The aim of the present study was to evaluate the relationship between BMI and tooth decay in a population of Iranian children. In this cross-sectional descriptive/analytical study, 1482 children were selected from kindergartens and preschool centers in Kerman, Iran. The children underwent examination of deciduous teeth (using the dmft index) after determination of height and weight for calculation of BMI. The relationship between BMI (after adjustment for age) and dmft was determined using Poisson’s regression model. The mean of dmft in children with normal BMI was 1.5-fold that in subjects with extra body weight. Age had a significant effect on dmft. In addition, dmft was higher in boys compared to girls. The results of the present study showed that caries rate in the deciduous teeth of 3–6-year-old children decreases with an increase in body weight.

Introduction: Advanced and very advanced maternal age are associated with several adverse maternal and fetal outcome. The objective of this study was to find out the possible association between advance maternal age and adverse pregnancy outcomes at Manipal Teaching Hospital. Methods: A cross sectional analytical study conducted at department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara, Nepal. A total of 198 patient who were ≥30 years and >24 weeks pregnant admitted in obstetric ward were selected. These patient were divided into three groups according to their age (30-34, 35-39 and ≥ 40years). We compared the incidence of adverse maternal and perinatal outcome among these groups. We also calculated odds ratio of maternal and perinatal outcomes in 35-39 years and ≥ 40years women, compared with women aged 30-34 years. Results: Comparison of the three age groups revealed that advanced maternal age constitute a predisposing factor for malpresentation, gestational diabetes mellitus, placenta previa, fetal distress and caesarean section. Whereas, risk of non progress of labour, preterm birth, postpartum hemorrhage, perinatal death and congenital anomalies were increased in very advanced maternal age group. From these, statistical significance was reached in case of greater risk of malpresentation (p=0.01,OR=6.66), fetal distress (p=0.04, OR=2.6) and caesarean section(p=0.02,OR=2.06) in advanced age group when compared to the patients aged 30-34. Furthermore, very advanced age group were higher risk of postpartum hemorrhage (p=0.03, OR=2.47) and congenital anomalies, which were statistically significant (p=0.04, OR=29.57) when compared to the 30-34 years. Conclusion: Advanced and very advanced maternal age is associated with several adverse maternal and perinatal outcome. The risk of perinatal complication begin to increase after the age of 35 but significantly increased after 40 years.

The outstretched arm span and measurement of components of the upper limb are a reliable predictors of stature when fragmentary remains of the human body are found. However, this relationship can be affected by age, sex, diet, racial and geographical differences, etc. Hence, a regional database is necessary to be more accurate. This cross-sectional, prospective analytical study included 200 students pursuing MBBS (Male = 100, Female = 100), natives of Gujarat, aged between 18 - 24 years with normal developmental history. Rich bells stature meter, Anthropometric metal rods (scaled), and Vernier caliper were used for taking measurements. SPSS software version 26 was used for statistical analysis. The findings showed a positive correlation between stature and the outstretched arm span as well as stature and various components of the upper limb. Except for the correlation between stature and the length of the shoulder to mid suprasternal notch in males, all of the results were statistically significant (p < 0.05). Regression equations were derived and verified.Outstretched arm span is the most reliable indicator of stature whereas the length of the shoulder to mid suprasternal notch is the least reliable indicator of stature in both sexes in the natives of Gujarat. This study can be used as a reference in the future for medico-legal purposes.

BACKGROUND Chronic arterial insufficiency (CAI) results in stenotic-occlusive disease of vascularized arterial disorders of tissues and organs. CAI of the lower extremities represents a significant medical and socio-economic problem due to a high incidence of morbidity, invalidity and mortality. METHODS A cross sectional analytical study was conducted in a group of 100 patients, admitted at the Vascular Department of the Sri Venkateshwara Ramnaraian Ruia Government General Hospital, Tirupati during the period from September 2018 to August 2019, with evident symptoms and signs of different stages of lower extremities CAI verified by ultrasonography. In patients with lower extremity disorder of tissue arterial capillaries, SpO2 was determined by pulse oximetry. CAI of the lower extremity was determined on the basis of clinical findings and colour Doppler duplex scan echo sonography results. Using the conventional method (single-gate) and colour Doppler duplex scan (multi-gate), the presence and localization of stenosis, the segmental predominance (with multisegmental forms) and the degree of progression of stenotic-occlusive lesions were verified. RESULTS Results Using pulse oximetry, depending on the of stage of lower extremities CAI, we revealed a considerable difference in the stages of functional ischemia Mean SpO2: Fontaine I – 95.50 %, Fontaine II – 92.90; in stage critical ischemia SpO2: Fontaine III – 65.00 % and Fontaine IV – 49.87 %. In 29 patients with gangrenous foot and fingers SpO2 was immeasurable and progressive decrease in SpO2 of arterial capillaries (p<0.01 between stages). CONCLUSIONS Due to the reliability and simplicity of pulse oximetry it can be a routinely used diagnostic device for patients with early determined stage of lower extremities CAI. There are many parents who still didn’t know about the development of school model for children with elementary school levels. This condition clarified by the lack of socialization from government relate with the role of model in elementary. Research design that is use in this research is correlative cross sectional analytical study. Analytical design is research design that testing the correlation between variables which aims to find a relationship of  parental support and students achievement. The result of both variables tested by SPSS Rank Spearman. The population in this research is student’s family of MI Mambaul Ulum from 4-6 grade as many as 34 people. The result showed that sig 2 tailed is 0,001 < 0,05 so the hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is a correlation between parental support with students achievement at Mambaul Ulum boarding school Tlonto Raja Pasean sub-district, Pamekasan regency. The improving  of children’s achievement can increase prosperity in future, children are the next generation who will carry out the interests of nation especially for their area where their live.
