Purpose: The study sought to examine the effect of talent management practices on the organizational performance of public universities in Ghana. It then assessed the mediating role of leadership support in that context. Design/methodology/approach: The study adopted an explanatory design. It quantitatively approached the measurement and testing of the proposed hypotheses. Through the drop-and-pick method, primary data were collected with the structured questionnaires. The population included permanent lecturers in the University of Cape Coast, and through simple random sampling technique, 430 lecturers were selected and surveyed. The study recorded a 100% response rate. Reflective structural modeling was applied to testing the hypotheses with the SMART pls application.

The main objective of this study was to assess customers’ relationship management practices of Oromia Credit and Saving Share Company, Bule Hora city branch in Bule Hora, Ethiopia. Customer relationship management (CRM) as a strategy has gained tremendous interest among researchers and practitioners in recent times. Thus, this study tried to assess the status and ways CRM has been put in for practice by Oromia Credit and Saving Share Company (OCSSCO). In addition, this study considers different CRM dimensions such as empathy, bonding and satisfaction, and responsiveness. To achieve the objective of the study, primary data were collected through a questionnaire from a sample of 246 Oromia Credit and Saving Share Company customers of Bule Hora city branch, Bule Hora, Ethiopia, by using simple random sampling technique. The data collected through the questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis method and inferential statistics by using SPSS version 20 as a tool of data analysis. The study clearly revealed that the four CRM dimensions are strongly related. Thus, from the perspective of customers as well as management bodies of the Oromia Credit and Saving Share Company, CRM has a significant influence on customer retention and loyalty of the organization. Generally speaking, microfinance institutions are in need of doing a lot of CRM-based customer-focused practices.

HR Practices play crucial role towards employees’ job related outcomes that ultimately leads towards effective organizational performance. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between HR Practices, loyalty and commitment with mediating role of job satisfaction in banks of Gujranwala Pakistan. Study is descriptive and quantitative in nature. Survey questionnaire method has been adopted and data have been collected by applying simple random sampling technique. Results revealed that HR practices are significantly and positively related to employees’ loyalty and their commitment. Moreover, findings also depicted that jib satisfaction significantly and partially mediate the relationship between HR practices, loyalty and commitment.

A study was carried out in Dailekh, Nepal with an objective to assess the mandarin orchard management practices and their level of adoption by mandarin growers of Dullu municipality. All together 60 respondents were selected for the household survey in major citrus-producing wards of Dullu by following the simple random sampling technique. Primary data were collected by administering the pretested questionnaire and; descriptive and inferential statistics were computed using Ms-Excel and SPSS. The result showed that the majority of the respondents were from Brahmin ethnicity (43.3%), middle-age group i.e. 35-49 years (53.3%), and male (70.0%). Furthermore, most of them belonged to medium size family of 5-8 members (60.0%) and were earning most of their income through agriculture (80.0%). The result of the study revealed the variation in the scale of adoption of different management practices. Most of the households had adopted pruning and applied farmyard manure (FYM) while the least of them had adopted mulching and applied chemical fertilizer. Chi-square test revealed that the factors such as age (p=0.042), education level (p=0.007), family size (p=0.029), and training exposure (p=0.001) were significantly associated with the level of adoption of these practices. Incidence of insect-pests and diseases (I=0.88), frequent occurrence of climatic hazards such as hailstorms (I=0.71), and limited irrigation facility (I=0.70) were the major problems of mandarin growing households. It is recommended that improving access to irrigation facilities, use of certified planting material, mulching application and use of appropriate dose of manure and fertilizer must be prioritized in the study area.

Purpose This study aimed at improving an understanding of the mediating role of innovation in the relationship between entrepreneur characteristics and livelihood improvement. The study was empirical, based on primary data from the micro and small enterprises in the western region of Kenya. Design/methodology study adopted a quantitative approach, self-administered questionnaires were used to gather data from 382 Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) owners in Western Kenya, comprising Uasin Gishu and Bungoma Counties. The study examined the direct and indirect effects on livelihood improvement. A simple random sampling technique was used to select respondents for data collection. For statistical analysis, bivariate regression and multiple regression techniques were utilized with SPSS version 26 being the tool. The sopel test assisted in analyzing the effect of innovation as a mediator between entrepreneur characteristics and livelihood improvement. FindingsThe results reveal a statistically significant relationship between the entrepreneur characteristics and livelihood improvement under the mediating role of innovation. Practical implications these findings provide useful insights for MSEs, seeking to be competitive and responsive to the changing entrepreneurial landscape by successfully introducing innovations. The study encourages an innovative culture among the MSEs owners which is likely to facilitate the introduction, adoption, and diffusion of innovations that can in turn, result in the achievement of livelihood improvement. Originality/valueThe study contributes to the existing literature by enhancing an understanding of the mediating role of innovation in the relationship between entrepreneur characteristics and livelihood improvement in the MSEs sector of a developing context. The research is proposed to test the influence of Leadership and Motivation Work on Public Service Quality. The population in this study was the Kantor Kementerian Agama Sungai Penuh who had received the last 1 year service at the Kantor Kementerian Agama Sungai Penuh, amounting to 260 people. Furthermore, by using the Slovin formula, a sample size of 158 people was chosen with a sampling technique based on Simple Random Sampling. This study uses primary data and secondary data. Data analysis techniques used are path analysis and hypothesis testing using t test with data analysis using SPSS version 20. The results of the study based on showing that partially the Leadership and motivation work have a positive and significant effect on Public Service Quality. The results also show that motivation work variables act as intervening variables between Leadership and Public Service Quality.

Sustainable economic development does not occur without entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship is the practice of starting new organizations or revitalizing mature organizations. This study therefore is done to analyse the impact of innovation, technology and on the entrepreneurial development activities in Nigeria. Simple random sampling technique was used to select a total of 12 entrepreneurs from Lagos State that constituted our sample size. The primary data consists of a number of items in well- structured questionnaire that was administered to and completed by the respondents. Regression analysis was used to analyse the data. The results showed that there is significant relationship between technological innovation and entrepreneurship development in Nigeria. It is therefore recommended that government should create a friendly or an enabling environment for entrepreneurship and consumer goods to boost the Nigeria economy.

Anxiety is a feeling of discomfort, worry about something unclear and accompanied by autonomic symptoms. Murottal Al-Quran therapy is a complementary therapy with the most widely used Al-Qur'an media. This study aims to analyze the effect of the murottal Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Mulk and Al-Hasyr on the anxiety of medical students of Universitas Sriwijaya. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a cross-sectional approach with one group pre-post test design which was conducted from July to December 2020 at homes through Zoom meeting application. Sampling using simple random sampling technique. Data in the form of primary data using the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) questionnaire.Primary data were collected using the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) questionnaire before and after receiving the Murottal Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Mulk and Al-Hasyr for 7 consecutive days. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test was performed on the data, then analyzed with Paired t-test or Wilcoxon test using SPSS device. The Wilcoxon test results showed significant results of murottal Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Mulk and Al-Hasyr on anxiety (p = 0.000) in medical students. There is an effect of murottal Al-Qur’an surah Al-Mulk and Al-Hasyr on anxiety among medical students of Universitas Sriwijaya.

The aim of this study was to establish the role of organizational design in the organizational ambidexterity - performance relationship among large manufacturing firms (LMFs) in Kenya. The studies linking ambidexterity to organizational performance are few and with mixed findings. The few studies indicate that there is no clear ambidexterity - organizational performance relationship. The research was founded on dynamic capabilities and configurations theories. Based on the reviewed literature, a conceptual model and hypotheses were formulated. The study was guided by positivist philosophy. The population of the research was the entire 107 Kenyan large manufacturing firms (LMFs). Cross-sectional research design was used. Primary data in respect of predictor variables was used and was collected using a structured questionnaire. The respondents were the senior managers of the large manufacturing firms (LMFs) in Kenya; namely Chief Executive Officers/Managing Directors (CEOs/MDs) or General Managers (GMs), or Heads of departments (HODs). Descriptive statistics, correlations, linear, multiple and hierarchical regressions were applied in the data scrutiny and interpretation. The study results showed partial organizational design mediating role in the organizational ambidexterity - performance association of LMFs in Kenya. The study findings are useful to practitioners and managers of LMFs, policymakers in government as well as scholars and researchers. The study recommends further studies on the mediating role of organizational design, different variable operationalization, diversify respondents and context as well as longitudinal study.
