Abstract Background Scientists created a new area known as "green nanotechnology" by combining the concept of sustainability with nanotechnology. Its goal is to eliminate the use of chemicals in nanoparticle manufacturing by replacing them with plant-based materials. Green synthesis is promoted as the best alternative to the traditional method of nanoparticle synthesis in this new domain. Plants that constitute a major portion of our biodiversity are embraced with inherent potentiality to be transformed as miracle medicine due to its phytochemicals. These phytochemicals efficiently replace the classical wet chemical ingredients involved in nanoparticle synthesis by upgrading to greener method for its synthesis. By incorporating plant-based sources as the chief ingredient of nanoparticle synthesis, we are able to reduce the hazards of greenhouse gas emissions and enlighten the insights of our scientific community with nanotechnology for green innovation. Hence, this review simultaneously aims at promoting plant extracts as the most efficient as well as renewable recipe for green synthesis of silver nanoparticles and preparing earth for a greener tomorrow. Methodology Scientific articles and publications were selected from reputed journals and sorted out with pertinent keywords of this review. Electronic sources like Google Scholar, PubMed, Research Gate, Science Direct, Wiley Online Library, Web of Science and Scopus were searched for potential articles and recent breakthroughs published in the area of silver nanoparticle synthesis via green chemistry and biological methods using plant extracts. Scientific names of medicinal plants were checked using botanical databases like Plant List and International Plant Names Index. Conclusion This review pinpoints on empowering better life on earth by protecting it from hazardous effects of conventional nanotechnological production through replacing the former with sustainable green synthesis approach. Ergo, it outlines that by incorporating plant-based sources as the chief ingredient of nanoparticle synthesis, we are able to reduce the hazards of greenhouse gas emissions in turn by slowing down increasing climate change disasters globally and enlighten the insights of our scientific community with nanotechnology for green innovation.

A New Family of Valid-Inequalities for Dantzig-Wolfe Reformulation of Mixed Integer Linear Programs In “Consistency Cuts for Dantzig-Wolfe Reformulation,” Jens Vinther Clausen, Richard Lusby, and Stefan Ropke present a new family of valid inequalities to be applied to Dantzig-Wolfe reformulations with binary linking variables. They show that, for Dantzig-Wolfe reformulations of mixed integer linear programs that satisfy certain properties, it is enough to solve the linear programming relaxation of the Dantzig-Wolfe reformulation with all consistency cuts to obtain integer solutions. An example of this is the temporal knapsack problem; the effectiveness of the cuts is tested on a set of 200 instances of this problem, and the results are state-of-the-art solution times. For problems that do not satisfy these conditions, the cuts can still be used in a branch-and-cut-and-price framework. In order to show this, the cuts are applied to a set of generic mixed linear integer programs from the online library MIPLIB. These tests show the applicability of the cuts in general.

Jatrorrhizine, an isoquinoline alkaloid, is a bioactive metabolite in common medicinal plants, such as Berberis vernae Schneid., Tinospora sagittata (Oliv.) Gagnep. and Coptis chinensis Franch. These plants have been used for centuries in traditional medicine for their wide-ranging pharmacological properties. This review emphasizes the latest and comprehensive information on the sources, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and toxicity of jatrorrhizine. Studies on this alkaloid were collected from scientific internet databases, including the Web of Science, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley Online Library and Europe PMC and CNKI, using a combination of keywords involving “jatrorrhizine”, “sources”, “pharmacology,” “pharmacokinetics,” and “toxicology”. Jatrorrhizine exhibits anti-diabetic, antimicrobial, antiprotozoal, anticancer, anti-obesity and hypolipidemic properties, along with central nervous system activities and other beneficial activity. Studies of jatrorrhizine have laid the foundation for its application to the treatment of various diseases, but some issues still exist. Further investigations might emphasize 1) specific curative mechanisms of jatrorrhizine and clinical utility, 2) application prospect in the treatment of metabolic disorders, 3) comprehensive investigations of the toxicity mechanisms and 4) interactions of jatrorrhizine with other pharmaceuticals and development of derivatives.

Abstract Background The global research shows that people suffer from a variety of sleep disorders and human actions are the result of neuronal function inside his brain, the feedback of this function can be received and processed as a signal emitted from the surface of the skull. EEG device can receive and record brain signals. Researchers have used a variety of methods to obtain and pre-process signals, extract and reduce the characteristics and types of classifiers in various studies. Research shows that there are three general states of wakefulness (stage 1 + REM sleep) and (stage 2 + deep sleep) separated by the EEG signal. Methods The study was performed in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines. A total of 740 articles were found from scientific literature databases (PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science and Wiley Online Library ). After all exclusions, a final total of 64 articles were included in this review. The randomized controlled trials that have assessed at least one therapeutic outcome measured before and after intervention were included in the final analysis. Results A total of 64 studies were identified at the screening step. In the identification phase, total of 11 records were excluded from the further assessment and 53 records were entered into the screening phase in which Clinical Trial, Review, Books, Editorial were excluded from the review. In the eligibility stage, 49 records remained in the study where total of 34 studies were included for detailed review. Due to the heterogeneities in the available variables as well as the target aspects, the authors decided to review the studies comprehensively. Conclusions However, due to some concerns about its effectiveness, more targeted experiments are needed to identify more accurate targets and pathways responsible for the metabolism of its brain signals.

Cada vez son más los trabajos que analizan la relación de los niveles séricos de vitamina D y el desarrollo de sensibilizaciones y enfermedades alérgicas en los individuos con predisposición genética, así como el impacto de su suplementación. El presente artículo efectúa una revisión de la literatura acerca de este tema. Se incluyeron ensayos clínicos, metaanálisis y revisiones sistemáticas consultadas en PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, Ovid, Wiley Online Library, Springer, Cochrane y recursos manuales, con las palabras clave: vitamina D, 25 hidroxivitamina D, colecalciferol, asma, rinitis, alergia, 25-OH-D, 1,25 hidroxivitamina D, suplementación. Los resultados muestran una tendencia lineal positiva; sin embargo, algunos difieren. Debemos tener en mente que en los estudios existe heterogeneidad de los grupos poblacionales y los factores asociados, lo que puede modificarlos. Es necesario incrementar las investigaciones para clarificar esta relación y tener intervenciones exitosas desde el abordaje del paciente hasta el fortalecimiento del tratamiento farmacológico e inmunológico de los pacientes alérgicos con estas enfermedades.

Abstract Background Preterm infants have higher nutrition needs than term infants. The effectiveness of various feeding supplementation was assessed by the improvement of health outcomes in single specific systematic reviews (SRs). The aim of this review was to comprehensively describe the effectiveness of feeding supplementation in promoting health outcomes of preterm infants. Methods A literature search was conducted in the PUBMED, EMBASE, Science Direct, Cochrane library, Web of Science, and Wiley online library. SRs selection followed clear inclusion and exclusion criteria. Pairs of reviewers independently applied the criteria to both titles/abstracts and full texts. Screening and data extraction were performed by using the advanced tables. The methodological quality of SRs and the quality of the evidence were carried out according to the Assessing the Methodological Quality of Systematic Reviews (AMSTAR) tool and the Grades of Recommendation, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation guidelines (GRADE) respectively. A qualitative synthesis of evidence is presented. Results Seventeen SRs were included in the review. Fifteen kinds of feeding supplementation were reported in the SRs. In preterm infants, the effectiveness of feeding supplementation in addition to regular breast-feeding was mainly shown in six aspects: physical health, neurodevelopment, biochemical outcomes, other health outcomes, morbidity and all-cause mortality. And the effectiveness of the interventions on health outcomes in preterm infants was found by most systematic reviews. The methodological quality of all the included SRs was high, and most of the evidences was of low or very low quality. Conclusions Our results will allow a better understanding of the feeding supplementation in preterm infants. Although the feeling supplements may improve the health outcomes of in preterm infants, the existing evidence is uncertain. Therefore, the clinical use of these supplements should be considered cautiously and more well-designed RCTs are still needed to further address the unsolved problems of the included SRs.

ABSTRACT Objective: to identify the main biosafety measures for preventing COVID-19 in healthcare professionals. Methods: this is an integrative literature review, with studies published between January and July 2020, on the MEDLINE/PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Web of Science, LILACS, SciELo, Wiley Online Library, Cochrane CINAHL databases. The selection of studies followed the PRISMA recommendations. Results: among the 2,208 publications identified, 12 studies comprised the sample, which enabled the analysis in four thematic categories: The importance of using recommendations about the use of personal protective equipment; The restructuring of new operational and clinical routines and flows in the practice of services; Monitoring professionals, especially testing; Conducting training. Conclusions: the phenomena involved are innumerable, covering operational management and the training of teams to deal with highly infectious pathogens and disease outbreaks.

This chapter examines the Archive of Our Own (AO3) tagging system and backend design to determine how its successful elements can be implemented in a secondary school library setting. Specifically, it looks at social tagging on the platform to evaluate how effective a collaborative tag-based search system could be as a supplement to a traditional school library catalog. The author conducted field research and created an online library tagging template for school use. Google Forms are also used to generate content for the platform, which is designed for both librarian and student user groups. This work was carried out throughout the 2019-2020 school year. The author found that community care, subject knowledge, and “tag wrangling” are the key elements of the AO3 that can potentially be leveraged in a secondary school library environment to promote student engagement and reading for pleasure.

There is an urgent increase of health care needs for cancer survivor nowadays caused by the escalations of global cancer survivor’s unmet need for cancer care health services. The purpose of this literature study was to identify the gynecology cancer survivor’s unmet need of health care services. A literature search was PRISMA for relevant research paper. Six database were searched: Proquest, Elsevier, Spinger, Wiley Online Library, and Google Scholar using keyword: “CaSUN”, “SCNS-SF34”, “Unmet need”,” Survivor cancer”, “Supportive care”, Cancer Gynecological”. The final review included 9 articles from 993 article that being identified from 2015 – 2020. The result of this study was minimum 1 unmet need found in every gynecology cancer survivor, psychological needs and information on health services, physical and sexual needs.


Objective. As the world continuously grapples with the massive impact of COVID-19 pandemic on all domains of life, higher education institutions (HEIs) are at the forefront of reshaping and redefining their operations, mostly transitioning into online delivery of services where libraries are not exempted. The way libraries around the globe continue to face their mandate of providing knowledge resources merits research attention, especially in the context of the present health crisis. This study aimed at identifying the challenges and strategies of academic libraries during COVID-19 crisis among member schools of NOCEI, a consortium of higher educational institutions in Region IV-A (CALABARZON), Philippines. Methods. Descriptive in nature, the study utilized online survey which was accomplished by 31 head librarians from the said organization. Results. Findings revealed that barriers on transformation from physical collections to digital format, reduced budget cuts and decrease in purchasing and usage of print and physical materials are the top challenges encountered while there was a strong agreement on strategies utilized primarily on the availability of various online library services for clients and assistance through the Ask a Librarian chat service where students have access to librarian’s help in real-time through virtual chat. Conclusions. As a whole, results implicate the need for HEIs to ensure sustainability of library services during and beyond the pandemic, highlighting various measures that would respond to the ever changing landscape of education and knowledge sharing.
