The microbiological quality of bottled water sold in Canada was evaluated. A total of 114 lots of bottled water, both domestic and imported, were analyzed for aerobic colony count, coliforms, fecal coliforms, and Escherichia coli. No fecal coliforms or E. coli were found. Nineteen (46%) of the 41 lots of domestic purified water were found to exceed aerobic colony count standards and another lot exceeded coliform standards. One lot each of domestic and imported mineral water exceeded coliform standards. If mineral water were governed by the aerobic colony count standards for bottled water, then five lots each of both domestic and imported mineral water would have been found to be unsatisfactory. More surveillance of the bottled water industry in Canada is recommended.

Bottled water is now the biggest selling soft drink in Europe (van Musschenbroek, 1995) with sales topping 700 million litres in 1994 in the UK alone (Natural Mineral Water Association, pers comm). As part of a wide ranging UK Department of the Environment Programme to assess possible risks from the consumption of drinking water from all sources, a survey of the microbiological quality of still bottled water, at the point of sale, was conducted. A total of 17 different brands of still water (both natural mineral and other bottled water) in a variety of different containers (plastic and glass, clear and coloured) were tested for total colony counts at 22°C and 37°C, total coliforms, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, aeromonads, faecal streptococci and sulphite-reducing clostridia. Bottles were purchased from various suppliers in order to obtain a range of different sell by dates.

Basically the decision to buy bottled water by consumers is influenced by many factors such as the quality of a product, brand, taste, lifestyle and the range of promotion made by the company. Driven by the needs that exist within a person and the desire that the needs in a person are affected if the consumer shows a sense of fun that ultimately leads to loyalty. Loyal customers are more valuable than customers who are just satisfied. For loyal customers will always use the product of all time and is a source of revenue and Aicos company in this case have been concerned about factors that can affect consumers in buying decisions. In this research, the research describes several variables that influence consumer purchase decision that is product quality, price, promotion. The quality of the product, the price, the promotion is called the independent variable and the purchase decision is called the dependent variable. Through the research results obtained by researchers, the researchers drew the conclusion that the variables free of price and promotion have a significant effect on purchasing decision because the value of sig <0,05. While for the independent variable of product quality has no significant effect with purchase decision because sig value> 0,05. This is because the consumers who have been interviewed stated that the drinking water products in their quality packaging are almost the same.

In the experiment on the white Wistar rats, the authors evaluated kidneys changes in urolithiasis modelling (Kidney stone disease, KSD) and the possibility of correcting these changes by internal use of the mineral water (MW) with high organic matter content. The results of the studies revealed structural pathological changes in the kidneys in the form of changes of the part of glomeruli capillaries and gross changes in the kidneys tubules and interstitial layers. At the same time, the functional kidneys activity is manifested in the form of increased urination and a significant increase in urination. Urine metabolic characteristics are also change. The use of MW leads to an improvement in the capillaries of the renal corpuscles structure and almost complete restoration of the tubules structure. The functional activity of the kidneys and the quality of urine have significantly improving. The authors believe that the organic compounds of MW, which mainly determine its biological activity, contribute to the improvement of the regulation of metabolic processes and, accordingly, have a positive effect on the structural and functional parameters of the kidneys.. Keywords: urolithiasis, structural and functional characteristics of the kidneys, mineral water,

The article presents the justification for the use of selenium-modified low-mineralized mineral water of Chapaevsk deposit (the Karachay-Cherkess Republic), modified by selenium. It describes its effect on the state of hormonal and immune status, antioxidant system in malignant diseases of digestive organs, prevention of complications, reduction of dose of used medicines, improvement of quality of life of this category of patients. Conclusion. It is noted that the use of selenium-modified low-mineralized mineral water expands and complements the possibilities of rehabilitation and rehabilitation assistance to patients who have undergone operations on the large intestine in case of malignant neoplasms.

Background: The consumption of bottled water globally, including Iran, has increased tremendously in recent years. This study was designed to assess the bacteriological quality of bottled water and its compliance with the drinking water regulations. In addition, we evaluated bottled waters for the presence of a variety of genera of bacteria and the effect of storage duration on the extent of bacterial contamination. Methods: Four hundred samples of bottled water belonging to ten different Iranian brands with various production dates were purchased from supermarkets in Gorgan, Iran, from 2017 to 2018. Bacterial quality of bottled water was assessed using heterotrophic plate count (HPC) followed by usual biochemical tests for identification of bacterial genera, and by the API system. Results: The average HPC of bottled water was 9974 colony-forming units per milliliter (CFU/ml). Twelve genera were isolated, among which Bacillus spp. and Escherichia coli were the most and least abundant, respectively. Statistical analysis showed that there was a positive association between water quality and storage duration so that the highest microbial load occurred within the first to third months after bottling. Furthermore, the highest rate of contamination was observed in May when ambient air temperatures commonly reached 40 °C. Conclusion: The bacterial quality of bottled water was not according to the standard of drinking water quality. This study demonstrated the variation in bacterial levels after bottling, which indicates the presence of waterborne heterotrophic bacteria, some of which can pose severe health risks to consumers.
