Autonomous driving helps drivers avoid paying attention to keeping to a lane or keeping a distance from the vehicle ahead. However, the autonomous driving is limited by the need to park upon the completion of driving. In this sense, automated valet parking (AVP) system is one of the promising technologies for enabling drivers to free themselves from the burden of parking. Nevertheless, the driver must continuously monitor the automated system in the current automation level. The main reason for monitoring the automation system is due to the limited sensor range and occlusions. For safety reasons, the current field of view must be taken into account, as well as to ensure comfort and to avoid unexpected and harsh reactions. Unfortunately, due to parked vehicles and structures, the field of view in a parking lot is not sufficient for considering new obstacles coming out of occluded areas. To solve this problem, we propose a method that estimates the risks for unobservable obstacles by considering worst-case assumptions. With this method, we can ensure to not act overcautiously while moving safe. As a result, the proposed method can be a proactive approach to consider the limited visibility encountered in a parking lot. In the proposed method, occlusion can be efficiently reflected in the planning process. The potential of the proposed method is evaluated in a variety of simulations.

The introduction of an automated control system on the production line of the rubber compound will reduce the influence of the human factor on the quality of rubber products, which will lead to a significant improvement in the operational and physico-mechanical characteristics of the final product. Also, the development of this system will create a centralized data collection system for creating reports on technological operations of the production process. To obtain high-quality products, it is necessary to control and maintain all technological parameters during equipment operation at the same level, modern means of registration and parameter management. In the production of rubber compounds, it is necessary to ensure a high degree of automation of the main technological equipment, which will make it possible to more accurately dose the ingredients, including dusting ones, to conduct the process in a given temperature regime for the time required to obtain high-quality products. The implementation of automatic control during the use of high-performance equipment is not possible without the use of measuring and control equipment. The article is devoted to the problem of automation of a system for measuring technological parameters on a rubber compound production line in order to improve the quality of manufactured products. The analysis of the technological process is carried out, the controlled parameters of not only the modes of the technological process, but also of raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products are selected. The choice of instruments and local automation equipment is presented, as well as the choice of an industrial microcontroller with which control is carried out at the lower level of an integrated automation system. A functional diagram of the automation of the rubber compound production process is proposed, which will allow to obtain a product with quality indicators corresponding to the regulated level.

In this article, the research of information system protection by ana ly zing the risks for identifying threats for information security is considered. Information risk analysis is periodically conducted to identify information security threats and test the information security system. Currently, various information risk analysis techni ques exist and are being used, the main difference being the quantitative or qualitative risk assessment scales. On the basis of the existing methods of testing and evaluation of the vulnerabilities for the automated system, their advantages and disadvantages, for the possibility of further comparison of the spent resources and the security of the information system, the conclusion was made regarding the deter mi nation of the optimal method of testing the information security system in the context of the simulated polygon for the protection of critical information resources. A simula tion ground for the protection of critical information resources based on GNS3 application software has been developed and implemented. Among the considered methods of testing and risk analysis of the automated system, the optimal iRisk methodology was identified for testing the information security system on the basis of the simulated. The quantitative method Risk for security estimation is considered. Generalized iRisk risk assessment is calculated taking into account the following parameters: Vulnerabili ty  — vulnerability assessment, Threat — threat assessment, Control — assessment of security measures. The methodology includes a common CVSS vul nerability assessment system, which allows you to use constantly relevant coefficients for the calculation of vulnerabilities, as well as have a list of all major vulnerabilities that are associated with all modern software products that can be used in the automated system. The known software and hardware vulnerabilities of the ground are considered and the resistance of the built network to specific threats by the iRisk method is calculated.

Abstract Over the years, many studies have been conducted to measure and classify the lightning-generated electric field waveform for a better understanding of the lightning physics phenomenon. Through measurement and classification, the features of the negative lightning return strokes can be accessed and analysed. In most studies, the classification of negative lightning return strokes was performed using a conventional approach based on manual visual inspection. Nevertheless, this traditional method could compromise the accuracy of data analysis due to human error, which also required a longer processing time. Hence, this study developed an automated negative lightning return strokes classification system using MATLAB software. In this study, a total of 115 return strokes was recorded and classified automatically by using the developed system. The data comparison with the Tenaga Nasional Berhad Research (TNBR) lightning report showed a good agreement between the lightning signal detected from this study with those signals recorded from the report. Apart from that, the developed automated system was successfully classified the negative lightning return strokes which this parameter was also illustrated on Graphic User Interface (GUI). Thus, the proposed automatic system could offer a practical and reliable approach by reducing human error and the processing time while classifying the negative lightning return strokes.

This article explains how Tesla batteries are making electric vehicles (EVs) affordable for customers. Tesla’s battery revolution began when CEO Elon Musk declared that it would sell a mass-market EV for just $35,000. To produce battery packs cheaply enough to reach that price point, Tesla reengineered not only the production process, but also the factory in which the batteries are made. The Reno, Nev., Gigafactory is not yet operating at full capacity, but it is expected to produce 35 GW per year of lithium-ion batteries, about double the present-day global production. Tesla partnered with Panasonic to revamp the production process, and ended up redesigning the chemistry of the battery itself. The standard “18-650” cell format used thousands of less-expensive commodity cells, similar to lithium-ion batteries used in laptop computers. Tesla replaced individual safety systems built into each cell with an inexpensive fireproof system for the entire battery pack. Now, they have begun producing the new “2170” cell, which delivers higher density through an automated system developed with Panasonic to further reduce costs.
