Technological Innovation: An Imperative Tool for Entrepreneurship Development in Nigeria

Sustainable economic development does not occur without entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship is the practice of starting new organizations or revitalizing mature organizations. This study therefore is done to analyse the impact of innovation, technology and on the entrepreneurial development activities in Nigeria. Simple random sampling technique was used to select a total of 12 entrepreneurs from Lagos State that constituted our sample size. The primary data consists of a number of items in well- structured questionnaire that was administered to and completed by the respondents. Regression analysis was used to analyse the data. The results showed that there is significant relationship between technological innovation and entrepreneurship development in Nigeria. It is therefore recommended that government should create a friendly or an enabling environment for entrepreneurship and consumer goods to boost the Nigeria economy.

This study examined the role of insurance in the economic development of Nigeria. Primary data were the sources of data for this study. A structured questionnaire was used to elicit data from the respondents. The data collected was drawn from the two companies Aiico and Alliance and General Insurance, using a simple random sampling technique. The data were subjected to Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was adopted in testing the hypotheses. The results of the study revealed that there was a positive and significant relationship between the role of insurance and economic development in Nigeria. It was concluded that organizations, especially top management, should recognize the importance of the role of insurance.

The research is proposed to test the influence of Leadership and Motivation Work on Public Service Quality. The population in this study was the Kantor Kementerian Agama Sungai Penuh who had received the last 1 year service at the Kantor Kementerian Agama Sungai Penuh, amounting to 260 people. Furthermore, by using the Slovin formula, a sample size of 158 people was chosen with a sampling technique based on Simple Random Sampling. This study uses primary data and secondary data. Data analysis techniques used are path analysis and hypothesis testing using t test with data analysis using SPSS version 20. The results of the study based on showing that partially the Leadership and motivation work have a positive and significant effect on Public Service Quality. The results also show that motivation work variables act as intervening variables between Leadership and Public Service Quality.

The topic of the research is Customer Satisfaction (CS) and Customer Loyalty (CL); special reference to the leading supermarkets in Jaffna. The objective of the research is to identify the impact of Customer Satisfaction on Customer Loyalty of leading Supermarkets in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. The research is simply deductive approach to find out the impact between Customer satisfaction and Customer loyalty. Quantitative method is available based on primary data. At present there are 08 numbers of supermarkets functioning in Jaffna district and popular three were selected. Random sampling technique is used to collect the data from customers of supermarkets in selected area. The analysis is carried out using a sample of 240 customers in Jaffna and only 218 were taken to analyze. ‘Statistical Package for Social Sciences’ (SPSS) 22.0 version was used in order to analyze the data. Correlation was used to find the connection between Customer Satisfaction and Customer Loyalty. Also Regression analysis is used to predict the value of a variable based on the value of two or more other variables. Also found that about 40 percent connection between Customer Satisfaction and Customer Loyalty and also found around 16% affect by Customer satisfaction to Customer loyalty.

Internet in the last few decades has revolutionized the world and this revolution has also influenced university students. This study was conducted to explore the relationship between use of online sources and library attendance. By using simple random sampling technique 72 female students from the Department of Sociology, International Islamic university Islamabad were selected as respondents for this study. The data was collected through structured questionnaire. Findings were coded and given quantitative interpretation. The findings indicate that the usage of library has decreased due to the availability of internet facility. Students reported to prefer online sources due to the fact that they are conveniently available without the need to visit the library. Constraints in using the library were also reported. Nevertheless the respondents acknowledged the importance of library and the fact that it gives more authentic knowledge compared to online sources.

Background: Diarrhea is an endemic disease in Indonesia and often cause death. In 2015 there were eighteen times the outbreak of diarrhea spread in eleven provinces, eighteen districts / cities, with the number one patient. 213 people and 30 deaths (CFR 2.47%). According to Surabaya City Health Office, there were 65.447 cases of diarrhea in 2015, in other words there were 23 cases of diarrhea in 1000 population. Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and diarrhea  in RW XIII and RW XIV Kelurahan Ampel, Subdistrict Semampir, City of Surabaya in  2017. Methods: This was observational analytics study with cross sectional design. The population in this research were all the children under five in the area in RW XIII and RW XIV in Kelurahan Ampel. Sampling technique used was  simple random sampling involving 39 respondents. Primary data were collected by interview with questionnaire, Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Data were analyzed statistically using Fisher’s Exact Test. Results: The result of this this study, there was relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and diarrhea (p=0.000). Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and diarrhea.ABSTRAKLatar Belakang: Diare adalah penyakit endemis di Indonesia dan sering menyebabkan kematian. Pada tahun 2015 terjadi delapan belas kali kejadian luar biasa diare yang  tersebar di sebelas provinsi, delapan belas kabupaten/kota, dengan jumlah penderita satu. 213 orang dan kematian 30 orang (CFR 2,47%). Menurut Dinas Kesehatan Kota Surabaya, pada tahun 2015 terdapat 65.447 kasus diare, dengan kata lain terdapat 23 kasus diare pada 1000 penduduk. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan asi eksklusif dengan diare pada balita di RW XIII dan RW XIV Kelurahan Ampel, Kecamatan Semampir,  Kota Surabaya  2017.Metode: Jenis penelitian adalah analitik observasional dengan desain cross sectional. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh balita yang berada di wilayah di RW XIII dan RW XIV di Kelurahan Ampel. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan simple random sampling didapatkan 39 responden. Data Primer dikumpulkan dengan wawancara dengan kuesioner, Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Analisis data menggunakan uji statistik Fisher’s Exact.Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian ASI eksklusif  memiliki hubungan dengan kejadian diare (p=0,000).Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara pemberian ASI Eksklusif dengan kejadian diare.

This study measures the association of family size and income level on spending and savings habits of rural Muslim households. A well-structured questionnaire was used to collect primary data, which was administered personally to the rural Muslim community in Dakshina Kannada district. A stratified random sampling technique was adopted and secondary data were collected from government officials. The study considered 398 rural Muslim community respondents from five taluks of Dakshina Kannada District. The study found that income and number of dependents in a family play an important role in attributing consumption and savings behavior.

Aims: The aim of the study was to ascertain the impact of the adoption of improved cassava technology on the output of farmers in Benue state, Nigeria. Study Design: The study used Survey design. Place and Duration of Study: The study was carried out in Benue State, between November 2018 and May 2019. Methodology: Cluster and simple random sampling techniques were used to select 366 respondents for the study. Primary data were collected using Semi-structured questionnaire. Objective 1 was achieved using descriptive statistics such as percentages, frequencies and means while Objective 2 was achieved using multiple regression model. Results: The findings showed that the adoption of improved cassava technologies influenced the farmers in a number of ways which included increased farmers income (56%:  2.10), acquired new skills (75%:); increased output (76%: ); expanded production (67%: ); ensured more food at home (food security) ( 85%: ); and increased well being of adopters (80%: ). The result also revealed that improved cassava technologies adoption have significant impact on farmers output in Benue State was accepted. This was indicated by F-stat value of 33.42 and F-probe value of 0.000 of less than 0.05, indicating that the estimated regression model adopted in this study was statistically significant at 1%. The R2 value of 0.75 implied that 75% of dependent variable (farmers output) was explained by the independent variables (TSM0505, TSM0581, TSM0572, TMS011368, TMS961632, TMS920326 TME 419, NR8082). Conclusion: Thus it was concluded that improved cassava technologies adoption have significant impact on farmers output in Benue State The study thus recommend that Extension agencies should ensure that improved cassava technologies are accessible by farmers and that farmers acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in using such technologies. This will ensure high adoption and high impact as well.

This study aims to determine the influence of reward on job satisfaction in PDAM Tirta Lontar,Kupang Regency. The method used in this study is a survey method with a quantitative approach.The sample in this study was taken using simple random sampling technique with Slovin method bytaking 67 respondents from the entire population. Primary data obtained by questionnaire filleddirectly by the respondent. The results of this study indicate that the reward is positive and significantwith a coefficient of 1.095 and a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Keywords: Job Satisfaction, Reward

The study assessed the use of electronic databases by academic staff of Bowen University, Nigeria. Descriptive analysis including percentage and frequency count was used to analyze the data. From the total population of 500 academic staff, a sample of 75 was taken using the simple random sampling technique. Questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection in this study. The questionnaire used was a closed ended or structured questionnaire divided into two sections. Section A captures the respondents’ bio-data while section B contained the structured items to achieve the research objectives. Five research questions were developed and answered by the study. The results show that majority of academic staff were aware of available e-databases, use it to improve teaching delivery and research output. Challenges encountered include inadequate time and an overwhelming workload. The study concludes by recommending a drastic reduction in workload, increasing bandwidth, hotspots and entrenching customer-friendly policies in the library.

Environmental pollution is the undesirable change in physical, chemical and biological characteristics of air, land and water. As a result of over-population, rapid industrializations, and other human activities like agriculture and deforestation etc., earth became loaded with diverse pollutants that were released as by-products. The paper is an attempt to identify the awareness on environmental pollution among BEd student teachers. The investigator adopted the survey method to study the awareness on environmental pollution among BEd student teachers. The study is based on primary data which is collected from 300 BEd student teachers in and around Coimbatore district using simple random sampling technique. The findings reveal that there is a difference in the level of awareness on environmental pollution among BEd student teachers.FCASR
