In 2020 the first record of Wolffia arrhiza was registered in Novosibirsk Region (West Siberia) in the floodplain lake. Wolffia arrhiza formed vast stands with an area of hundreds square meters and with high productivity. Besides monodominant communities, it was met as a component of the cenoses of such hydrophytes as Stratiotes aloides , Hydrocharis morsus-ranae , as well as of the helophyte communities formed by Typha latifolia and Eleocharis mamillata . According to local residents, the large stands of Wolffia was observed for some years, thus, most likely, the population winters safely at the latitude of Novosibirsk. The most likely source of Wolffia arrhiza appearance in the lake was a deliberate introduction from the aquarium. Although the probability of this plant entering to the lake from the waste water of the city septic tank of the Novosibirsk sewage waters also exists.

Information on the aquatic and semiaquatic vegetation of the major watercourses of West Siberia is relatively scarce, while this of small rivers is practically absent. There are 430 rivers whose length exceeds 10 km within the Novosibirsk Region. The aim of our work was to study the phytocenotic diversity of their aquatic and semiaquatic vegetation. 130 geobotanical relevés were performed by the authors in July–August 2003–2005. The object was aquatic communities formed by true aquatic (submergent and floating-leaved) plants and semiaquatic ones with emergent plants and these of water′s edge. In total 10 watercourses were studied (Table 1): 2–3 in each of five geomorphologic regions within the forest-steppe zone (Table 2). The upper, middle and lower courses (Fig. 1, Table 1) with the length of 2–2.5 km were studied in each case to ensure the 4–5 repetition of main elements (stream pools and ridges) that would give a reliable information on their flora and vegetation. The sample plots were selected above the settlements, whenever possible in sites with no to intensive anthropogenic impact. The data were collected according to J. Braun-Blanquet (1964) approach. The relevés were done on the sample plot of 100 m2 placed in the most homogeneous part of the community or, in case of its smaller area, within the natural boundaries. The following scale was used for abundance estimation: r — the species is extremely rare; + — rare, small cover; 1 — the number of individuals is large, the cover is small or individuals are sparse, but the cover is large; 2 —cover of 5–25 %; 3 — 26–50 %; 4 — 51–75 %; 5 — more than 75 %. The date on water depth, transparency (on a white Secchi disk with a diameter of 30 cm), temperature and the flow rate were obtained. The soil mechanical composition and color, the degree and nature of anthropogenic impact on vegetation and river banks were quantified. Water samples for general chemical analysis were taken in the middle course of each river. Computer programs TURBOVEG and MEGATAB (Hennekens, 1996) were used for database. The syntaxonomic affiliation of phytocenoses was determined using modern literature (Bobrov, Chemeris, 2006; Vegetace..., 2011; Chepinoga, 2015; Landucci et al. 2015; Mucina et al., 2016, etc.). 36 associations and 3 communities belonging to 12 alliances, 9 orders, and 5 classes have been identified (Tables 3–14, Fig. 2–9). Such great syntaxonomic diversity is determined by the significant ecotopic variety, the variability of substrates, the wide range of water flow rates and the different water trophicity. For comparison, 26 associations, 13 variants, 2 communities were identified in the study of 50 rivers of Lithuania (Sinkyavichene, 1992); altogether 84 associations are known for the Upper Volga region as a whole (Bobrov, Chemeris, 2006), while 45 ones were recorded previously in 130 watercourses of this region (Bobrov, 1999). Information on small river macroalgae cenoses in the study area is partially reflected in the paper published earlier (Bobrov et al., 2005).

The parasitic louse fly Ornithomya comosa (Austen, 1930) (Diptera, Hippoboscidae), known from the Oriental Region (India, Thailand, Nepal and Peninsular Malaysia) and Asian part of the Palaearctic Region (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, West Siberia of Russia and Japan), is found for the first time in Europe and in the western part of Russia (Curonian Spit). Flies were collected from the swallow species Hirundo rustica (Linnaeus, 1758) and Delichon urbica (Linnaeus, 1758) (Hirundinidae). Two possible narratives for the occurrence of this fly in Europe are discussed.

Holy Week is one of the most important traditions in many parts of the world and a complex expression of cultural heritage. The main goal of this article is to explore which factors determine participation in Holy Week celebrations in the city of Palencia (Spain), measured through the number of processions attended. For this purpose, an econometric count data model is used. Variables included in the model not only reflect participants' sociodemographic features but other factors reflecting cultural capital, accumulated experience, and social aspects of the event. A distinction is drawn between three types of participants: brotherhood members, local residents, and visitors, among whom a survey was conducted to collect the information required. A total of 248 surveys were carried out among brotherhood members, 209 among local residents, and 259 among visitors. The results confirm the religious and social nature of this event, especially in the case of local participants. However, in the case of visitors, participation also depends on aspects reflecting the celebration's cultural and tourist dimension—such as visiting other religious and cultural attractions—suggesting the existence of specific tourism linked to the event. All of this suggests the need to manage the event, ensuring a balance is struck between the various stakeholders' interests and developing a tourist strategy that prioritizes public-private cooperation.

In several urban and suburban areas, the problem of the disposal and treatment of septic tank liquids has not been solved yet. This paper deals with the primary operational evaluation of a conventional system of ponds used at Tarariras, in the Department of Colonia, Uruguay, as well as the potential use of aquatic macrophytes to enhance such treatment. The conventional system was sampled over a period of approximately one month at the end of the summer in order to determine the main parameters. Groups of up to 20 samples were studied to determine the normal distributions. Correlation coefficients were obtained for the normal probability plot between 0.84 and 0.99. The most relevant statistical characteristics were calculated for each parameter. The removal efficiency was 80.0% of BOD5, 58.5% of COD, 75.8% of NH4+-N, 9.5% of PO4−3-P and 38.5% of TSS. At the same time, batch and semi-continuous trials were carried out at bench scale with Eichhornia crassipes (floating macrophyte) and Typha latifolia (emergent macrophyte). The best efficiencies were obtained for the latter, with values of 96.6% of BOD5, 93.0% of COD, 99.6% of NH4+-N, 95.2% of PO4−3-P and 95.5% of TSS. It was concluded that constructed wetlands could be the answer to a more complete treatment process.

AbstractIn the year of 1917, the manifestation of a religious phenomenon took place in Fatima, which turned out to engender profound changes in its landscape. From the belief in this event emerged in an open field the Sanctuary of Fatima, one of the largest world centers of pilgrimage. Approaching the religious phenomena from a geographical perspective, this research has the main purpose of understand and analyze the perceptions of the students of the College of the Sacred Heart of Mary of the city of Fatima in relation to the city and its religious territory. As proposed analysis referred to qualitative methods through the development of mental maps. From this analysis we found that although there is a shortage of some spaces and infrastructure targeted to the needs of local residents, they reveal a strong sense of belonging towards the area under study. Jakarta was developed started from the coastline and gradually moved to the centre of the city which left the coastal area remain untouch. The development of Jakarta which only oriented on capitalism cause in a lack of public space for the community, which make public coping with the issues independently. The roads in the housing area and villages was used by local residents as a space to socialize with neighbors or a place to do activities. There are still lots of kampung remained in Muara Baru which located in North Jakarta, but not facilitated by public space and open space to accommodate the citizen’s need to socialize and do their activity, so they carried out those activities in the middle of the road or alley which can disturb the traffic and endangered other people’s lives.  This phenomenon indicates that the community's need for public space is very high and needs to be anticipated immediately in order to avoid environmental and social degradation. The purpose of this project is to become a linkage that connect people with the surrounding environment, as well as humans with other humans, while this project also help the economy and home industry businesses, which bring in money to help the economy of local citizens, and cause positive interactions, such as knowledge exchange and development in economic aspects.

We present the first record of the Black-billed Thrush (Turdus ignobilis) in Loja city, Ecuadorian Andes. The bird was recorded in August and September 2015 in Jipiro Park, north of the city, at an elevation of 2,074 m. This increases this species’ altitudinal range in Ecuador by at least 540 m. The presence of the Black-billed Thrush in Loja shows that the valley of the Zamora River allows some species to move from the eastern lowlands to this region of the country.

Introduction. In modern conditions of globalization and decentralization, emphasizing the features of certain territories becomes especially important. Each territory, city has certain competitive advantages, the identification and emphasis of which allows you to manage the development of the area. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study is a dialectical method of cognition, a systematic approach to the study of aspects of city image management. The following methods were used during the study: abstract-logical, correlation of qualitative features with determination of Cramer’s coefficient and chi-square; score, Likert scale and semantic differential (in the survey of residents), graphical method. Purpose. The purpose of scientific work is to develop theoretical and methodological and practical aspects of the city image managing using modern marketing technologies. Results. The article has evaluated the existing Mykolaiv city image and has substantiated the expediency of its management. As a result of the survey, an image of the city has been formed, which appeared in the imagination of local residents. The key factors for which Mykolaiv should work on image, and the factors forming image of the city according to inhabitants have been revealed. The author’s own method has been used to assess the existing image. This method can be used to assess the image of other cities, as it is universal except for certain features of the city in terms of its characteristics. Conclusions. The survey revealed a strong relationship between the category of residents and indicators of their attitude to the city. Based on the obtained data, the segmentation of local residents was carried out using socio-demographic and behavioral criteria. Further key steps of management of the existing city image in order to increase the commitment of citizens to Mykolaiv taking into account target segments of the city are developed. The list of Mykolaiv image management measures has been made and grouped taking into account offers of various categories of citizens. Keywords: city image; city image management; city brand; segmentation; target city segments; “city product”; image events.
