The possibility of using raster images to improve the accuracy of processing differential thermal analysis (DTA) data is considered. Estimation of error in measuring of components content with a phase transition in heterogeneous materials by the DTA data presented in the form of raster images was made. Using languages HTML, CSS, JavaScript as well as Canvas technology, a web-application for processing DTA data presented as raster images was created. The application allows measuring the relative content of components with a phase transition in heterogeneous materials with an error of 3% by scan data of peaks in DTA curves. The application created in this work can use any Internet browser as a software environment.

The paper discusses approach to automating the processes of monitoring and editing standard sections in a document of a university teacher in streaming mode. As a toolkit for solving the problem, it is proposed to use the Python programming language with the connection of the python-docx and pandas libraries. Despite the fact that the projected automation tools are focused on a specific task to control documents of a university teacher, the development of the concept of their construction is carried out with an abstraction from the type of documentation. The set of functions may vary depending on the problem being solved. As a result of work on the creation of tools for automating the control of the correctness of typical sections of a university teachers document, a framework of an open software environment for streaming verification of typical sections of documents in the Python language was designed, capable of adapting to the required verification tasks. The project is currently implemented for autonomous operation in Windows OS, it is also expected to be implemented as a web application. For active use in practice for specific tasks, the development of appropriate script packages is required. The main purpose of the development is to release human resources from the routine process of document control and direct it to the implementation of the employees creative ideas.

Abstract The ternary compound β-Li2ZnGe was prepared and its structure determined from powder and single crystal data. The compound crystallizes in a modified Na3As type structure, space group Ṗ̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇̇3̄m 1 - D33d.The cell parameters are: a = 432.6 pm, c = 1647.0 pm, c/a= 3.83.A phase transition between a-and β-Li2ZnGe was found and the reaction of the elements lithium, zinc and germanium to a-Li2ZnGe was followed by differential thermal analysis. The temperatures and the enthalpies of transition and fusion were determined.

Abstract Thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) are traditional, but still useful, experimental techniques for obtaining information in the realms of materials and solid state chemistry. This paper presents two case studies (many more could be cited) to illustrate the strengths (and limitations) of these techniques: (1) Iron doping of clinoptilolite (the most common zeolite): the typical parameters of both components appear clearly in the TG and DTA curves. The decrease of the Tmax value of the structurally-typical DTA effect of FeOOH by approximately 100°C is attributed to the weakening of chemical bonds in FeOOH due to the incorporation of the doping component into the structure of this zeolite. (2) Macrodefect-free (MDF) materials: the results of both TG and DTA unambiguously locate the typical temperature range of the decomposition of the P{4}–O–Al/Fe{6} cross-links within the interval of 200–300°C. The presence of cross-links is shown by the DTA data while the TG data can be used to measure the degree of cross-linking, which is valuable information when studying both raw mixes and the final materials for a variety of MDF materials.

DTA, TG, and TMA curves of commercial Kevlar® 49 and Nomex® fibers have been used to assess their behavior at high temperatures. The fibers lost absorbed water around 100°C, and a glass transition was reflected in the DTA and TMA curves in the region of 300°C. Difficulties in the interpretation of DTA and TMA curves in the glass-transition region and in the assignments of Tv‘s for these high-performance fibers are discussed. Whereas Kevlar 49 showed both a crystalline melting point (560°C) and a sharp endothermal thermal decomposition (590°C), Nomex showed only the latter (440°C) and no evidence of melting from the DTA curves. The endothermal decomposition peaks apparently correspond to “polymer melt temperatures” reported for related materials, and correlate well with the TG and TMA features. During thermal analysis of Kevlar 49, oxidation occurs more readily than thermal decomposition, but the latter predominates for Nomex. Differences between dyed and undyed Nomex were due to differences in yarn constitution.

AgCu[Formula: see text]Fe[Formula: see text]S compounds were synthesized by partial Cu[Formula: see text][Formula: see text][Formula: see text]Fe replacement in the AgCuS crystal at a concentration range of 0[Formula: see text][Formula: see text][Formula: see text]x[Formula: see text][Formula: see text][Formula: see text]0.03. In the differential thermal analysis spectrum obtained at a temperature range of 300 K[Formula: see text][Formula: see text][Formula: see text]T[Formula: see text][Formula: see text][Formula: see text]1300 K, endoeffect corresponding to the structural phase transition in the AgCuS compound was observed at the temperature T[Formula: see text]=[Formula: see text]938 K. It has been determined that this result is also observed in the AgCu[Formula: see text]Fe[Formula: see text]S compound obtained by partial replacement of Cu atoms by Fe atoms. However, in the compound of AgCu[Formula: see text]Fe[Formula: see text]S this effect was observed at higher temperatures. The thermal capacities and enthalpies of phase transitions were calculated for the given compounds.

Vacuum carburization of nanometer tungsten powder was investigated in a simple designed apparatus. An X-Y recorder was used to plot differential thermal analysis (DTA) curves to determine the starting temperature of carburization of four samples with different specific surface area. The product was characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). The results show that finer tungsten powder has lower starting temperature of carburization. Tungsten powder, the BET surface area of which is 32.97m2/g, was completely carburized to tungsten carbide at 1050°C, even though the starting temperature was 890°C. The particle was found to grow sharply before carburization.
