Diabetic ulcers are one of the most common complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Diabetic ulcers are infected sores that develop in the lower extremities. Proper diabetic foot wound care methods will improve wound healing. One of the efforts to treat the complement to prevent infection is wound care with palm sugar. Palm sugar contains antibiotic-like substances such as vitamin C, riboflavin, vitamin A, and ascorbic acid. Dr. Slamet Garut's study aims to determine the effectiveness of wound care with palm sugar media against the repair of diabetic ulcers in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus after hospitalization in 2021. The study used a quasi experimental research design with one group pretest and posttest design (Pre-action) and one group of subjects receiving palm sugar therapy on diabetic ulcer wounds (Post-action). The researcher used consecutive sampling techniques, samples that met the inclusion criteria could have 8 people. The wounds were treated with palm sugar for two weeks. The findings revealed that wound care with palm sugar had an effect on the repair of diabetic ulcers in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, with a Pvalue = 0.000. Then it is possible to conclude that treating wounds with palm sugar affects the improvement of diabetic ulcers.

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that cannot be cured but can be controlled which can cause various complications. To reduce the risk of complications due to diabetes mellitus, diabetes exercise exercises can be done. This study aims to find out the Effect of Diabetic Foot Gymnastics on Reducing the Risk of Diabetic Ulcer in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients in West Taupah Health Center, West Taupah District, Simeule Regency 2020. This study uses a Pre-Experimental. The population in this study were all people with diabetes mellitus who visited the West Taupah Health Center as many as 32 people. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique of 20 people.  The results showed that the risk of diabetic ulcers before the implementation of diabetes foot exercises at the West Taupah Health Center was mostly high risk. The risk of diabetic ulcers after the implementation of diabetes foot exercises at the West Taupah Health Center was mostly low risk. There is an Influence before and after the implementation of Diabetic Foot Gymnastics on the Reduction of the Risk of Diabetic Ulcer in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients in West Taupah Health Center, West Taupah Subdistrict, Simeule Regency in 2020 with p = 0.0001 <α = 0.05. Suggestions in this study, especially for health workers should continue to try to do diabetic foot exercises on a scheduled basis in order to minimize the risk of diabetic ulcers.

ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate the effect of educational intervention in the adherence to self-care activities and functional health literacy and numeracy in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study conducted in two units of the Brazilian Family Health Strategy, involving people with diabetes. Educational interventions occurred in three meetings, weekly, lasting 60 minutes on average. Data were collected using the Questionário de Autocuidado com o Diabetes, before and after the interventions. Results: 55 people participated in the study. After the interventions, the greatest difference for a better adherence to self-care was the item “inspecting the inside of the shoes before putting them on”, with 3.29 days in the week delta at analytical level. The worst was “taking insulin shots as recommended”, with 0.00 days a week delta at basic level. Conclusion: Educational interventions had a positive effect on adherence to self-care and functional literacy in health.

Background: Someone in middle adulthood has begun to experience changes leading to an aging process, so they are vulnerable to degenerative diseases. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease which is still being a health problem in Indonesia. Problems and complications in people with DM can be minimized if the patient has sufficient knowledge and ability to carry out self-care. One effort that can be done is to provide health education about self-care to optimize metabolic control, prevent acute and chronic complications, optimize quality of life and able to carry out self-care behavior independently. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of health education on self care activities in type 2 diabetes mellitus in Puskesmas Pandak I. Method: This was a quasi-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest study design. The samples used were 26 respondents. Data analysis technique used paired t-tes with a significance level of p < 0.05. Result: There is a significant enhancement in self-care activities. Statistical analysis using paired t-test found there were significant differences in the value of self-care activities between pre and post-education among type 2 diabetes mellitus diabetes (p <0.005). Conclusion: Health education can improve self care activities for people with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Puskesmas Pandak I. Keyword : Health education, self-care

IntroductionType 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a highly prevalent chronic disease in the Spanish population. Typically, T2DM is associated with other chronic conditions. Intensive medication at the time of diagnosis has proven effective in reducing cardiovascular risk, improving glycaemic control and preventing T2DM complications. However, it has not yet been demonstrated that a comprehensive and intensive health education protocol at the time of diagnosis has the benefits described previously. Currently, there is great variability in the practices of primary care nurses regarding health education at the time of disease diagnosis. We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a systematic protocol with a comprehensive care programme in people with newly diagnosed T2DM with associated comorbidities. Methods and analysisA multicentre quasi-experimental design comparing a group of individuals taking part in the intervention (intervention group (IG)) with a similar group receiving standard diabetes care (comparison group (CG)) is planned. The intervention will take place during the 3 months after study enrolment. Data will be collected at baseline and at 3, 6 and 12 months. Ten primary care centres in Barcelona city will be selected for participation: 5 for the IG and 5 for the CG. The IG will include five structured individual visits postdiagnosis with the primary care nurse, during which aspects of diabetes education will be discussed with the patient and his/her family. The results will be measured in terms of health-related quality of life and the change in main outcomes (glycated haemoglobin and weight).Ethics and disseminationThe study fully met the requirements of the Ethical Committee of Clinical Investigation of the IDIAP Jordi Gol (approval code: P13/118). Patients will be informed that their data are confidential, and they have the right to withdraw at any time without penalty. Dissemination will include publishing the findings in peer-reviewed journals and sharing our findings at scientific conferences.Trial registration numberNCT03990857; Pre-results.

Background: The most common complication in patients with diabetes mellitus tippe 2 (DM) is diabetic ulcers, where the tissue deformity occurs either partially (Partial Thickness) or completely (Full Thickness). If not handled properly and appropriately, ulcers can become infected. Where leg ulcers, infection, neuroarthropathy and peripheral artery disease are the causes of gangrene and lower limb amputations. The aim of this study  is to determine the effectiveness of wound healing in the treatment of diabetes mellitus wounds using modern dressing techniques. Methods: the literature review (LR) method uses meta-analysis where the data used is a database of searches using MEDLINE (PubMed), Google Scholar, Science Direct, Surgery Science and Sci-Hub. Reports published from 2010-2020 that focused on modern wound care dressings for wound healing of type 2 diabetes mellitus were identified. Results: Based on the analysis of the journal, there are nursing implications that have been compared from 10 journals, it was found that the treatment of type two diabetes mellitus wounds using modern dressing techniques is more effective in wound healing, by accelerating granulation and healing of the various types of dressings used, each of which has advantages. in terms of wound healing type 2 diabetes mellitus. Conclusion: The use of modern dressing techniques is effective in wound healing in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus wounds. Researchers suggest that they be able to conduct research related to modern wound care dressings such as the use of alginate dressings, foam dressings, hydrogel dressings, moisture dressings, silver dressings, hydrophilic polyurethane foam dressings, acellular matrix dressings, and others related to wound care using modern dressing techniques. . Further research needs to be done by paying attention to the latest evidence-based practice journals to enrich knowledge about wound care with modern dressing techniques for diabetes mellitus wounds.
