The article is devoted to the process and results of territorial self-determination of national minorities in the Terek district in 1924-1930 within the framework of the Soviet national construction. This problem has not yet found special coverage in the scientifi c literature. The study determined the nature and degree of infl uence of the geographical location of the Terek district and its ethno-social structure on the processes of administrative and territorial arrangement of national minorities. The features of settlement, social and religious structure of the largest ethnic groups are determined. The main priorities in the implementation of the policy of territorial separation of ethnic groups living in the region are indicated. The main criteria for creating national territorial entities, including Soviets of villages of the hill people and Soviets of villages of the Russian Cossacks, are highlighted. Projects on allocation of national districts and areas are analysed. Objective and subjective factors that hindered the implementation of these projects were identifi ed. It was proved that the national policy in the Terek district was subject to signifi cant adjustments due to local ethnic, social, cultural, economic and political specifi cs. It is noted that the ethnosocial structure of national minorities in the region was extremely heterogeneous. It was revealed that the Cossack factor continued to play an important role in the process of territorial self-determination of national minorities in the Terek district.

The current paper has considered the following issues: determination of the drought phenomenon and its classification (atmospheric, soil and combined), drought harmfulness and spread in the Russian Federation. It has been established that regional droughts have specific features, namely soil or atmospheric, spring, summer or autumn. There has been given a classification by intensity and coverage of territories by droughts (very strong, strong, medium and weak). There has been shown a response of agricultural plants to various types of droughts. The northwestern and southeastern droughts (the second type) negatively affect the plants, as they combine low air humidity and soil with high temperature. There has been given a partial characteristic of the climate of the North Caucasus region (on the example of the Rostov region). The most used indicators of meteorological research are Selyaninov’s hydrothermal humidity factor (HHF) which is the ratio of the amount of precipitation for a period of at least a month to the sum of temperatures above 10 °C for the same period, reduced by 10 times. The classification of humidification zones according to the HHF is as follows: wet (1.6–1.3); slightly arid (1.3–1.0); arid (1.0–0.7); very arid (0.7–0.4); dry (<0.4). The data of the HHF are given on the example of meteorological conditions of the Zernograd district of the Rostov region (the years of 2001–2015). It has been found that in 2001–2015 the hydrothermal humidity factor over the autumn period was 0.13–0.17 (dry) on average, and the HHF of the summer period was 0.28 (dry). During the studied period, the hydrothermal factor during the growing season was 0.78 (dry) on average. Thus, for the period 2001–2015, the conditions for plants growth and development were unfavorable.

New data were obtained when studying the characteristics of the regional pathology of esophagostomosis in the North Caucasus region, taking into account the breed and age of the sheep. The research materials were sets of intestinal sections (90 sets each) and feces samples (300 samples each) of North Caucasian of meat-wool and Karachay breeds. In work the method of full helmintologic of opening according to K.I. Scryabin to account for nematodes of the genus Oesophagostomum, of as well as methods of coprolarvoscopy to account for the number of larvae in the feces. The determination of the species of nematodes was carried out according to the Kapustin determinant. Esophagostomosis in Kabardino-Balkaria is an enzootic invasion with coverage of 44.44–61.11% of the sheep population. The intensity of infection by nematodes of the genus Oesophagostomum ranges from 110.3±12.8 to 303.53±28.20 ekz. / head. In lambs up to 1 year, the EI of esophagostomosis was 63.33% with II – 328.6±28.3 ekz. / head; in Karachai lambs, 43.33% and 212.4±19.2 ekz. / head, respectively; in young sheep 1–2 years, the EI of esophagostomosis was 80.00% with II – 406.3±39.9 ekz. / head; in the Karachai breed – 63.33% and 289.6±25.7 ekz./ head. Conclusion. Esophagostomy of the most susceptible sheep of all ages of the North Caucasian meat-wool breed compared to Karachai, which is associated with the characteristics of the range and ecology. Esophagostomy, regardless of the breed, lambs up to 1 year old and young sheep of 1–2 years old are ill, which should be used when predicting the epizootic situation in the subjects of the Russian Federation.

Currently, more than 70 wheat rust resistance genes are known, but few of them are effective. The purpose of this work is to screen lines of Lr gene carriers for resistance to leaf rust under conditions of the North Caucasus region. Investigations were carried out in 2016-2018 at the infectious site of VNIIBZR. Research material was 49 near isogenic lines of winter wheat cultivar Thatcher. Infectious material was the combined populations of P. triticina, obtained as a result of route surveys of industrial and breeding crops of winter wheat in the areas of the Krasnodar, Stavropol Territories and the Rostov Region, conducted in 2016-2018. According to the assessment, the genes are ranked as follows: - highly efficient genes (plants with no signs of damage): Lr9, Lr42, Lr43 + 24 and Lr50; effective (1R-5R) Lr genes: 19, 24, 29, 36, 37, 38, 45, 47; moderately effective (10MR-20MR) Lr genes: 17, 18, 21, 22a, 28, 32, 41, 52. The remaining Lr-lines were susceptible to P. triticina (25 MR - 90S) to varying degrees. Highly efficient and effective genes Lr9, Lr19, Lr24, Lr29, Lr38, Lr42, Lr43 + 24, Lr47 and Lr50 showed resistance in the seedling phase and can be recommended for inclusion in breeding programs to protect wheat from leaf rust in different phases of plant ontogenesis in the North Caucasus region.

Morocco is a country in the North African region with a strategic geographical location for migration routes to Europe. Morocco borders Spain directly, causing thousands of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers to pass through Morocco as a transit country to get to Europe as a major destination. Previously, Morocco itself was a large migrant sending country with a total Moroccan diaspora abroad reaching almost 10% of the total population. The dynamics of Morocco as a sending, transit and now a recipient country for refugees makes Morocco have a policy dynamic that is quite interesting to study. Starting with Law 02-03 which made Morocco the first Arab country to have regulations on refugees, ratification of the 2011 constitution, until the enactment of the National Policy on Immigration and Asylum (NPIA) in 2013 made Morocco continue to get praise from various parties for its quite friendly regulations against these refugees, despite various diplomatic pressures that Morocco has received from other countries such as Spain and Greece. Morocco then offers permanent residency for refugees who fulfill the procedure. In discussing the motives behind Morocco's positive response, Jacobsen's concept of influencing factors influencing Jacobsen's explanations explains 4 variable factors: international relations, national security considerations, the competitiveness of local communities, and bureaucratic decisions.

In this article, the authors comprehend the moral and ethical phenomenon of "Adyge habz the problems of its preservation and development in modern society in the context of globalization. The study of traditions is undoubtedly relevant in modern conditions, when many ethnic groups persistently retain interest in past values, their origins and prospects. The authors note that this problem is relevant not only for the Adygs, but also for other peoples of the North Caucasus, which have their own analogues of national moral and ethical codes. Based on the results of the conducted sociological research, it is concluded that the role of Adyghism (adygag) in the system of traditional ethno-cultural values of the Adyghes has decreased, and therefore there is a need to revive and develop the national identity of the Adyghes.
