In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the functioning of the mediator profession in various aspects of its effectiveness. This implies the need for research in all dimen-sions of his work. Much has been said about the mediation procedure, about the ways of conducting it, about ethics and even the desired qualities of a mediator, but it has not yet been examined whether his/her work is safe, and if not, what constitutes the greatest threat in it. The work of a mediator is distinguished not only by specific technical and organizational features, but also based on unique competences, skills and knowledge. The role of the mediator is to perform specific tasks that are characterized by high social usefulness, and his activity is primarily focused on working with peo-ple. The article describes the specificity of the mediator's profession and discusses the pilot studies carried out among professionally active mediators in Poland in terms of the safety of their work, in general and psychological aspects.

This article reflects the peculiarities of the psychological connection between a financial fraudster and his potential victim. The process of forming a stressful situation depending on the type of financial fraud is described, the reasons for its occurrence and the result of implementation associated with a decrease in critical thinking are indicated. The essence is also revealed, including from the perspective of the relationship between the fraudster and the potential victim, and the types of financial fraud and practical examples of their manifestation are considered. The psychological portrait of a financial fraudster and his transformation in connection with the changing preferences of consumers of financial services are described. The role of the Bank of Russia in reducing the activity of financial fraud and ensuring the stability of the financial market is reflected.

An analysis of the psychological aspects of the legal concept of competency/fitness to stand trial draws attention to the central role of understanding. The rationale of certain basic requirements for the construct validity of a psychometric test of understanding in people with mental retardation is presented, and a test that meets those requirements is described.

The theses reveal the problem of the connection between psychology and linguistics on the basis of translation activities. The role of the human factor of a translator is revealed, and the bonds between the type of translation and the characteristics of the person who does it is established For this purpose, a psycholinguistic experiment was carried out with the participation of 50 people to demonstrate the dependence of the psychological characteristics of the translator and the quality of the translated text using comparative analysis of translation. The data has confirmed the hypothesis about psychological phenomenon of translation.

Kisspeptin or GPR-54 is a product of KISS 1 gene regulating the production of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH), luteinizing (LH) as well follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). Both LH and FSH are important hormones for reproduction in animals as well in humans. The recognition of Kisspeptin has a landmark bearing in reproductive biology. Few recent pilot studies have convincingly proven it to be a promising molecule in treating infertile couples especially those having hypogonadotropic hypogonadism not responding to conventional treatment.

SummaryNeuropils are compartments in the nervous system containing dense networks of neurites and synapses which function as information processing centers. Neuropil formation requires structural and functional organization at and across different scales, achieving single-axon precision for circuits that carry out the core functions while simultaneously accommodating variability among individuals [1; 2; 3; 4]. How these organizational features emerge over development is poorly understood. The nerve ring is the primary neuropil in C. elegans, and its structure is thoroughly mapped [5; 6]. We show that prior to axon outgrowth, nerve ring neurons form a ring of multicellular rosettes with surrounding cells to organize the stratified nerve ring structure [7; 8]. Axon bundles which correspond to future nerve ring strata grow from rosette centers, travel along the ring on “bridge” cells that are simultaneously engaged in adjacent rosettes, and assemble into a topographic scaffold of the nerve ring. SAX-3/Robo is required for proper rosette formation and outgrowth from the center. Furthermore, axon contact sites that form early in development are more conserved than the later ones, indicating a temporal component in neuropil structural variability. Our results reveal an unexpected and critical role of collective cell behaviors prior to innervation to pattern a complex neuropil and orchestrate its formation across scales.

Remittances, letters, qiaokan, visits, and the sending of bones have been discussed in the Chapter 5, as were the organizations and practices that facilitated these. In this chapter is examined the less tangible, often psychological aspects, such as the motivations that lay behind the tangible elements. Underpinning the remittances and stores, the families in the qiaoxiang, and the years of effort in the destinations was the necessity to earn an income. The nature of these incomes, what these incomes meant to those in the qiaoxiang, and the jobs that secured these incomes are discussed. Considerations of income are incomplete, however, without also considering what was done with the money and why. The second part of this chapter will therefore discuss the role of prestige and social status in the establishment and maintenance of the qiaoxiang links.

Based on an overview of previous literature on business media, which shows a substantial degree of fragmentation, this chapter proposes an integrative theoretical framework using the concept of media logic defined as the technological, cultural, and organizational features that influence how management ideas are produced, distributed, and consumed. Considering the recent technological changes brought on by social media, the role of business media cannot be understood without considering the effects of transmediality and multimodality. Defined respectively as the movement of content through different types of media, these elements have an important impact on the nature of management ideas. The authors question the predominance of well-bounded ideas in a new technological convergence context with increasing loss of gatekeeping control to user-generated content. They propose that a renewed set of theoretical frameworks and methodological tools will allow business media research to understand the contemporary evolution of management ideas.

Whilst there have been a number of reports about the psychological features of women who develop carcinoma of the breast, there have been no such studies of men. This paper details two reports of men with this unusual condition. In both cases, this illness in the male followed a similar condition which occurred in the breast on the same side in a woman with whom each had an intense relationship. That this could be considered a more than coincidental event is explored. The role of identification with a significant other in determining site and type of illness is discussed, as is a hypothetical mechanism whereby such identification could facilitate the development of the cancers in these cases.
