      The traffic performance of the commercial and educational areas is influenced by the volume flow and road capacity. One of the impacts on traffic performance is side friction. The purpose of this study was to compare traffic flow, side friction, road capacity and performance in the commercial and educational areas by degree of saturation. Analyze and assess the relationship between side constraints on volume, capacity and degree of saturation.      This study uses secondary data from previous studies. Jalan Dr. Wahidin and Jalan Panca Usaha as commercial area roads. Jalan Gajah Mada and Jalan Bung Karno as educational areas.      The results of the analysis show that the roads in the commercial area have side barriers, high volume and degree of saturation and low capacity. The level of Service E. Meanwhile, education area roads have low volume, high capacity and low degree of saturation. The level of service C. From the regression analysis, the side friction has a very significant effect on the volume, capacity and degree of saturation. It can be seen from the value (r) in the range 0.7 <r <0.9 indicating a strong correlation and 0.9 <r <1 indicating a very strong correlation

Jendral Soeharto street is one of the streets in Kupang. On this street, traffic jams often occur during peak hours. This study aims to determine the capacity and performance of existing traffic on Jalan Jendral Suharto. This study was analyzed using the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI2014). Traffic performance analysis begins by calculating traffic flow at peak hours, road side friction, road capacity, degree of saturation, and analysis of space mean speed. The results of the traffic performance analysis show that the degree of saturation (DS) or v/c ratio in the existing conditions has a value of > 0.75, which is 0.98.

Jalan Martapura Lama is an alternative road connecting Banjarmasin, Martapura and Banjarbaru city and it is under the administration of Banjar Regency. The existence of Sungai Lulut Market in Kilometer 05 consistently causing congestion to the area, especially during peak hours. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of market activities on the performance of Jalan Martapura Lama KM 05 indicated by the degree of saturation (DS) and the value of the level of road service. The method of primary data collection was by conducting traffic surveys and measuring geometric conditions in the site manually on Tuesday to Thursday, 06-08 February 2018 during the morning rush hour (07.00-08.00 a.m), the noon hour (12.00-14.00 p.m) and afternoon rush hour (16.00 to 18.00 p.m) while the secondary data was obtained from the internet. The calculation refers to Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI) 1997. From the calculation results it can be concluded that the impact of market activities on the performance of Jalan Martapura Lama KM 05 indicated by the degree of saturation (DS) and the value of road level of service with the optimum DS is 0,68 with the value of level of road service is C on Thursday’s afternoon rush hour and the minimum DS is 1.34 with the value of level of road service is F on Wednesday’s morning rush hour. With a total frequency of occurrences and side friction class of 571 frequencies, the maksimum friction is incoming and outgoing vehicles on area alongside roads (EEVs) of 446 occurrences on Tuesday in the morning rush hour.

The highway is one of the infrastructure for the smooth traffic. One part of the road that are considered necessary to be analyzed and evaluated is an intersection. Three Gadut intersection is non signalized intersection. The traffic flow is quite dense, and lack of discipline of road user factors competing space to pass the crossing, resulting in congestion is very influential on traffic conditions at peak hours in the morning, afternoon and evening. Prior to conducting the survey, the first to do is survey the condition of the intersection that includes geometric characteristics and traffic volume. From the analysis of environmental data, side friction factor to the junction of three Gadut is the criteria being. Rated capacity (C) the smallest is 3706.3 smp/hour, the degree of saturation of 1.1 smp/hour. This value is over the limit permitted values manually indonesian road capacity of 0.8 to 0.9 (1.1> 0.9), it is concluded that the traffic flow is the crossroads of three Gadut saturated traffic flow. The queue probability value between 128.8% - 157.4% with a total delay largest average 11.57 seconds/smp. It is concluded that the chances of a queue at the intersection of three Gadut very large, so it could cause congestion.

Klampis Jaya Road, Surabaya City, has a fairly heavy traffic flow, especially during working hours. This resulted in congestion on Klampis Jaya Road and not a few motorists who violated traffic regulations such as turning around Mleto Road. This study aimed to determine the current traffic flow performance and in 2024 at the intersection on Klampis Jaya Road, Surabaya City, predicted the traffic flow performance around the road and intersection on Klampis Jaya Road Surabaya City. The research method used was non-signalized intersection analysis using the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual. The calculation of the traffic performance of the four intersections in Klampis Jaya showed the Degree of Saturation (DS) and Service Level (TP) of each intersection. Traffic performance for the four intersections in 2021 was DS = 0.752 and TP = C (Enough), with the characteristics of stable traffic flow, was restricted movement. The traffic performance for the four intersections in 2024 was DS = 0.95 and TP = D (Less), with the characteristics of traffic flow stable movement being limited.

The number of people utilizing the city market facility is likely to increase day by day. It causes  the market conditions to become congested. Therefore, it cannot be denied that  the  existing main roads are definetly affected by this condition. For this reason, the performance of the roads needs to be further reviewed since they are openly accessed by the community also due tothe influence of Teratai Market activities. A descriptive method is used in this studyby surveying the conditions of the Komyos Sudarso road. The calculation  is carried out based on the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI) 1997. The results of this study shows that the activities of the Teratai Market greatly affect road capacity resulting in the increased of traffic volume. When the market operates, the trafficbecomes denser as  such a large number of vehicles are commuting on the road. The observation area is included in a commercial area with high roadside activity as evidenced by a side friction survey which shows a high side friction class count with a weighted frequency of 508.3. The results of the road performance show that Jalan Komyos Sudarso is still not saturated, in which the DS value is 0.34 and the average speed of light vehicles is 42 km/hour.

The unsignalized intersection which is located in Cileungsi District, precisely on Jalan Cileungsi Setu and Jalan Raya Narogong, is a commercial area with dense economic activity and densely populated settlements. As a result of the dense activity, congestion occurs due to the large number of vehicles passing the road, especially during peak hours, namely the morning and evening. Seeing this problem, an analysis is needed that aims to determine the volume, performance of roads, and unmarked intersections as measured by capacity, degree of saturation, and level of service.  In analyzing this study using the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI) 1997 method which will determine the performance of roads and intersections without signs. The data needed in this research are primary data in the form of geometric road data, traffic volume, vehicle speed data, and side friction. As well as secondary data in the form of location maps, land use, and population data. From the results of data analysis and processing, the busiest traffic flow at the intersection occurred on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 17.30 - 18.30 WIB, the saturation degree value was 1.17 with LOS F. By doing an alternative solution, the saturation degree value was 0.68 and LOS B with placing signs are prohibited from stopping around intersections, and prohibiting the flow of traffic turning right either from the main road D to the Minor C road or from the Minor C road to the main road B. On Jalan Raya Narogong, the degree of saturation is 0.74 LOS C service, this shows that the road sections do not exceed the figure required by MKJI 1997, namely ≤ 0.75.

This research was conducted to determine the peak traffic volume, road capacity, degree of saturation, analyze traffic performance, find out the prediction of the next 5 years, and to evaluate the traffic performance around the Hypermart shopping center that occurs in the real situation. The method used is by library research, looking for references from previous research and direct observation. The peak traffic volume is 1469 SMP / hour for the first location and 1104.4 SMP / hour for the second location. The capacity of the road section is 4699.73 SMP / hour. For the analysis of the degree of saturation of the first location of 0.31 SMP / hour and 0.23 SMP / hour in the second location. For the next 5 years prediction in that region, it is predicted to increase by 8.93% so that the volume of vehicles will rise to 2124.76 SMP / hour, and for the degree of saturation of 0.45, which means that the traffic service in this region is included in class C in 2024.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui volume puncak lalu lintas, kapasitas jalan,derajat kejenuhan,  menganalisis kinerja lalu lintas, mengetahui prediksi 5 tahun ke depan serta untuk mengevaluasi kinerja lalu lintas di sekitar pusat perbelanjaan Hypermart yang terjadi disituasi rill. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan cara studi pustaka, mencari referensi dari penelitian terdahulu serta melakukan observasi langsung. Volume puncak lalu lintas didapatkan nilai 1469 smp/jam untuk lokasi pertama dan 1104.4 smp/jam untuk lokasi kedua.Kapasitas ruas jalan sebesar 4699.73 smp/jam.Untuk analisa derajat kejenuhan lokasi pertama sebesar 0.31 smp/jam dan 0.23 smp/jam pada lokasi kedua.Untuk prediksi 5 tahun kedepan pada wilayah tersebut diprediksi akan mengalami kenaikan sebesar 8.93% sehingga volume kendaraan akan naik menjadi 2124.76 smp/jam, dan untuk nilai derajat kejenuhan sebesar 0.45 yang artinya pelayanan lalu lintas wilayah ini termasuk ke dalam kelas C pada tahun 2024.

AbstractUnsignalised 3-way intersection at Jati Raya – Kahuripan Nirvana streets is an area with high traffic congestion. It caused by the increasing of vehicle volume at rush hour. In addition, the surrounded area of the intersection is a commercial area with a dense population and the intersection is also the main access to the toll road. To deal with these conditions, management and traffic engineering need to be done. The method of field surveys is conducted to obtain primary data and the existing condition. All the traffic data is obtained from the number of vehicles passing through the intersection for four days (27-30 May 2016). Then, all the data is recapitulated and calculated using the formula of Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual 1997. As the result, it can be concluded that the 3-way intersection at Jati Raya – Kahuripan Nirvana has the degree of saturation (DS) 1.23. This value is far from the one suggested by MKJI 1997 for the unsignalized 3-way intersection, i.e. DS = 0.85. Therefore, management and traffic engineering are conducted to overcome these conditions. Hal ini disebabkan oleh pertumbuhan lalu lintas yang cukup tinggi, selain itu disekitar simpang merupakan daerah komersil, pemukiman penduduk dan akses menuju jalan tol. Dalam mengatasi permasalahan pada simpang digunakan manajemen dan rekayasa lalu lintas. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei lapangan untuk mendapatkan data primer dan kondisi eksisting. Data lalu lintas diperoleh dari jumlah kendaraan yang melintasi simpang selama empat hari (27-30 Mei 2016). Kemudian data tersebut diolah dengan perhitungan Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia (MKJI) 1997. Dari hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa simpang jalan Jati Raya – Kahuripan Nirwana memiliki nilai Derajat Kejenuhan (DS) = 1,23 dengan Level Of Service LOS (F) . Nilai itu jauh dari nilai yang disarankan oleh MKJI 1997 untuk simpang tak bersinyal yaitu DS = 0,85. Oleh karena itu dilakukan beberapa alternatif solusi manajemen dan rekayasa lalu lintas. Jl. Raya Nginden - Jl. Raya Panjang Jiwo intersection is an intersection that has a high density level, especially at peak hour, it can be seen from the length of the queue. The aim of this study is to determine the intersection performance in existing conditions and the next 5 (five) years and give a recommendation for improving an intersection performance. For analyzing intersection traffic performance using Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines method (PKJI 2014). Primary data in this study are traffic volume, intersection geometric conditions, and cycle times. While secondary data in this study are population data, vehicle growth data, and traffic data from CCTV. Data retrieval in one day of weekday and one day of weekend. The results show that the degree of saturation (DJ) of existing (in 2018) on Wednesday, North approach is 1.45, South 1.35, West 0.76, East 1.49 and existing DJ on Sunday approaching North 0.80, South 0.88, West 0.69 and East 1.12. For traffic performance in the next five years (in 2023) with existing cycle and phase times, DJ on Wednesday, North approach is 2.36, South 2.20, West 1.24, East 2.43 and DJ values on Sunday, North approach is 1.30, South 1.42, West 0.95 and East 1.81. For traffic performance improving at the intersection is made an alternative with changing the cycle time and movement phase which show the results in existing DJ (2018) on Wednesday for North approach is 0.86, South 0.92, West 0.77, East 0.43 and DJ on Sunday for North approach is 0.52 , South 0.67, West 0.52 and East 0.28. For the next five years' traffic performance (in 2023), DJ on Wednesday for North approach is 1.45, South 1.67, West 1.35, East 0.91 and existing DJ on Sunday for North approach is 0.88, South 1.22, West 0.92 and East 0.60.

Aktivitas putar balik arah pada beberapa bukaan median yang tersedia di sepanjang ruas Jalan Letjen Hertasning disinyalir sebagai pemicu kemacetan lalu lintas sebab pergerakan ini dapat menghambat pergerakan kendaraan pada kedua arah lalu lintas saat kendaraan memerlukan ruang manuver tambahan untuk menyelesaikan gerakan putar balik arah secara penuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pergerakan putar balik arah terhadap kinerja ruas jalan pada Jalan Letjen Hertasning Kota Makassar. Survei lalu lintas dilakukan pada lima pos pengamatan yang dipilih pada lima bukaan median pertama Jalan Letjen Hertasning yang berbatasan langsung dengan Jl. AP Pettarani selama tiga hari untuk segmen jam puncak pagi, siang, dan sore hari. Kinerja ruas jalan dianalisis mengikuti prosedur pada Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa antrian kendaraan saat bermanuver untuk memutar arah khususnya pada jam puncak setara dengan panjang 9 kendaraan atau sepanjang 36 m. Antrian ini menyebabkan kapasitas ruas jalan berkurang sebesar 2,5-10% dari kapasitas sesungguhnya yang menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan kecepatan, peningkatan derajat kejenuhan, dan penurunan tingkat pelayanan ruas jalan Letjen Hertasning. The U-turn movement activities at several median openings available along the Letjen Hertasning road arguably is one of the triggering factors for the occurrence of traffic congestion on that road section because this movement creates hindrances to traffic flow in the same lane and the contra flow when the vehicle requires additional space to complete the movement. The purpose of this study is to reveal the consequence caused by the U-turn movement to the traffic performance of Letjen Hertasning road in Makassar City. The traffic surveys were conducted at five selected observation points at the first five median openings of Jalan Letjen Hertasning which is directly adjacent to Jl. AP Pettarani for three days at three peak hours segment which are in the morning, afternoon, and evening. The analysis of road performance follows the procedures in the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual. Research result shown that the length of vehicles queuing to finish the U-turn movement during the peak hours reached 9 vehicles with a queue length of 36 m. This queue causes the capacity of the road to decrease by 2.5-10% of the actual capacity which causes a decrease in speed, an increase in the degree of saturation, and a reduction in the level of service of the road.
