The answers to extreme phenomena both in nature and in business sectors are the constructions of the distribution of random variables with extreme values. Another area in which appropriate theoretical research is conducted regarding the influence of suppressor (third) variables in categorical data. When examining dependencies in PivotTables, we often find it necessary to merge data into larger sets (e.g., due to a greater number of theoretical frequencies lower than their critical value). A phenomenon many exist wherein the partial relation is stronger than the zero relation. For example, in such a combination, instability may occur, which indicates contingent subgroups with the merged group. The dependence of dependencies is practically manifested because the data of contingent subgroups indicate inconsistent (inverted) conclusions compared to the associated group. For this reason, this paper aimed to find the critical ratios of partial probabilities in the contingency table of subgroups of the original variables, and to determine the conditions of result consistency and contingency stability, including the proof. For practical use and for the ease of repeating the proposed procedure, the solution is based on a case study that compares the effectiveness of vaccination.

The probability theory using fuzzy random variables has applications in several scientific disciplines. These are mainly technical in scope, such as in the automotive industry and in consumer electronics, for example, in washing machines, televisions, and microwaves. The theory is gradually entering the domain of finance where people work with incomplete data. We often find that events in the financial markets cannot be described precisely, and this is where we can use fuzzy random variables. By proving the validity of the theorem on extreme values of fuzzy quantum space in our article, we see possible applications for estimating financial risks with incomplete data.

BACKGROUND: This study builds on the little guidance in the existing literature to analyze the relationship between employee-oriented CSR actions and employee retention in a business context, while using Freeman stakeholders’ model as a theoretical research framework. This research also aims to shed light on significant behavioral factors facilitating the relationship between CSR endeavors and turnover rate. OBJECTIVE: This paper builds on the existing research gap in the literature and suggests that behavioral factors, including job satisfaction, organizational identification, and motivation facilitate the relationship between employee-oriented CSR actions and employee retention, which contributes to laying the foundations of a theoretical framework that has the potential to advance both theoretical and practitioner debates and disentangle the complexity of such a relationship, while offering strategically-focused development venues in CSR and HRM fields. METHODS: This research uses a single case study design to ensure an in-depth and detailed analysis of the phenomenon under scrutiny, while relying on a triangulation methodology for data collection, including a questionnaire used as exploratory approach, interviews to generate explanatory data, and archival data to bring confirmatory insights. Data analysis followed the procedures of a deductive approach. RESULTS: The research results show a positive relationship between employee-oriented CSR actions and employee retention, while demonstrating the facilitating role of job satisfaction, organizational identification, and motivation in moderating such a relationship. The findings also stress the importance of framing CSR interventions within the organization’s strategy and goals, while ensuring employee participation in such decision making processes to maximize the effect of CSR interventions on employee commitment and reduce turnover. CONCLUSIONS: This research has the potential to better clarify the nature of the relationship involving CSR interventions, from an employee perspective, retention, and turnover, while laying the foundations of a theoretical framework linking such constructs and other behavioral factors that underpin and support such a relationship. Building on the study’s findings and assumptions, future research is needed to gain a more comprehensive understanding of how HR-related CSR actions affect behavioral performance dimensions, resulting in employee commitment and retention. Future research should also consider multiple case study, multicultural, and ethnographic approaches for the sake of generalizability and theory building.

Mineral mining in rockburst-hazardous conditions should involve various precautions in compliance with federal regulations and standards. One of the main methods to prevent rock bursts is destressing drilling. In this method, a yielding zone is artificially created. The strength and deformation characteristics in this zone differ from the same characteristics of enclosing rock mass, and redistribution of stresses takes place as a result. Efficiency of destressing drilling is estimated in terms of ore body S-2 in Komsomolsky Mine. The efficiency criterion is selected to be the safety factor of rock mass with and without destressing drilling. Low efficiency of destressing drilling means that this method is readily replaceable by the other techniques of lesser labor input, for example, by reduction in the rate of mining, or by seasoning of underground excavations for some time required for redistribution of stresses to take place. Based on the theoretical research and the conclusions drawn at NorNickel’s Polar Division, the full-scale tests are scheduled for the implementation in order to gradually abandon destessing drilling in rockburst-hazardous Talnakh and Oktyabrsky ore fields. While physical realization of practical large-scale quantum computers is still ongoing, theoretical research of quantum computing applications is facilitated on classical computing platforms through simulation and emulation methods. Nevertheless, the exponential increase in resource requirement with the increase in the number of qubits is an inherent issue in classical modeling of quantum systems. In the effort to alleviate the critical scalability issue in existing FPGA emulation works, a novel FPGA-based quantum circuit emulation framework based on Heisenberg representation is proposed in this paper. Unlike previous works that are restricted to the emulations of quantum circuits of small qubit sizes, the proposed FPGA emulation framework can scale-up to 120-qubit on Altera Stratix IV FPGA for the stabilizer circuit case study while providing notable speed-up over the equivalent simulation model.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a broad impact on all sectors of life in Indonesia, including the economic sector. Not a few business sectors are experiencing losses and even bankruptcy. Therefore, business actors must be able to implement and develop certain strategies in order to survive and gain profits both in the midst of the pandemic storm and after the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to obtain information about the strategies of Herbal and Herbal Medicine business players in Sehat Basamo in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative design with a case study approach. Research informants are sellers of herbs and herbal medicine Sehat Basamo as many as 4 people who were selected by purposive sampling. In addition, 4 informants were selected who are loyal customers at the Sehat Basamo outlet. The research was carried out in March-April 2021 at four locations of Sehat Basamo outlets in Samarinda City. The data and information obtained were then analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study obtained information that all Healthy Basamo herbal and herbal outlets and customers who visited Sehat Basamo outlets complied with the Covid-19 health protocol according to the government's appeal in controlling the spread of the Covid-19 rate. In addition to complying with health protocols, the Herbal and herbal medicine business of Sehat Basamo has also been proven to be able to survive in the midst of a pandemic and even continue to benefit from the sales of its products. The success of the owner of the Healthy Basamo herbal and herbal outlet in maintaining business continuity and still making profits in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic by implementing a strategy that is consistent attitude in product presentation, not increasing product prices, friendliness and courtesy of sellers and ensuring the availability of product supply. Sales of herbal and herbal products from Sehat Basamo are carried out face-to-face with buyers and the financial accounting management is still manual. Therefore, sellers of Herbal and Jamu Sehat Basamo can take advantage of currently available technology and information both to increase product sales results and in managing digital-based business financial accounting (digital accounting) which is available in various application software.

The increasing development of the industry makes every industry have to compete with other competitors to gain an edge. The advantages of competition are influenced by several factors, one of which is good human resource management. Where if a company has good human resources, it will increase profits indirectly and can increase productivity. This research discusses case studies about the potential dangers of IKM Heppy Bakery’s potential dangers that can harm workers in bread production. The method used is Failure Mode And Effect Analysis (FMEA). Later, the data will be filled and given a rating distinguished into three parts: severity, occurrence, and detection. The data were obtained through questionnaires given to 3 workers at IKM Heppy Bakery and filled in rating values based on the provisions that have been given to the questionnaire. This Value helps determine the Risk Priority Number (RPN) obtained from multiplication between severity, occurrence, and detection. After processing the RPN multiplication data, the highest RPN value was obtained by 193 with the danger factor of the operator overheating and dehydrating due to high temperatures. Furthermore, the calculation of critical Value was obtained by 109. Based on the critical Value obtained seven hazard factors above the critical value, these seven hazard factors need to be improved so that workers do not avoid accidents when conducting the production process.

The customer behavior in shopping were changing the demand disruptions when the COVID-19 pandemic attacked the countries. Retail industries are one of business sectors which were directly impacted the availability of item products. The purpose of this study is to understand the level of demand disruptions of COVID-19 pandemic using Bayesian Network (BN). BN method is powerful method to assess and decide the uncertainly of demand and risk. Based on relevant literature and interviews, the hierarchy of BN were developed and stock out data to represent the product of availability in 5 case study were collected in case study. Finally, the analysis to understand the level of demand disruptions each item products, product family and categories have been performed. This paper provides a new evidence by changing of shopping behavior when the COVID-19 pandemic attached in Indonesia and presents the BN application could be used to handle risk assessment based on stock out data systematically and comprehensively.

ABSTRACT Optical systems are recognized to be an important tool for structural health monitoring, especially for real time safety assessment, due to simplified system configuration and low cost when compared to regular systems, namely electrical systems. This work aims to present a case study on structural health monitoring focused on reliability assessment and applying data collected by a simplified optical sensing system. This way, an elevated reinforced concrete water reservoir was instrumented with a bi-axial optical accelerometer and monitored since January 2014. Taking into account acceleration data, the natural frequencies and relative displacements were estimated. The reliability analysis was performed based on generalized extreme values distribution (GEV) and the results were employed to build a forecast of the reliability of the water elevated reservoir for the next 100 years. The results showed that the optical system combined with GEV analysis, implemented in this experimental work, can provide adequate data for structural reliability assessment.

Traditional theories deal with ethnic business mainly from the perspectives of structural opportunities and ethnic group characteristics. While they explain very well why some ethnic groups have higher rates of business formation and ownership than others, much less attention has been paid to the role of government policies in regulating the inflow of business immigrants and channelling ethnic entrepreneurs and related resources into different business sectors. Using Canada as a case study, this paper examines how changes in immigration policies have influenced business immigrant flows and ethnic business development (since most ethnic businesses are initiated and run by immigrants). This study found that the recent changes in Canada’s immigration programs have resulted in substantial decrease in the inflow of business immigrants, and may turn many resourceful business immigrants to the competing countries of the U.S., Australia and the UK, which all have more affordable and less restrictive investment requirements. The paper suggests that future studies of ethnic business should be expanded to include immigration policies as an explicit facilitating or restricting factor.

Even though security research in cognitive radio offers specific countermeasures to address known threats, there are a number of unknown conditions or influences that will shape its eventual realization once it reaches capability maturity. To attempt to secure against such unknowns, this chapter describes a risk engine that can incorporate a risk assessment cognition cycle. In various business sectors, risk management is the preferred mechanism to address unknown conditions and therefore offers promise in this context. The chapter describes how the risk engine can potentially address the vulnerabilities inherent to radio operation: in the sensing/perception of spectrum, in the cognition cycle, or in the device infrastructure. It highlights some well-defined threats, their associated countermeasures, and suggests conceptual approaches for a risk engine to intervene in those scenarios. Finally, a case study is introduced to demonstrate an example risk engine's ability to accurately assess particular risks in a given operational environment as well as potentially detect adversarial actions.
