Increased consumer requirements for quality, safety and traceability of goods in supply chains has accelerated the implementation of blockchain during the COVID-19 pandemic. The right choice of blockchain software is a complicated task and an important prerequisite for successful deployment. In this study, we propose a conceptual framework for group multi-criteria selection of blockchain software in fuzzy environment according to organization needs and experts’ judgements. The applicability of the new framework has been verified through an illustrative example for ranking blockchain systems. The evaluations of compared alternatives were calculated by using measurement of alternatives and ranking according to the compromise solution (MARCOS) method. The robustness of the new framework was proven by sensitivity analysis in which two (crisp and fuzzy) MARCOS models with two different sets of weighting coefficients were compared.

The paper presents a hybrid model based on the LBWA method and the fuzzy MABAC method, applied when selecting firing positions' locations of the Serbian Army's mortar units. Using a questionnaire, the experts determined the criteria for choosing the firing position. The LBWA method is used to determine the weighting coefficients of the criteria, while the fuzzy MABAC method is used to determine the most favorable location of the firing position by choosing between six specific options - alternatives. By changing the value of the elasticity coefficients, the sensitivity analysis of the developed model was performed, and by applying the Spearman coefficient, it was determined that there is an ideal positive correlation of ranks.

The management of manufacturing companies faces a number of decisions, and one of the most important is the selection of distribution channels. A large number of these companies do not sell their products directly to end consumers. For this reason, there are marketing intermediaries between manufacturers and end consumers whose primary function is to connect manufacturers and consumers. Their task is to provide the goods from manufacturers to consumers with the satisfaction of logistics characteristics: at the right time, at the right place and in a form that is convenient to use, and certainly with minimal costs. Distribution is one of four marketing mix instruments without which the optimal combination of the instruments would not be obtained. Thus, the decision on selecting distribution channels is as important as the decisions regarding products, prices and promotion. Based on the set criteria and the evaluation of certain distribution channels by the criteria, the management of the company will be able to make the best decision. The evaluation of distribution channels based on the set criteria was performed by marketing experts and experts in certain markets using an integrated multi-criteria model. The FUCOM method was applied to determine the significance of the criteria, and then the distribution channels were evaluated by applying the new MARCOS method. Thereafter, a sensitivity analysis was performed using other MCDM methods to verify the results previously obtained.

Separation in microfluidic devices is a crucial enabling step for many industrial, biomedical, clinical or chemical applications. Acoustic methods offer contactless, biocompatible, scalable sorting with high degree of reconfigurability and are therefore favored techniques. The literature reports on various techniques to achieve particle separation, but these do not investigate the sensitivity of these methods or are difficult to compare due to the lack of figures of merit. In this paper, we present analytical and numerical sensitivity analysis of the time-of-flight and a phase-modulated sorting scheme against various extrinsic and intrinsic properties. The results reveal great robustness of the phase-modulated sorting method against variations of the flow rate or acoustic energy density, while the time-of-flight method shows lower efficiency drop against size and density variations. The results presented in this paper provide a better understanding of the two sorting methods and offer advice on the selection of the right technique for a given sorting application.

The development of competency frameworks in healthcare professions is characterised by potentially inadequate descriptions of practice, variable developmental approaches, and inconsistent reporting and evaluating of outcomes. This may be in part due to limited existing guidance, which neglects broader contexts, lacks organising frameworks, and fails to provide guidance on selection of methods. To address such concerns, this paper first outlines a ‘systems thinking’ conceptual framework by which to conceptualise and describe clinical practice when developing competency frameworks. This is achieved through combining Ecological Systems Theory and complexity thinking to identify, and explore the contexts and components of clinical practice. The ‘systems thinking’ conceptual framework is then integrated into a six-step model for developing competency frameworks that synthesises and organises existing advice. The six steps include (1) identify practicalities (e.g. purpose, scope, detail, timeline), (2) identify influencing contexts and factors using ‘systems thinking’, (3) use aligned mixed-methods, (4) translate data into competency frameworks, (5) report processes and outcomes, and (6) plan to evaluate, update and maintain the competency framework. The model provides a logical organising structure of principles to guide assumptions and commitments when developing competency frameworks. Additionally, the model affords the flexibility required when exploring professional practice across varying contexts, and suggests employing mixed methodological approaches that are aligned with purpose and scope. The model acknowledges changing and complex contexts, considers existing guidance, and adds a unique and complementary means to conceptualise and improve the competency framework development process.

The purpose of this research is to build a decision support system that can be used by schools in the selection of scholarship recipients, which requires completion, as decision support with multicriteria is the VIKOR method. The basic concept of the VIKOR method is to determine the ranking of the existing samples. This study aims to apply the VIKOR method to the selection of scholarship recipients that can be used to assist the student section in determining the recommendation for scholarship acceptance at SMK TPI AL-HASANNAH Pematang Bandar by considering various predetermined criteria. The criteria used in this study are value, parent's income, parent's dependents, number of siblings. The results show that the VIKOR method can be used to assist the selection process and determine the right scholarship recipient. In the VIKOR method, each weight given shows the same results, so that it can be used as a compromise solution in dealing with multicriteria problems.

Selecting check index quantitatively is the core of the calibration of micro traffic simulation parameters at signal intersection. Five indexes in the node (intersection) module of VISSIM were selected as the check index set. Twelve simulation parameters in the core module were selected as the simulation parameters set. Optimal process of parameter calibration was proposed and model of the intersection of Huangcun west street and Xinghua street in Beijing was built in VISSIM to verify it. The sensitivity analysis between each check index and simulation parameter in their own set was conducted respectively. Sensitive parameter sets of different check indices were obtained and compared. The results show that different indexes have different size of set, and average vehicle delay's is maximum, so it's necessary to select index quantitatively. The results can provide references for scientific selection of the check indexes and improve the study efficiency of parameter calibration.

The study deals with 16th and 17th century Hungarian printed polemical works considering religious disputes a typical form of communication in the age of Reformation and Catholic renewal. Its conceptual framework is the paradigm or research method of the long Reformation as an efficient assistance to the discovery and appreciation of early modern theological-religious diversity. The analysis examines several kinds of communication which occurs in the (religious) dispute, and explores the rules and conventions along which the (verbal) fighting takes place. Research shows that the opponents repeatedly refer to the rules of dialectics refuting each other’s standpoints accusing them of faulty argumentation, i.e., the wrong use of syllogisms. Dialectics is, namely, in this context not the ars with the help of which truth is found but with which evident truth is checked and justified in a way that the opponents can also be educated to follow the right direction.

This article attempts to investigate certain problematic aspects of the institution of the victim in the Russian criminal process. For this purpose, analyzed the individual norms governing his procedural status. Separate gaps of the criminal procedure legislation in the sphere of protection of the legal rights and interests of the victim are disclosed. The author emphasizes that the improvement of the criminal procedure legislation in terms of the extension of the victim’s authority to defend his rights violated by the crime should be continued. On the basis of the study of the current legislation regarding the regulation of the rights of the victim of a crime, it is proposed to expand the list of decisions received by him, referred to in paragraph 13, part 2 of article 42 Code of Criminal Procedure. The author proposes to include in the list of the indicated legislative norm the right to receive the victim a copy of the decision on the selection of a specific type of preventive measure, selected in relation to the suspect (accused). To create an effective mechanism for protecting the interests of legal entities victims of a crime, we offer part 9 of art. 42 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation shall be reworded as follows: «if a legal entity is recognized as a victim, his procedural right in criminal proceedings is exercised by the professional lawyer representing him».

For 30 years, forage ryegrass breeding has known that the germplasm may contain a maternally inherited symbiotic Epichloë endophyte. These endophytes produce a suite of secondary alkaloid compounds, dependent upon strain. Many produce ergot and other alkaloids, which are associated with both insect deterrence and livestock health issues. The levels of alkaloids and other endophyte characteristics are influenced by strain, host germplasm, and environmental conditions. Some strains in the right host germplasm can confer an advantage over biotic and abiotic stressors, thus acting as a maternally inherited desirable ‘trait’. Through seed production, these mutualistic endophytes do not transmit into 100% of the crop seed and are less vigorous than the grass seed itself. This causes stability and longevity issues for seed production and storage should the ‘trait’ be desired in the germplasm. This makes understanding the precise nature of the relationship vitally important to the plant breeder. These Epichloë endophytes cannot be ‘bred’ in the conventional sense, as they are asexual. Instead, the breeder may modulate endophyte characteristics through selection of host germplasm, a sort of breeding by proxy. This article explores, from a forage seed company perspective, the issues that endophyte characteristics and breeding them by proxy have on ryegrass breeding, and outlines the methods used to assess the ‘trait’, and the application of these through the breeding, production, and deployment processes. Finally, this article investigates opportunities for enhancing the utilisation of alkaloid-producing endophytes within pastures, with a focus on balancing alkaloid levels to further enhance pest deterrence and improving livestock outcomes.

The purpose of this course is to introduce a new framework linking the humanities to public policy analysis as pursued in the government and the academy. Current efforts to link the particular contributions from the humanities to problems of public policy choice are often narrow either in terms of their perspective on the humanities or in terms of their selection of the possible means of influencing policy choice. Sometimes a single text from one of the humanities disciplines is selected to apply to a particular issue. At other times, arguments about the ethical dimensions of a single policy issue often are pursued with a single — or sometimes, no — point of access to the policy process in mind.
