The paper attempted to explore the most effective factors of demographic outlined affecting employees’ motivation. With a view to empirical analysis data were collected from 400 bank employees. In the demographic issues gender, age, experience, pay, type and name of the bank, present and prior designations etc. were considered. For inferential statistics there were five regression models with ANOVA and coefficients models developed in the study. The dependent variables were namely work experience, present basic and gross salary, and initial basic and gross salary and 94%, 77%, 68%, 48% and 35% respectively explained by other independent predictors. The study found that work experience was strongly affected by age. On the other hand, present pay (basic and gross) was highly subjective by present designation and initial basic and gross salaries were prejudiced by initial or first joining designation of the employees. The study was also observed on findings that age, present and first joining designations modify employees’ motivation in the banking sector of Bangladesh (showed in Table 18).

Summary Outplacement is a rare HRM tool; hence there is also a lack of research on it. In turn, banks are treated as enterprises that implemented modern management solutions faster than other companies in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The bank is a good entity for outplacement testing. Both Poland and Russia belong to the CEE countries. The Polish economy has been promoted to a group of developed countries. The Polish banking sector relies much more on foreign capital than in Russia, which may be important for the development of outplacement. The main aim of this paper is to reveal and explain the differences in the popularity of outplacement in Russian and Polish banks. This article uses survey data collected in Poland and Russia from over 2,000 bank employees. Mann-Whitney test, correlations and discriminant analysis were used. Employees of the Polish banking sector more often than Russian workers noted the absence of any support for dismissed workers (Poland 30%, Russia 23%). Available outplacement forms differentiated in Poland and Russia. A little more focus on counselling support was observed in Poland, and on material support in Russia. The most important factors influencing outplacement were: occupied position, size of locality, sex, work experience in banking, country.

Abstract. Employing one correlational and two experimental studies, this paper examines the influence of attachment styles (secure, anxious, avoidant) on a person’s experience of equity in intimate relationships. While one experimental study employed a priming technique to stimulate the different attachment styles, the other involved vignettes describing fictitious characters with typical attachment styles. As the specific hypotheses about the single equity components have been developed on the basis of the attachment theory, the equity ratio itself and the four equity components (own outcome, own input, partner’s outcome, partner’s input) are analyzed as dependent variables. While partners with a secure attachment style tend to describe their relationship as equitable (i.e., they give and take extensively), partners who feel anxious about their relationship generally see themselves as being in an inequitable, disadvantaged position (i.e., they receive little from their partner). The hypothesis that avoidant partners would feel advantaged as they were less committed was only supported by the correlational study. Against expectations, the results of both experiments indicate that avoidant partners generally see themselves (or see avoidant vignettes) as being treated equitably, but that there is less emotional exchange than is the case with secure partners. Avoidant partners give and take less than secure ones.

E-learning has become a global phenomenon and it is the central theme of many industries and organizations for the additional method of training which can complement traditional methods of learning. The practices of E-learning and Learning management system (LMS) in the banking sector make the drastic changes in the employee performance and their knowledge regarding job in the modern banking structure. This study provides a comprehensive body of knowledge about LMS and e-learning, in general, within the public and private bank in India. The main objective of this paper to understand and analyze the attitude of employees towards E-learning practices in banking sector in Shivamogga district. The data was analyzed by using exploratory factor analysis, based on the responses received from a random the sample 50 of the bank employees working in the private sector banks.

AbstractIn this paper, we study the effect a CEO’s international work experience has on his or her compensation. By combining human capital theory with a resource dependence and a resource-based perspective, we argue that international work experience translates into higher pay. We also suggest that international work experience comprises several dimensions that affect CEO compensation: duration, timing and breadth of stays abroad. With data from Europe’s largest stock market firms, we provide evidence that the longer the international work experiences and the more numerous they are, the higher a CEO’s compensation. While, based on our theoretical arguments, we expect to find that later international work experiences pay off for CEOs, our empirical analysis shows that earlier international work experiences are particularly valuable in terms of compensation. In addition, our data support the argument that maturity allows a CEO to take advantage of the skills, knowledge and competencies obtained via international experience—and to receive a higher payoff. With our study, we improve the understanding of how different facets of a CEO’s background shape executive remuneration.

Responses from a questionnaire survey of wine and tourism businesses operating in regional clusters were analysed using factor analysis. These suggested three factor scores relating to entrepreneurial behaviour; four factor scores relating to cluster activities and attributes; and three factors relating to the respondents' personal characteristics. The three entrepreneurial behaviour factor scores were interpreted as: innovator, calculator and venturer. These were used as dependent variables in regression models. The independent variables were the cluster and personal characteristics factor scores, industry and place. The central result was that the cluster activity variables did not have a significant impact on the innovator behaviour variable, which contradicts the standard view. Cluster activities and attributes were found to attract entrepreneurs of the calculator kind, and to a lesser extent, of the venturer kind. Place did seem to offer an attraction to entrepreneurs beyond those offered by the intensities of the cluster activities and attributes.

In today's challenging economic climate it is more important than ever for companies to acquire comparable competitive advantage in their market. While previous research has investigated the performance measurement of R&D as a whole organization, very little research has been done into the performance management for just the research function itself. This, however, is of particular interest to larger organizations. This paper (1) introduces a framework for performance measurement for industrial research, and (2) presents a set of clusters, representing the content dimension for measuring research organizations. Based on the clusters, we were able to evaluate the extent to which performance measurement in practice in different companies can be compared. We discovered that the clusters follow a particular consistent distribution across organizations when the clusters are ranked by importance. For this empirical analysis, data was collected through in-depth case studies including more than 60 interviews and thorough document analyses.

This essay examines young Venezuelans’ experiences of daily insecurities and critical situations and their responses using the framework of ontological security. The study uses the concept of ‘multiple youths,’ proposed by Latin American scholars, to link the ideas of security and identity, to explore the different intersubjective understandings of these notions in the lives of university students, and to explain their choice of conflict as part of the ordinary. Empirical analysis shows how routinization of conflict has a strong psychological impact on Venezuelan youth’s intersubjective identity formation and interpretation of events as ordinary or threatening. The routinization of conflict is a response to maintaining ontological security, providing a sense of constancy and continuity since it has become part of the routines of university students in Venezuela. In addition, conflict helps eliminate and/or delegitimize the ‘other,’ hence hindering dialogue and a negotiated solution to the current political impasse.

This paper provides an empirical analysis of factors affecting Bank Interest Margins in eight countries of the South‑East European (SEE) region between 2000 and 2014. The purpose of this paper is to examine and investigate the main drivers of Bank Interest Rate Margins across selected countries throughout the SEE region. Also, the study explored the relationship between the dependent variable Interest Rate Spread (IRS – as a proxy variable for measuring variation in Bank Interest Rate Margins) and a set of selected banks’ specific variables in SEE by employing panel data estimation methodology. This research is based on aggregate data for the whole banking sector of each country. In line with some expectations, our findings confirm the importance of credit risk, bank concentration operative efficiency, and inflation expectations in determining Bank Interest Rate Margins. Interestingly, in contrast to the majority of recent empirical research, the study found an inverse relationship between the bank concentration variable and Bank Interest Rate Margins as well as between the operational efficiency variable and Bank Interest Rate Margins. Also, the study could not find statistically significant evidence that Bank Interest Rate Margins are determined by output growth, bank profitability (measured by ROA) or liquidity risk.

Purpose This paper aims to investigate the relationship between corporate governance and auditors switching of listed companies on the Tehran Stock Exchange. Design/methodology/approach To achieve the objectives of this study, 12 hypotheses developed which and tests the relationship between corporate governance and selecting and switching auditors in Iran during 2008-20014 by selecting 116 listed companies on the Tehran Stock Exchange. To test the hypotheses, the cross-sectional time-series nature of research variables data, panel analysis is used. Also, to investigate the relationship between independent and dependent variables in each year, the logistic regression is used. Findings The results of the study indicate that there is a weak relationship between corporate governance auditors switching. Therefore, it could be concluded that there are some other effective factors on which selecting and switching auditors in studied companies are more dependent. Originality/value The current study is almost the first study which has been conducted in Iran, so the results of the study may be beneficial to the Iranian conditions as well as other developing countries.

AbstractAt the time of financial crisis, one of the influential institutions in society is banking. Banking sector provide soft loans to create productive employment for the community. On the other hand, customers also need the liquidity from bank-ing. These stakeholders' needs can be met by looking at the performance of bank-ing. This study aims to determine differences in the performance of sharia banking and conventional banking during economic crisis. This study uses t-test to analyze the data. From the research, it was found that in general, the performance of conventional banking is better than sharia banking in the economic crisis.
