Long dan Xie gan pill is a traditional complex compound preparation with a long history for treatment of diseases, including hepatocolic hygropyrexia, dizziness, tinnitus, and deafness. Quality of products from different manufacturers may be varied. Since the current standard could not control the quality of products in a comprehensive and effective way, this study aimed at establishing a practical and convenient approach for holistic quality control of the preparation. This study included both qualitative and quantitative works to get information on the overall composition and main components, respectively. As a result, HPLC fingerprint (UV 240 nm) similarities of all fifty samples were in the range of 0.65∼0.99. Results indicated that there was a difference among products from different manufacturers. Additionally, ten characteristic peaks of the fingerprint were tentatively identified by LC-MS. Further chemometrics analysis was utilized to evaluate the products from different manufacturers. At the same time, the HPLC (UV 285 nm) multicomponent quantification result showed that contents of gentiopicrin, baicalin, baicalein, and wogonin were in the range of 0.61–5.40, 1.96–5.33, 0.10–3.40, and 0.046–1.16 mg·g−1, respectively. Data analysis verified the main different component of baicalein from the fingerprint statistical analysis. It is worth mentioning that the qualitative fingerprint and quantitative multicomponent determination were simultaneously accomplished by HPLC-DAD with dual channels. The study provided sound basis for improving quality control standards. This study also provided practical strategy for overall quality control of traditional Chinese medicines.

Abstract This study aims to propose a quality control method for digitized versions of manuscript documents that will be relevant for paleographical and codicological analysis. The methodology applied consisted of a systematic review of papers related to automated analysis of the physical characteristics of handwritings and document supports in the field of digital paleography, as well as of the numerous standards that have been emerging in the field of image engineering for quality assessment in digital image recordings. We also worked with a sample of 275 digital representations of pages or double pages of manuscript documentation dating to between the 12th and 17th centuries. As a result of this study, we propose a taxonomy of physical attributes of the handwritings and of their documentary supports that must be represented in the digital image with a high level of fidelity and without any distortions that could lead scholars to erroneous interpretations of the physical and formal characteristics of the original documents. On the basis of this taxonomy, we identified a set of typical distortions caused by digitization processes that can affect the recording quality of the physical attributes previously proposed, as well as a set of parameters and metrics for measuring quality that can be used to create a sufficiently exhaustive quality model. We also detected a series of limitations which, if not properly managed, can compromise the effectiveness of these types of controls.

Quality being the competitiveness of the most important for the company's products and also because the quality has been the hope and desire of everyone, especially the consumer. Customers are not going to focus on a product / service only in terms of price but in good quality inherent in the product or service. Viewed from the importance of the quality of products, each company needs to spend quality, cost of quality is the cost refers to the cost incurred to prevent or expenses incurred as a result of producing a quality product. Efforts to improve the quality of the product will not run without the cost of quality control to overcome the problems faced by the company, where quality control can help the company determine the feasibility of the quality of products based on control limits have been set. This study aims to see how the cost of quality control and to analyze the efficiency of the implementation cost of quality control conducted by Aksan Bakery in Manado. Analysis of the data used is descriptive analysis with qualitative approach and using methods of presentation quality cost ratio analysis to assess the efficiency cost of quality. Based on analysis of the cost of quality control conducted by the company it appears that the cost of quality control conducted by the company do not meet the quality standards that have been set at 2.5% of sales, for the cost of quality issued by the company is greater than a predetermined quality standards, namely amounting to 13.89% of sales. This may imply that the cost of quality control has not been carried out efficiently. Keywords : Efficiency , Cost of Quality

The article considers the problem of assessing the quality of food products and the process of their production using the example of determining the mass fraction of sodium chloride in baked pork. Salt is an important component, the content of which is regulated by standards and technical regulations and affects all types of indicators: organoleptic, quality and safety. Standard methods of sampling and determining the mass fraction of sodium chloride - the methods of Mora and Folgrade, which establish the average value of the measured index are analyzed. As a result of the conducted studies, a method for estimating the distribution of components in a food product based on the second Fick law, which takes into account the nonstationary nature of the flow and provides for the possibility of changing the flow of atoms in the diffusion process, is proposed. The article provides a mathematical justification for the proposed methodology. Based on the methods, regulated by standards, the method allows to demonstrate clearly the values of the component content in the product mass. The developed method gives a more complete picture of the quality of products, allows us to draw conclusions about the quality of the process and the causes that affect it.This information will allow to develop a set of measures to ensure a high level of competitiveness of the food product.

Zipper manufacturer always requires Y type zipper to design clothes. To meet the huge global demand, the high-precision forming process is required to improve production speed and production accuracy. The basic component of Y type zipper is the metal Y type teeth. The poor design of drawing process without optimization will result in bad quality of products. The most common defects of Y type teeth drawing process included (1) the teeth size error caused zipper sudden opening, two rows of Y type teeth cannot be close together; (2) zipper does not pull smoothly, it needs more pull force; (3) too much residual material cause higher cost and poor performance; (4) unstable quality cannot reach the standard of high level zipper. This article uses the finite element method to simulate the drawing process of copper Y type teeth. Computer-aided analysis software ABAQUS CAE is applied to execute drawing process simulation analysis and to obtain the optimal design parameters of drawing. Based on the best modeling of the FEM prediction, the complicated relationships between the experiment drawing Y-slot die parameters and the max. deformed can be obtained, the max. deformed error is 7%.
