The potential of Islamic banking in Indonesia is overgrowing along with the increasing public understanding of Islam. In Islamic Banking, various products have been offered to attract the interest of the public. However, the most popular product is savings because it is the safest product for high yields. Mudharabah deposits are fundraising products that provide the largest proportion of total third-party funds. This study aims to compare the results of a comparison between finances represented by the Non-Performing Financing (NPF) and the Return on Investment (ROI) for the profit-sharing in mudharabah deposits. The type of method used in this research is the quantitative descriptive method. The data source is obtained from secondary data sourced from monthly reports issued through all Islamic banks' websites in Indonesia or the official BI website from 2008 to 2017. The results of this study indicate the NPF variable is not following the short and long-term plans for profit sharing of deposits mudharabah. Moreover, the ROI variable has a significant positive effect on the short and long-term results of mudharabah deposits. This research concludes that in the short and long term, NPF is not intended for results. It relates to the bank having a good reserve and analyzing the issues that need to be considered. Meanwhile, ROI is attractive towards revenue sharing because more increase the bank revenue gives the rising impact of income.

<em>This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the growth of Islamic banking assets in Indonesia in the short and long term. <em>This study uses monthly secondary data from 2012 to 2016. The analytical model used is the Error Correction Model (ECM). The advantages of this model can explain short-term and long-term behavior. <em>The results showed the Non-Performing Financing (NPF) variable in the short term had a negative and significant relationship while in the long run it had a negative and not significant relationship to the growth of Islamic banking assets in Indonesia. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) variable in the short and long term has a positive and not significant relationship to the growth of Islamic banking assets in Indonesia. Operating Cost Variable to Operating Income (BOPO) in the short and long term has a positive and not significant relationship to the growth of Islamic banking assets in Indonesia. Indonesian Islamic Bank Certificate Variables (SBIS) in the short term have a positive and significant relationship while in the long run have a positive and not significant relationship to the growth of Islamic banking assets in Indonesia.</em></em></em>

Financial literacy is a very important element of knowledge for the economic progress of a country because it is closely related to public interest, the higher the level of public financial literacy, the easier it is for the financial system to be accepted in the community to be implemented and contribute to the economic growth of a region, because with The high level of financial literacy in the community, the easier it will be for financial institutions to provide financial access to the public. the enactment of qanun no 11 of 2018 regarding Islamic financial institutions in Aceh has begun since January 4, 2019, all financial institutions in Aceh. In this study, the data used is secondary data obtained from scientific references as quoted from journals, books texts, working papers, national and international scientific forums and other sources deemed relevant to this research. the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that nationally the financial literacy of the Indonesian people is still relatively low, but for the Aceh region itself it is higher than the level of public understanding of sharia finance in Aceh which is above the average public understanding of sharia banking nationally. The interest of the Acehnese people in transacting in Islamic banking is currently increasing, as can be seen from the increasing graph in terms of assets, financing, and third party funds, especially in 2021.

The main problems of Third Parties Fund and profit and loss sharing financing in Islamic banking in Indonesia are influenced by external factors have known as macroeconomics. Third parties funds as an intervening variable are what distinguish research conducted by researchers from previous research. The method used in this study uses the path analysis method with a trimming model. Processing data using IBM SPSS 25 tools. The results of this study indicate Macroeconomics simultaneously affects Third-Parties Funds. Partially, the BI Rate, GDP, and IHSG have an effect on Third Party Funds seen from the probability value 0.000 <0.05, where only inflation does not affect Third-Parties Funds. Meanwhile, the macroeconomy simultaneously influences the profit-sharing where the effect partially shows that inflation, the BI Rate, IHSG and Third-Parties Funds have a significant effect on profit-sharing financing. From the above findings, the macroeconomy indirectly through Third-Parties Funds is better for profit-sharing financing, because the ups and downs of Third Parties Funds significantly affect profit-sharing financing in Islamic banking.

Objective: Approximately one out of five patients with Graves' disease (GD) undergoes a thyroidectomy after a mean period of 18 months of medical treatment. This retrospective and non-randomized study from a teaching hospital compares short- and long-term results of total (TT) and subtotal thyroidectomies (ST) for this disease. Methods: From 1987 to 1997, 94 patients were operated for GD. Thirty-three patients underwent a TT (mostly since 1993) and 61 a ST (keeping 4 to 8 grams of thyroid tissue - mean 6 g). All patients had received propylthiouracil and/or neo-mercazole and were in a euthyroid state at the time of surgery; they also took potassium iodide (lugol) for ten days before surgery. Results: There were no deaths. Transient hypocalcemia (< 3 months) occurred in 32 patients (15 TT and 17 ST) and persistent hypocalcemia in 8 having had TT. Two patients developed transient recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy after ST (< 3 months). After a median follow-up period of seven years (1-15) with five patients lost to follow-up, 41 patients having had a ST are in a hypothyroid state (73%), thirteen are euthyroid (23%), and two suffered recurrent hyperthyroidism, requiring completion of thyroidectomy. All 33 patients having had TT - with follow-ups averaging two years (0.5-8) - are receiving thyroxin substitution. Conclusions: There were no instances of persistent recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy in either group, but persistent hypoparathyroidism occurred more frequently after TT. Long after ST, hypothyroidism developed in nearly three of four cases, whereas euthyroidy was maintained in only one-fourth; recurrent hyperthyroidy was rare.

<p><b>Introduction:</b> The goal of this study was to compare the short- and long-term outcomes after aortic valve (AV) surgery carried out via standard sternotomy/partial sternotomy versus transapical transcatheter AV implantation (taTAVI).</p><p><b>Patients and Methods:</b> All 336 patients who underwent taTAVI between 2006 and 2010 were compared with 4533 patients who underwent conventional AV replacement (AVR) operations between 2001 and 2010. Using propensity score matching, we identified and consecutively compared 2 very similar groups of 167 patients each. The focus was on periprocedural complications and long-term survival.</p><p><b>Results:</b> The 30-day mortality rate was 10.8% and 8.4% (<i>P</i> = .56) for the conventional AVR patients and the TAVI patients, respectively. The percentages of postoperative pacemaker implantations (15.0% versus 6.0%, <i>P</i> = .017) and cases of renal failure requiring dialysis (25.7% versus 12.6%, <i>P</i> = .004) were higher in the TAVI group. Kaplan-Meier curves diverged after half a year in favor of conventional surgery. The estimated 3-year survival rates were 53.5% 5.7% (TAVI) and 66.7% 0.2% (conventional AVR).</p><p><b>Conclusion:</b> Our study shows that even with all the latest successes in catheter-based AV implantation, the conventional surgical approach is still a very good treatment option with excellent long-term results, even for older, high-risk patients.</p>

Movement patterns were studied on a 1-ha isolated reef surrounding Arch Rock in southern Tasmania. Short-term movements were identified from diver observations, and interpretation of long-term movements involved multiple recaptures of tagged individuals. Visual observations indicated that the sex-changing labrids Notolabrus tetricus, Pictilabrus laticlavius and Pseudolabrus psittaculus were all site-attached, with females having overlapping home ranges and males being territorial. In the non-sex-changing labrid Notolabrus fucicola and in the monacanthids Penicipelta vittiger and Meuschenia australis, there was no evidence of territorial behaviour and 1-h movements were in excess of the scale of the study. The long-term results indicated that all species were permanent reef residents, with most individuals of all species except M. australis always being recaptured within a home range of 100 m × 25 m or less. Only 15% of individuals of M. australis were always recaptured within this range category. The natural habitat boundary of open sand between the Arch Rock reef and adjacent reefs appeared to be an effective deterrent to emigration. The use of natural boundaries should be an important consideration in the design of marine reserves where the aim is to minimize the loss of protected species to adjacent fished areas.
