A Field experiment was conducted using Factorial within Randomized Complete Block Design during 2014 and 2015 on the wolly peach seedlings cv Red June, which grafted on the seeded apricot, at the Dept. of Horticulture – Coll. Of Agric. – Univ. of Baghdad. The objective of this experiment was to study the effect of foliar application on organic fertilizer and growth promoter biozyme on growth of wolly peach. The tveatments were organic Fertilizer (Botryfun) (F) with 0, 3, 4 , 5 ( Ml.ltr -1) and biozyme (G) 0 , 2 , 4 ( Ml.ltr -1). The results revealed that the plants foliared by organic fertilizer F4 produced significantly highest values for all the studied traits. Plant hight iricveased 17.6, 35.5 cm, new branches lenyht 56.0, 14.4 cm. no. of vegetative branches 11.5, 29.2, diameter of main stem increased 0.85, 1.13cm, single leaf area 42.0, 39.8 cm2 , no of leaves 517.3, 771.7, leaves dry matter % , 36.8, 41.6, for two years respectively. The biozyme G2 increased plant height 15.8 and 35.6 cm, new vegetative branches 53.9, 62.8 cm, new vegetative branches 10.1, 31.6, stem diameter 0.78, 1.14 cm, single leaf area 37.3, 41.0 cm2 , no. of leaves 431.9, 825.0, leaves dry matter % 37.2, 41.3, for two years, respectively.

A Factorial experiment within Randomized Complete Block Design was coducted during 2014, 2015 on wolly peach seedlings C.V Red June, which grafted on the seeded apricot , at the Dept. of Horticulture – Coll. The objective of this experiment was to study the effect of foliar application The seedlings were sprayed with four levels of organic fertilizer Botryfun is 0, 3, 4 and 5( Ml.ltr-1) for each level by the symbol F0, F1, F2 and F3 respectively, growth prpmoter Biozyme three levels are 0, 2 and 4(Ml.ltr-1) are indicated G which is G0, G1 and G2 respectively, recorded most of the treatment were significant differences for the control, were the highest values of organic fertilizer in the treatment of F3 to all the elements reaching nitrogen 1.10 and 1.57 %, phosphorus 0.37 and 0.64%, potassium 2.16 and 2.66 %, iron 244.89 and 245.11 ppm, manganese 64.60 and 73.67 ppm, and zinc 105.33 and 128.67 ppm for two seasons respectively. And gave a growth promoter at the third focus G2 highest rates in the stock content from the elements, as it gave the nitrogen 1.10 and 1.54%, phosphorus 0.37 and 0.49%, potassium 2.01 and 2.57%, manganese 61.33 and 72.67 ppm,  and zinc 100.00 and 127.67 ppm, except iron of both seasons. When overlap outperformed many treatment morally for the control were treated overlap G2F3 with the highest value for all nutrients studied, which amounted to 1.12 and 1.70% nitrogen, 0.43 and 0.50.% Phosphorus, 2.22 and 2.78% potassium, 241.67 and 242.00 ppm iron , 68.00 and 86.67 ppm, manganese 121.67 and 132.00 ppm zinc. while the control recorded lower values and all the nutrients studied.

Application of right dosage of fertilizer and concentration of plant growth regulator are supporting factor of clove growth. This study was aimed to obtain the best combination of organic-inorganic fertilizer, the best triacontanol concentration and both interactions for increasing clove growth. This study used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two factors. The first factor was the organic-inorganic fertilizer dosage package that consisted of 6 levels, i.e no fertilizer, 100% recommended dosage of inorganic fertilizer (r.d.i.f), 25% recommended dosage of organic fertilizer (r.d.o.f) + 75% r.d.i.f, 50% r.d.o.f + 50% r.d.i.f, 75% r.d.o.f + 25% r.d.i.f, 100% r.d.o.f. The second factor was the concentration of triacontanol that consisted of 3 levels, i.e no triacontanol, 2 mg L-1 and 4 mg L-1. The results showed that the application of 25% r.d.o.f + 75% r.d.i.f produced the best clove growth, but it was not significantly different from the combination treatment of the two other types of fertilizer as indicated by the greatest improvement on stem diameter, branches number, leaf area, chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, total chlorophyll and carotenoids. Clove plants did not respond to the application of triacontanol at a concentration of 2 mg L-1, but gave a negative response to the application of triacontanol 4 mg L-1 on the plant height and leaf area variables. The interaction of the two factors did not have significant effects on all variables. Keywords: chlorophyll, morphology, nutrient dynamics, physiology, vegetative growth

Soybean is an important crop in Brazil. Nonetheless, there are no reports on the use of plant growth regulator potential in relation to this crop in the national literature. To better understand the role of these compounds, a pot experiment was carried out to study effects of GA3 and cytokinin on the vegetative growth of the soybean. GA3 (50 mg L-1) was applied as seed treatment, leaving plants with water application as control. GA3 (100 mg L-1) and cytokinin (30 mg L-1) were sprayed on leaves at the physiological stage V3/V4, and 15 days after, cytokinin (30 mg L-1), also as foliar spray. Seed treatment decreased plant emergence and initial soybean root growth, but as the season progressed, differences in root growth disappeared; plants were shorter, and presented a decrease in the number of nodes, in stem diameter, in leaf area and in dry matter yield. Conversely, foliar application of GA3 led to an increase in plant height, first node height and stem diameter. Leaf area and dry matter production also increased as a result of GA3 foliar application. There was no effect of exogenous gibberellin and cytokinin on the number of soybean leaves, number of stem branches and root dry matter. Joint application of gibberellin and cytokinin tended to inhibit gibberellin effects. Cytokinin applied to leaves during soybean vegetative growth was not effective in modifying any of the evaluated plant growth variables.

A study was carried out to determine the response of open pollinated sunflower (Helianthus annuusL. cv. Shumos) to boron fertilizer. Spring and autumn grown plots were sprayed with boron (0, 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 mg L−1) in a randomized complete block design. The results showed that boron and green Leaf area/LAI measured at the end of seed filling were linearly related in the spring crop. In the autumn crop, the relationship between boron and dry matter yield was linear, and applications above 100 mg L−1significantly increased dry matter compared to the control. For the autumn crop, 100, 200, and 250 mg L−1significantly increased seed number compared to the control, but only the 150 mg L−1treatment increased seed weight significantly. Boron tended to decrease the empty seed percentage, and for the spring crop, this was incremental and linear with applications above 150 mg L−1leading to significant reductions in empty seed percentage. Seed yield increased linearly in the autumn crop in response to boron, and 200 and 250 mg L−1applications gave significant increases in yield compared to the control.

An experiment was conducted during the Agricultural spring seasons 2019 at Abul-Khasib, Basrah. The experiment included 6 treatments combination resulted from the interaction between two plant distances (30 and 60 cm apart), with the addition of three concentrations of vitamin C (0, 20, 40) Mg. liter-1. Randomized Complete Block Design was used in a factorial experiment, mean variations replication compared at 0.05. Results can be summarized as follows: The plant spacing of 60 cm caused a significant effect on the all of the results of vegetative growth (leaves number, surface leaf area, total soluble of carbohydrates contents and chlorophyll) except plant height it gave a significant increase in 30 cm. whereas, the plant spacing of 60 cm gave a significant reduction in the (fruit weight, fruit number. plant-1 and yield. plant-1). Regarding the spraying, levels increased significantly in all component, except pod length it gave a significant decrease in vitamin C levels increased. While there was no significant effect on the interaction between the two studied factors.

A field experiment was carried out to evaluate the effect of the application of poultry manure and wood ash on the growth and grain yield of maize (Zea mays L.). The poultry manure was applied two weeks prior to planting to allow for proper decomposition. Wood ash was applied a day before planting. There were three treatments in all including the control and the treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replicates. Plant height and leaf area were taken at three weeks after planting to nine weeks after planting with an interval of two weeks. The grain yield was taken at eleven weeks after planting and was dried, weighed and recorded. The results showed that poultry manure significantly increased plant height (192.0 cm) and grain yield (4.83 t/ha) but has no significant effect on the number of leaves and leaf area with 12cm and 3403.6cm2 respectively. The values of plant height and leaf area of the control were relatively high compared with other treatments. This can be attributed to the availability of Nitrogen in the soil. The wood ash was found to give the lowest values for nitrogen as well as vegetative growth of maize, this could be attributed to the fact that nitrogen tends to volatilize when in contact with alkaline mediums and consequently affect vegetative growth of maize.

A field experiment was conducted at Bharatpur, Chitwan, Nepal at farmer's field in 2011 winter season to evaluate the nitrogen efficiency of cattle urine and FYM on soil properties, nitrogen uptake and yield of broccoli cv. Calabrese. The experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with eight treatments: N0, N100kg/ha by urine with soil application, N150kg/ha by urine by soil application, N100kg/ha by FYM, N150kg/ha by FYM, N50kg/ha by urine by foliar application, N100kg/ha by urine by foliar application and N150kg/ha by foliar application with three replications. The results of the field experiment revealed that the highest pH (6.1) was given by N150kg/ha Urine by soil application. The treatment N50kg/ha by urine by foliar application gave the highest potassium 242 kg/ha which was significantly higher than the lowest 187 kg/ha from N0. N150kg/ha by foliar application gave the highest soil organic matter 5.43%, the nitrogen 0.31% significantly higher to the lowest 0.07% from N and phosphorus 147kg/ha 0 significantly higher than the lowest. N150 kg/ha through urine by foliar application also gave the biological yield 36.7 t/ha which was significantly higher than the lowest 25.5t/ha from N0 and significantly higher curd yield 19.05 t/ha to the lowest 11.2 t/ha.

Abstract Peanut growth and pod yield are influenced by sowing spacing and plant density. Production and distribution of dry matter on peanut cultivars sown in different spacings and densities and their relationships with pod and kernel yields were assessed. The factors evaluated were two cultivars (Florman INTA, virginia-type “runner” and Colorado Irradiado, valencia-type erect), three interrow spacings (IRS) (0.70, 0.50, and 0.30 m) and two interplant spacings (IS) (0.06 and 0.12 m). The 12 treatments were disposed in a factorial arrangement of 2×3×2 and a randomized block design with three replications. Weeds were controlled with Imazetapir (100 g ai/ha) and also hand weeded while leaf spot control was done with Fluzilasole (60 g ai/ha). Sowing spacings did not affect phenologic stage duration, but the differences observed were due to the cultivar. Vegetative growth was sensitive to spacings effect. At an individual plant level, dry matter and leaf area decreased significantly because of the greater intraspecific competition produced by the shortening of distances between rows (from 0.70 to 0.30 m) and between plants (from 0.12 to 0.06 m) and the corresponding density increase from 12 to 56 plants/m2. However, at a population level, most compact spacings produced more dry matter per surface and leaf area index. This also is related to the lesser time required for plants at these spacings to achieve a radiation interception higher than 90%. Dry matter distribution did not vary with sowing spacings. The number of branches per plant was reduced with the increase of density. The effect was greater in the late maturing cultivar. The most compact sowing spacings (0.30×0.06, 0.50×0.06 and 0.30×0.12 m) produced higher pod and kernel yield/ha than those less dense. This response is based upon the significant correlations between the dry matter and number of branches per surface area, and leaf area index and pod yield.

Eucalyptus plants are sensitive to stress factors in the initial growth phase. The plant growth regulator trinexapac-ethyl can provide gains to eucalyptus plants, a phenomenon known as hormesis. Thus, the aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of trinexapac-ethyl on the initial growth of two Eucalyptus urograndis clones (Clone 1 = I-144 and Clone 2 = 1407). The experiment was performed during 90 days after planting (DAP) of eucalyptus, in 100 L pots, with a randomized complete block design. The treatments were arranged in a 2 × 3 factorial scheme, with two eucalyptus clones and three trinexapac-ethyl doses (0, 30 and 60 g i.a. ha-1), with four replications. Fortnightly, plants height and stem diameter were evaluated. At 90 DAP, the leaf area and plants dry matter (DM) were evaluated. Clone 1 obtained leaf area and total DM 53% and 58% larger than Clone 2, respectively. The higher dose of trinexapac-ethyl provided mean gains of 30% in stem DM and total DM in Clone 1. For Clone 2, both doses of the product caused mean gains of 70% in stem DM, leaf DM and total DM. In conclusion, trinexapac-ethyl has a positive effect on the initial growth of E. urograndis, Clones I-144 and 1407. Clone I-144 showed higher growth than Clone 1407, regardless trinexapac-ethyl application. However, the Clone 1407 obtained more expressive gains with the application of trinexapac-ethyl, compared to Clone I-144.

[VEGETATIVE GROWTH OF GRAFTING SEEDLINGS  OF GERGA ORANGE IN DIFFERENT CONCENTRATIONS OF LIQUID ORGANIC FERTILIZER]. This study aims to examine explain the effect of gamal leaf liquid organic fertilizer dosage, the way of application of gamal leaf liquid organic fertilizer, and the interaction between treatments on the growth of citrus plants. This research was conducted from August to December 2017 at the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu. This research was carried out using a Randomized Complete Block Design using 2 factors. The first factor is the way the application of gamal leaf liquid organic fertilizer is sprayed on the leaves and watered onto the ground. The second factor is the concentration of gamal leaf liquid organic fertilizer which consists of control, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The results showed that application of liquid organic fertilizer only gave effect to the number of branches. The 50% gamal leaf liquid organic fertilizer concentration was able to increase the number of branches of gerga orange seedlings by an average of 1.04 branches.
