The virtual courses developed by higher education institutions incorporate the video format as one of the most used resources in the delivery of their online training offer. Within the different types of audiovisual productions found in MOOCs, the introductory or presentation video of the courses has become an illustrative piece of the new edu-communicative context of distance education, when articulating, in the same work, informative, didactic, and advertising content. The objective of this research work is to study the triple communicative nature of this innovative format following a specific methodology of audiovisual textual analysis. For this, 420 videos of this type of promotional video, belonging to 105 universities and educational centres that have developed MOOC courses for the Miríadax platform, are analysed. After checking the results of the formal characteristics, content structures, discursive techniques, and audiovisual language components of the videos, it is concluded that they are mostly pieces linked to the staging style of the classroom, but that, by enriching the visual appearance of a master lesson with audiovisual resources, take advantage of the narrative, aesthetic, and creative potential of audiovisual and advertising communication to capture the attention of the student-spectator, inform about the characteristics of the courses, offer valuable educational content, and generate an image of the brand for the institution responsible for producing the course.

Increasingly, raw materials of natural origin are used as fillers in polymer composites. Such biocomposites have satisfactory properties. To ensure above-average functional properties, modifications of biofillers with other materials are also used. The presented research work aimed to produce and characterize elastomeric materials with a straw-based filler and four different types of montmorillonite. The main research goal was to obtain improved functional parameters of vulcanizates based on natural rubber. A series of composites filled with straw and certain types of modified and unmodified nano-clays in various ratios and amounts were prepared. Then, they were subjected to a series of tests to assess the impact of the hybrids used on the final product. It has been shown that the addition of optimal amounts of biofillers can, inter alia, increase the tensile strength of the composite, improve damping properties, extend the burning time of the material and affect the course of vulcanization or cross-linking density.

Purpose Water can alter the performance of modern gear lubricants by influencing the flank load carrying capacity of gears significantly. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of water contaminations in different kinds of base oils on the micro-pitting and wear performance of case carburized gears. Design/methodology/approach Concerning micro-pitting and wear, tests, based mostly on the following standardized tests, are performed on a Forschungsstelle fuer zahnraeder und getriebebau (FZG)-back-to-back gear test rig: micro-pitting short test Graufleckenkurztest (GFKT) according to DGMK 575 (screening test), micro-pitting test Graufleckentest (GT) according to FVA 54/7 (load stage test and endurance test) and Slow-speed wear test according to DGMK 377. To investigate the effect of water on the gear load carrying capacity dependent on different types of base oils, two polyglycol oils (PG1 and PG2), a polyalphaolefin oil, a mineral oil and an ester oil E are used. Each of these oils are common wind turbine gear oils with a viscosity ISO VG-220. Additionally, a manual transmission fluid with a viscosity of society of automotive engineers (SAE) 75W-85 is tested. Findings Considering the micro-pitting and wear performance, a significant decrease caused by water contaminations could not be detected. Regarding pitting damages, a generally negative influence was observed. This influence was differently distinctive for different base oil types. Especially non-polar lubricants seem to be affected negatively. The documented damages of the tooth flanks confirm this observation. While typical pitting damages appeared in test runs with polar lubricants, the disruption in test runs with non-polar lubricants was more extensive. Based on the experimental investigations, a general model of the damaging mechanisms of water contaminations in lubricants was derived. It is split into three partitions: interaction lubricant–water (effect of water on the molecular structure of base oils and additives), chemical-material-technological (especially corrosive reactions) and tribological influence (effect of water droplets in the contact zone). It has to be considered that the additive package of lubricants affects the influence of water contaminations on the flank load carrying capacity distinctively. An influence of water on the micro-pitting and wear performance in other than the given lubricants cannot be excluded. Originality/value While former research work was focused more on the effects of water in mineral oils, investigations concerning different types of base oils as well as different types of damages were carried out within this research project.

In this research work, the development of an electronic device that allows reading the temperature, heart rate, and location of a person, and send this data by a text message to a smartphone using a mobile network is proposed. The proposed monitoring device uses sensors that help us detect different types of signals which are translated into human language using microcontrollers, electronics, and various types of programming processes to develop functions to obtain data. As a result, the device will send a text message only if the readings return a parameter different from the normal ranges or when the wearer of the device presses a help button. This will send text messages to the phone number linked to a patient or a patient's relative.

Industrial activities lead to the release of different types of toxic metals into the environment. Phytoremediation has been established as one of the environmental-friendly and economical processes that have the potential for the remediation of industrial waste. Phytoremediation is used to extract metals from industrial effluents using ex-situ and in-situ treatments. Also, phytoremediation may be used to reclaim the polluted land resource for agricultural purposes. Moreover, this also prevents the bioaccumulation and biomagnification of xenobiotics from farming activities if carried out from polluted land. Phyto-mining can be done to recover and reuse the heavy metals from plant tissues after phytoremediation by plants. This study aimed to give a comprehensive review of recent research work in heavy metal phytoremediation.

Fast dissolving strips are used as novel approaches, as it dissolves rapidly in mouth and directly reaches the systemic circulation. In present research work, an attempt has been made to prepare mouth dissolving strips of Metoclopramide hydrochloride by using a novel film former Pullulan by solvent casting method. A33 full factorial design was utilized for the optimization of the effect of independent variables such as the amount of Pullulan, amount of PEF 400, amount of SSG on mechanical properties, and % drug release of strips. The drug compatibility studies using FTIR and DSC studies formulated strips were characterized for their physicochemical parameter like weight variation, visual appearance, folding endurance, thickness, disintegration time, drug content, and in vitro dissolution studies. FTIR and DSC studies revealed that the polymer is compatible with the drug. It was found that the optimum levels of the responses for a fast release strip could be obtained at low levels of Pullulan, PEG400, and SSG. The prepared strip was clear transparent and had a smooth surface. The surface pH was found 4.8 to 5.2 be in the range of to which is close to salivary pH, which indicates that strips may have less potential to irritate the oral mucosa, thereby they are comfortable. The drug release was found to be between 90.94 to 100.5% in 2 min. The in-vitro disintegration time of strips prepared with Pullulan was in the range of 19 to 57 sec. As the concentration of SSG increases the decrease in the disintegration time of strips a decrease. The dissolution rate increased with an increase in the concentration of SSG. Hence, it can be inferred that the fast dissolving oral strips of Metoclopramide hydrochloride may produce rapid action thereby improving bioavailability and enhance the absorption by avoiding the first-pass effect.

At present the by-way of advertising communication is the syntactic level of organization of advertising texts, the functioning of certain structural-semantic types of sentences. Therefore, there is no doubt in the relevance of the research of bisubstantive sentences activating their presence in the modern commercial advertising texts as a result of the desire of the advertising language to substantiality, saving speech resources, and using simple line structures. The sources of the study were the international and Russian magazines of various directions published 2017 - 2020: “Health”, “Golden Square”, “Ideas for Your Home”, “Beauty and Health, “Cosmopolitan”, “ELLE”, “Tatler”, “InStyle”, “Yoga Journal” and others. The article describes different types of bisubstantive sentences with different meaning: with the meaning of generalizing identification, with the meaning of interpretation, with the taxonomic meaning, with the characteristic, with the local meaning. The author comes to the conclusion that bisubstantive sentences of different semantics perform several specific functions in the advertising texts: attractive (attracting the addressee’s attention of to the advertised product), informative (fixing the main properties of the product), argumentative and guarantee (mustering arguments for the purchase), emotionally-expressive (creating a favorable emotional background), stimulating (stimulating the desire to purchase a product), suggestive (realizing the unreasonable impact on the recipient, making the psychological effects).

This chapter explores how science and technology has revolutionized the sounds produced by different instruments. The main examples here are for the violin family and wind instruments. Some changes do not significantly alter the visual appearance, but allow different types of performance, more power, changes in tone, and totally new instruments (e.g. the saxophone). This has had an immense influence on composition, to exploit these new sounds, and of course an equally major swing in fashion from the audiences and players. Understanding of the science has been a key factor in the developments. Change is not always popular, and for example many players of early musical compositions believe they should be played with original sounding instruments and pitch. Unfortunately, the majority of audiences are now so accustomed to the new sounds that they find the earlier ones difficult to appreciate.
