential to promote an adverse event) related to the use of natural products, as well as to describe the involved product(s) and adverse event(s). Methods: A pre-systematic review following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses criteria. Keywords: "natural product(s)" and ["adverse drug reaction(s)" or "adverse effect(s)"]. Screened databases: PubMed, SciELO, DOAJ and Google Scholar. Inclusion criteria: papers describing at least one adverse event associated with the use of natural products and published between 2017 and 2019. Exclusion criteria: Repeated studies, reviews and papers written in other languages than English, Portuguese, French or Spanish. Results: 104 studies were identified (20 PubMed; 0 SciELO; 2 DOAJ; 82 Google Scholar), but only 10 were selected (4 PubMed and 6 Google Scholar): 1 in-vitro study; 2 non-clinical studies, 1 study reporting in-vitro and clinical data and 5 studies were cases reports. Globally, 997 reports of adverse drug reactions with natural products were identified, mainly non-severe cases. Conclusion: Since a limited number of studies was found, we conclude that adverse events due to natural products may be underreported, or natural products may have a good safety profile. This review contributes for assuring the safety of natural products consumers, by evaluating the knowledge/information on the potential adverse events and interactions of these products.

Introduction: In Indonesia, the incidence of dysmenorrhea is 64.25% consisting of primary dysmenorrhea amounted to 54.89% and secondary dysmenorrhea of 9.36%. Some women experienced menstrual pain or cramps, also known as dysmenorrhea. The purpose of this research was to find out the effect of abdominal massage effleurage on decreasing the pain scale of primary dysmenorrhea. Method: Systematic review using the database: Google Scholar. The search results that meet the criteria were then analyzed for articles. Result: Primary dysmenorrhea pain could be relieved by massage techniques such as abdominal effleurage massage. Conclusion: To deal with dysmenorrhea pain, it is advisable for young women not to consume it immediately pharmacological drugs but using massage therapy such as massage effleurage abdomen.

Background: The data on neurological manifestations in COVID-19 patients has been rapidly increasing throughout the pandemic. However, data on CNS and PNS inflammatory disorders in COVID-19 with respect to CSF, serum and neuroimaging markers is still lacking. Methods: We screened all articles resulting from a search of PubMed, Google Scholar and Scopus, using the keywords “SARS-CoV-2 and neurological complication”, “SARS-CoV-2 and CNS Complication” and “SARS-CoV-2 and PNS Complication” looking for transverse myelitis, vasculitis, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, acute hemorrhagic necrotizing encephalitis (AHNE), cytotoxic lesion of the corpus callosum (CLOCC) and Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), published between 1 December 2019 to 15 July 2021. Results: Of the included 106 CNS manifestations in our study, CNS inflammatory disorders included transverse myelitis (17, 14.7%), AHNE (12, 10.4%), ADEM (11, 9.5%), CLOCC/MERS (10, 8.6%) and vasculitis (4, 3.4%). Others were nonspecific encephalopathy, encephalitis, seizures and stroke. Most patients were >50 years old (75, 70.8%) and male (64, 65.3%). Most (59, 63.4%) were severe cases of COVID-19 and 18 (18%) patients died. Of the included 94 PNS manifestations in our study, GBS (89, 92.7%) was the most common. Most of these patients were >50 years old (73, 77.7%) and male (59, 64.1%). Most (62, 67.4%) were non-severe cases of COVID-19, and ten patients died. Conclusion: Our comprehensive review of the clinical and paraclinical findings in CNS and PNS manifestations of COVID-19 provide insights on the pathophysiology of SARS-CoV-2 and its neurotropism. The higher frequency and severity of CNS manifestations should be noted by physicians for increased vigilance in particular COVID-19 cases.

Financial hardship is a phenomenon which mediates many other factors in life regardless of age group one of many is well-being. Well-being is a multi-disciplinary term. This paper will investigate existing literature on the effect of financial hardship on well-being using systematic review to minimize the biases. The data will be systematically searched with following databases: Wiley-online library, Google scholar, JSTOR, Tandfonline and Emerald. The present study is a systematic review of English language research of 2010 to 2020 research papers on financial hardship and well-being. The databases used in the research are Wiley Online Library, Google Scholar with keywords financial hardship, financial pressure, financial challenges, stress, wellbeing, anxiety, psychological well-being. 81 studies were excluded and 12 studies were selected after reviewing the title and abstract of 93 studies based on the PRISMA. The inclusion and exclusion criteria allow studies of 2010 to 2021 to be considered. Fewer data was present in the subject of wellbeing and financial stress. However, the results show impact of both variables. Financial pressure leads to poor wellbeing and other factors such as lack of social support, unhealthy family environment and dept can robust the impact. The research makes a unique new contribution in research, lending support for policy, academic theory, new contributions to current literature not found elsewhere, especially mental health management policy.

Peran dan fungsi care provider  interdisiplin dalam pelayanan kesehatan masih terfragmentasi sehingga pelayanan kesehatan interdisiplin yang diberikan kepada pasien menjadi tumpang tindih.  Fragmentasi interdisiplin dapat diatasi melalui Interprofessional collaborative practice (ICP). Kolaborasi yang baik diantara tim profesional kesehatan sangat diperlukan, agar dapat bertukar informasi dengan jelas dan komprehensif. Kompetensi inti dalam Interprofessional collaborative practice (ICP) adalah komunikasi interprofesional yang efektif. Tujuan dari systematic review ini untuk mengetahui apakah ICP dapat meningkatkan kemampuan tenaga kesehatan dalam melakukan komunikasi interprofesional. Metode yang digunakan Systematic review dengan cara melakukan penelusuran literature data base dari Ebscho, Sciendirect, PubMed dan Google scholar dengan menggunakan advanced search keyword. Kata kunci yang dipilih adalah Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (ICP), Communication Interprofessional, health workers. Pencarian dibatasi pada tahun 2006 – 2016, pdf full text dan menggunakan bahasa inggris. Kriteria inklusi dari artikel, ini yaitu responden : tenaga kesehatan, intervensi yang digunakan Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (ICP), outcome yang diukur adalah kemampuan komunikasi interprofesional tenaga kesehatan. Didapatkan 6 artikel yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi, ke 6 artikel ini dilakukan review. Hasil : masing masing artikel memberikan outcome terhadap peningkatan komunikasi interprofesional dan 2 artikel menghasilkan 3 tema. ICP secara efektif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan tenaga kesehatan dalam melakukan komunikasi interprofesional. Diharapkan pimpinan rumah sakit dapat membuat kebijakan khusus terkait pelaksanaan ICP dan merancang model pelaksanaan ICP yang melibatkan semua profesi kesehatan agar dapat diaplikasikan di pelayanan kesehatan sebagai upaya pengembangan komunikasi interprofesional yang efektif serta meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan kesehatan yang bermutu sehingga peran profesional setiap disiplin berjalan dengan baik.

Incisura fibularis (IF) is an important landmark in assessing syndesmotic stability radiologically postinjury. The purpose of this review was to explore the anatomy and morphometrics of this widely used anatomical landmark and to further the understanding of the same. A systematic review was conducted online using PubMed and Google Scholar, per PRISMA guidelines. Predefined eligibility criteria were applied, and the data thus compiled were analyzed. Wide variability in morphometrics and, thus, anatomy of IF were observed in the present review, which was influenced by gender. There was no side-to-side variability seen in this study. The study stresses the need to consider the anatomical and gender-based variability while assessing syndesmotic stability and further supports the recommendation of side-to-side comparison. Sex dimorphism occurs when group means differ by four or more standard deviations. However, the average size of the corpus callosum is greater in males by about one standard deviation in rats, 0.2 standard deviation in humans, and virtually zero in mice. Furthermore, variations in corpus callosum size are related to brain size and are not sex specific.

Abstract There is increasing interest in staged corpus callosotomy for intractable generalized epilepsy. At the first procedure, a portion (usually the anterior two-thirds) of the corpus callosum is sectioned. If seizures persist, completion of callosotomy or alternative treatment approaches can be considered. It is obviously important to ascertain that the desired extent of callosotomy was in fact accomplished at the time of initial operation. Our experience and the published literature indicate that the surgeon's impression at operation can be erroneous. We describe a technique of determining extent of corpus callosotomy during the procedure. The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan in the midsagittal plane is used to select the desired extent of callosotomy. That point on the corpus callosum is characterized using simple planar geometry in relation to three anatomic landmarks in that same plane: the glabella, the inion, and the bregma (midline intersection of the coronal suture). The same point along the corpus callosum can then be located on a lateral skull xray using these same three anatomic landmarks. At surgery, an intraoperative lateral skull x-ray is obtained with a marking clip, thereby verifying the actual extent of callosotomy. We have verified the reliability of this scheme in 5 callosotomy procedures and have used this technique for intraoperative localization of midline and parasagittal targets in another 7 cases (3 tumors, 2 aneurysms, and 2 placements of interhemispheric subdural grids). In addition, we reviewed corpus callosum topography on 25 randomly selected MRI scans. A perpendicular line bisecting the glabellainion line intersects the corpus callosum at a point near its two-thirds extent in every case. This allows a quick determination of the approximate two-thirds point along the corpus callosum by skull x-ray alone, without the need of an MRI scan. The use of the new technique and its simple modification for the two-thirds callosotomy allows a precise determination of the extent of corpus callosum section at surgery and should avoid unintended deviations from the desired procedure. Using the AdaBoost method may increase the accuracy and reliability of a framework for daily activities and environment recognition. Mobile devices have several types of sensors, including motion, magnetic, and location sensors, that allow accurate identification of daily activities and environment. This paper focuses on the review of the studies that use the AdaBoost method with the sensors available in mobile devices. This research identified the research works written in English about the recognition of daily activities and environment recognition using the AdaBoost method with the data obtained from the sensors available in mobile devices that were published between 2012 and 2018. Thus, 13 studies were selected and analysed from 151 identified records in the searched databases. The results proved the reliability of the method for daily activities and environment recognition, highlighting the use of several features, including the mean, standard deviation, pitch, roll, azimuth, and median absolute deviation of the signal of motion sensors, and the mean of the signal of magnetic sensors. When reported, the analysed studies presented an accuracy higher than 80% in recognition of daily activities and environments with the Adaboost method.
