This article outlines the implementation of a service-learning approach in an entrepreneurship programme using an ‘economic gardening’ strategy. Economic Gardening through Service-Learning (EGS-L) is an approach to economic development that helps local businesses and students grow through a facilitated learning process. Learning is made possible by appealing to the action orientation of entrepreneurs and supplying students with a real laboratory in which to implement, test and experience theory. Economic gardening effectively strengthens businesses in the community and promotes community awareness by bringing businesses, students, academics and community leaders together in a receptive and proactive environment. The authors draw on first-hand experience from programmes at various institutions and include in their discussion some preliminary results with regard to civic attitudes.

Abstract — Almost all countries in the world and our country Indonesia are no exception, having an impact on the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) Pandemic, which requires the government to issue policies in various sectors to immediately take a stand in preventing wider transmission, including the education sector. The new period to normal due to the Covid19 pandemic is indeed an extraordinary struggle in the field of education. In the midst of various prevention and cure efforts due to a virus where the anti-vaccine has yet to be found, all sectors are compiling new life protocols, which means we carry out various facts in all aspects of life. Here my role as a parent, teacher, government, and community member must have many strategies in adjusting the learning conditions in schools during this pandemic. Currently, the Distance Learning process still utilizes the Whatsapp group facility in smart phone devices. The teacher provides lesson materials and assignments to students through the Whatsapp group, both through the parents' group and their respective class groups. One of the efforts to overcome these problems in the learning process in this new normal period, will be more effective with a blended learning approach and approach. The blended learning approach, which combines online and offline approaches. The blended learning approach, of course with all its advantages and disadvantages, tends to be used as a strategic alternative. The purpose of this study is to determine teacher teaching activities, student learning activities, and student responses in the application of Blended Learning. Masa new normal akibat pandemic covid19 memang luar biasa perjuangannya dalam bidang pendidikan. In the sports coaching field, learner-centered teaching (LCT) has been advocated as a viable approach to increasing learners’ involvement in the learning process. However, implementing LCT is not a simple undertaking as coach developers, and coaches have encountered dilemmas when it comes to shifting to LCT in coach education. This study aimed to investigate how LCT principles were implemented in a rugby coach education program through the perspectives of the researcher, the coach developer, and coaches. Participants included the researcher (i.e., first author), a coach developer, and 10 rugby coaches. The researcher observed three coach education courses, gathered descriptive and reflective field notes, and conducted individual semistructured interviews with both the coach developer and the 10 coaches. Findings shed light on the strategies adopted by the coach developer and the extent to which these strategies aligned with LCT principles. Coaches discussed how they enjoyed their active role in the courses and the approaches used by the coach developer to leverage learning. The discussion highlights the importance of coach developers in facilitating a learning process that is challenging, motivating, and supports coaches throughout the courses.

In learning science, the problem that arises is how to make learning and presenting science concepts fun for students. For success in learning, learning must be fun, namely the material presented to students already exists in their daily lives. Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is a learning approach that links the material being taught with students' real world situations and encourages students make connections between the knowledge learned and its implementation in their daily lives. The application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model in science learning is to apply a learning that includes all the components contained in Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). In the implementation of learning, the teacher maximizes the learning process so that learning objectives can be achieved in accordance with the Competency Standards and student conditions. Through learning using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach, it is hoped that students can find solutions to problems from the knowledge they have, and it makes students play an active role when the teaching and learning process takes place.

“OrchardSim: Design of an Apple Orchard” is a computer simulation program that was developed as a tool for students and new apple growers to understand the process involved in designing an efficient apple orchard. This program was developed on Toolbook software. It explores key elements involved in designing an apple orchard. Users are introduced to these elements and then asked to make selections for each of the following parameters: soil type, cultivar, rootstock, and management system. The goal of the program is to find compatible selections that will result in an appropriate design of a 1-acre orchard. This full-color program uses text, graphics animation, and still pictures to provide the following: introductory and review information about each parameter, opportunities for the user to make a selection for each parameter, and a check for choices made to determine compatibility. Users receive feedback for each specific choice made for each of the parameters throughout the program. This simulation presents an alternative instructional tool, whereby the user plays an active role in the learning process by practicing and reviewing information at one's own pace. OrchardSim provides users with immediate feedback and an excellent opportunity for making high-risk decisions, with no financial loss that otherwise would have been costly if the learning process were pursued in the real orchard.

In classical learning approach, conventional lecture method is commonly used by teachers in implementing learning process in classes. The teacher becomes the main source of learning. The current student’s habit that tends to be passive and individualistic resulted in a passive and monotone learning. To overcome these problems, I was interested to implement the model of numbered heads together in learning Physics in the Class VII B of SMP Negeri 5 Kota Jambi. The purpose of this learning approach is to enable students to develop cooperative skill and more active learning of physics and to improve learning results. This research is a class action research, which were performed in two cycles. All students’ activities in the class were observed and recorded in observation sheet, consisting of teacher observation sheet and student observation sheet. To find out the learning outcomes, formative test was performed using a written instrument form. The results show the increase of students’ discipline, cooperation, liveliness, timeliness in learning Physics. In addition, the learning model also increases the students’ learning outcomes. The average learning results increased to 75.38 (increase 3.25 points). To conclude, the implementation of Number Head Together increase students’ discipline, cooperation, activities, and timeliness. The model also increase the Physics learning outcome of student in SMP Negeri 5 Kota Jambi.

Introduction: In Saudi Arabia; it is estimated that the elderly (aged 60 and above) would reach up to (22.9%) by 2050, compared to (5.6%) in 2017. Simulation games have proven to be a useful and effective method of education in pharmacy schools, as it actively involves participants in the learning process. The objective of this study was to examine the impact of the modified geriatric medication game on community pharmacists’ awareness and attitudes toward older adults with common disabilities. Methods: A modified geriatric medication game was adopted to stimulate both physical and sensory disabilities in older adults. A total of 9 community pharmacists were gathered in 1 room and were asked to play 2 scenarios each. Self-reflection was assessed and ground theories were analyzed. Results: All pharmacists felt frustration and anger playing the game (100%), followed by becoming more aware of the extra time and guidance needed with older adults and realized how disabling chronic diseases could be, and felt they needed to improve common perceived attitude towards the elderly (88.89%). Pharmacists also felt empathy, sympathy, and compassion towards this population, needed improvement of common perceived attitude towards older adults, and felt the need to double check with older adults if they have any disabilities before counseling (77.78%). Finally, over half pharmacists (55.5%) wished they had more training on geriatrics during pharmacy school and the need for further review of Beer’s criteria. All pharmacists were satisfied with the game and recommended it to all community pharmacists. Conclusion: Simulation games are a great way to strengthen awareness and change practice accordingly. Pharmacists improved their awareness and attitude towards the elderly and reported a positive perceived value of this learning activity; with a 100% satisfaction rate. Adding a geriatric course with simulation component is recommended for better geriatric care.

The development of experiential learning methodologies is gaining attention, due to its contributions to enhancing education quality. It focuses on developing competencies, and build-up added values, such as creative and critical thinking skills, with the aim of improving the quality of learning. The interdisciplinary mechatronics field accommodates a coherent interactive concurrent design process that facilitates innovation and develops the desired skills by adopting experiential learning approaches. This educational learning process is motivated by implementation, assessment, and reflections. This requires synergizing cognition, perception, and behavior with experience sharing and evaluation. Furthermore, it is supported by knowledge accumulation. The learning process with active student’s engagement (participation and investigation) is integrated with experimental systems that are developed to facilitate experiential learning supported by properly designed lectures, laboratory experiments, and integrated with course projects. This paper aims to enhance education, learning quality, and contribute to the learning process, while stimulating creative and critical thinking skills. The paper has adopted a student-centered learning approach and focuses on developing training tools to improve the hands-on experience and integrate it with project-based learning. The developed experimental systems have their learning indicators where students acquire knowledge and learn the target skills through involvement in the process. This is inspired by collaborative knowledge sharing, brainstorming, and interactive discussions. The learning outcomes from lectures and laboratory experiments are synergized with the project-based learning approach to yield the desired promising results and exhibit the value of learning. The effectiveness of the developed experimental systems along with the adopted project-based learning approach is demonstrated and evaluated during laboratory sessions supporting different courses at Sanyo-Onoda City University, Yamaguchi, Japan, and at the American University in Cairo.
