The purpose of this research are identified and analyzed the forms of learning activities that are implemented in MTs Negeri 8 Banyuwangi by the Peer Lesson learning strategy, the obstacles experienced and the solution of it. The type of research used qualitative research methods with purposive sampling technique have done in MTs Negeri 8 Banyuwangi. The Researchers use source and methode triangulations as data validity. Data analysis techniques using structured interviews, active participatory observation and documentation. The results that the Peer Lesson learning strategy is learning that focuses students as another student tutors with the step begin of preparation, implementation, and evaluation. However, some obstacles in this implementation include the lack of readiness of students to participate in learning, lack of self-confidence in students, more prominent students who are active than those who are less active, learning practices related to the duration of learning are a little less appropriate because of it longer duration compared to initial planning. And it has been found several solutions to these obstacles include suggestions for students to always read the material to be discussed, the motivation of the teacher before learning, giving students the task of making a question and summarizing the material being discussed individually, maximizing the skills and expertise possessed by the teacher.

ABSTRACT Objective: to know the contributions of simulation regarding the training of caregivers of children with special healthcare needs, in the preparation for hospital discharge. Method: descriptive-exploratory study, with qualitative approach, carried out with caregivers of children with special healthcare needs. The study was developed in a simulation center of a public university in the South of Brazil, in partnership with a state reference children's hospital. The training program was based on simulations, using low, medium and high fidelity simulators, in which 15 caregivers participated. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and submitted to content analysis, in its thematic modality. Results: two categories emerged: simulation as a learning strategy and implications of training for home care. The simulations allowed the improvement of procedural skills and coping with possible complications in the home setting. Feelings of fear and anxiety were initially triggered, especially in the high fidelity simulation. However, after the training, the caregivers felt relieved, self-confident and satisfied with their performance, highlighting the importance of the support provided during the simulations. They reported having greater confidence to perform the procedures on the child and face the challenges of home care. Conclusion: the simulation was considered a valid strategy for the training of caregivers, stimulating empowerment and self-confidence in the face of complex care required by a child with special healthcare needs. The study innovates by exploring the potentialities of simulation in this context, bringing important contributions to qualify the home care of this clientele.

This research aimed to discover the relationships between students' self-confidence and their English-speaking performance. In our research, self-confidence was divided into three components which are affective confidence, behavioral confidence, and cognitive confidence. In addition, speaking performance included eight components which are vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, fluency, coherence, comprehension, task, and content. A sample of 150 English-majored students at a university in Vietnam was surveyed in this study by using a convenience sampling technique, and then conducting semi-structured interviews to seek for qualitative information from 10 participants out of 150. The result from our study showed that there are significant relationships between the two variables. The more confident the students are, the more accomplished they would be in the presenting procedure since they have superior cognition and understand how to modify their learning methods to build a comprehensive individual in learning English language. We expect that these findings can help students adjust their learning methods to improve their self-confidence as well as English speaking performance and by that way, universities can add more speaking-related subjects so that students can have more opportunities to speak and learn more speaking skills.

Article visualizations:
