The present research aims at identifying the effect of Robinson strategy and Self- Inquiry on the student's achievement in Kurdish literature. To achieve the study aim, the researcher has chosen randomly eighth class students (2nd intermediate) from Hemin school, pishder directorate/ Suliymania for the academic year 2014- 2015. The sample of the study is 76 male and female students and it is distributed as 27 studenets as the first experimental group, 24 student as the second expermintal group, and 25 students as the control group. The Three groups have been matched according to the following variables: the student's age, their intelligence, their last year grades in kurdish. The experiment lasted one academic semester which is the first one during which the researcher herself has taught the three groups. The researcher has constructed an objective test consist of 35 items, some are multiple choice items, other are true/ false items and completion items. The test validity and reliability have been ascertained. The following statistical tools have been used: ANOVA, Difficulty Coefficient Formula, Recognition Coefficient, Scheffe's test, pearson coefficient Formula. The results of this study have been proven the effectiveness of Robinson strategy which was taught to the first experimental group. Also self Inquiry has proven its success upon the traditional way of teaching. Also, no statistically significant difference is found at 0.05 between the first experimental group, which is taught by Robinson strategy, and the second experimental group which is taught by self- Inquiry.

The key goal of the paper is to study the influence of blended learning on the academic perfor-mance of students of a statistics Bluman course at the University of Ajman. The study was implemented by means of a quasi-experimental design. The sample of the study was 268 students, grouped into two groups: one experimental group (n = 135) that used blended learning; and the other a control group (n = 133) which was educated using the traditional method. The researchers prepared the achievement test as a tool of study after verifying its validity and reliability. The findings indicated significant statistical differences among the mean scores on the students’ post-test achievement in the two study groups, in favor of experimental group students, who were educated through blended learning. Furthermore, the outcomes showed that the scores of the experimental group students were diverse based on the variable of gender (in favor of females), and based on the variable of students’ academic year (supporting those students in the fourth academic year). However, no statistically significant difference was found among the students according to the variable of the college in which they studied. The study recommends that mixed learning is to be employed more broadly to include various educational fields.

The purpose of this study was to determine differences in students' mathematical communication skills based on gender with learning using metacognitive strategies. This research method is a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling which consisted of 19 male students as the first experimental group and 17 female students as the second experimental group. The instrument used was in the form of a five-point essay test to measure the aspects of students' mathematical communication skills after being given a treatment, namely learning using metacognitive strategies. The pre-test mean score shows that female students are higher than male students, on the contrary, the average score of the post-test results, it is known that male students are higher. The data were analyzed using the t-test, it was concluded that there was a significant difference between the mathematical abilities of male and female students. This difference is consistent with several previous research results, although not a few studies also state that there is no significant difference between students' academic abilities based on gender.

Writing is considered a very important learning tool for all content areas. There is no doubt that writing skill is essential for any kind of learning either at the school or the university level. Therefore, the present study attempted to explore the possibility of improving university students’ one of writing sub-skills, known as coherence through emoji. Coherence in the students’ writing was measured according to the students ability to a) use repetition to link ideas, sentences, and paragraphs, b)use transitional expressions to link ideas, sentences, and paragraphs, c) use pronouns to link sentences, d)use synonyms to link ideas and create variety, e) use parallel structures to link ideas, sentences, and paragraphs. The sample of this study was randomly selected from the Third Level female students joining the Department of English at one Saudi public university. The selected subjects were assigned randomly into control group and experimental group. After administrating the pretest for the two groups, the experimental group was given a six-week treatment of emoji meant for improving the writing sub-skill, while the control group was taught writing without using emoji. One week after the treatment, a posttest was administered to the two groups. Results revealed significant difference between the students’ scores in writing in favor of using emoji to improve students’ writing skills. Thus, the findings show the effectiveness of using emoji in improving students’ coherence in writing. The results were used to draw some conclusions and to suggest some recommendations for teaching writing using emoji. The results also recommend further researches to be done on using emoji to improve other language skills and sub-skills.

Abstract Introduction: Girls can use their mothers emotional, informational and behavioral support to perform healthy behaviors due to their constant access to their mothers. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of role modeling and maternal support in the family to improve healthy behaviors and perceived Family Health Climate (FHC) in female students. Methods: In this quasi-experimental study 261 female students (133 in intervention group and 128 in control group) and 223 mothers (109 intervention and 114 control) were selected, using cluster multi-stages sampling method and entered the study. Participants completed the FHC scale at three stages (Before intervention, immediately after the intervention and two month after intervention). A training programme which comprised 12 sessions for students and 6 sessions for their mothers using collaborative learning techniques and printed materials was conducted with the experimental group. Data were analyzed using SPSS20 via chi-square test, independent t-test, and Repeated Measures ANOVA at significance level of 0.05.Results: Before the intervention, there was no significant difference between demographic variables and the score of FHC scale in both groups (p<0.05). Immediately and two months after the intervention, the experimental group (female students and their mothers) showed a significant increase in dimensions of FHC including FHC-NU and FHC-PA (their subscales) compared to the control group (p<0.05).Conclusions: Educating and informing mothers about their role model defects for their children, especially girls, can make them more aware of health-oriented behaviors towards their children. Such findings reinforced the importance of focusing on actions to encourage a healthy lifestyle (healthy diet and physical activity) in students with a focus on role modeling and parental support, especially mothers.
