This paper aims to highlight the importance of investing in renewable energies in order to advance sustainable development in Algeria, as investment in this field has known continuous development in recent years, convinced that renewable energies are the most important and strategic option for achieving sustainable development in the future, and has been reached To a set of results, the most important of which are that renewable energy has the ability to meet the need for development in Algeria, as well as its ability to increase development and growth on a large scale, and renewable energy plays an important role in translating the dimensions of sustainable development, as its development projects contribute to achieving Economic gains, improve social conditions and preserve the environmental heritage for future generations, in order to achieve sustainable development.

One of the main purposes for the issuance of sukuk is to fund large-scale development projects. With the rising interest for responsible finance and investment, Muslim scholars propose that besides utilizing sukuk an instrument to finance purely developmental projects, sukuk could be used as a vehicle to raise funds for financing various projects that meet the criteria of social and responsible finance. Innovation in the sukuk issuance, for example green sukuk, has played a prominent role in financing infrastructure and renewable energy projects. With the introduction of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the United Nations in 2015 that strategize to be a blueprint to achieve a sustainable future for all, green sukuk is seen as one of the most potential instruments that can be used in achieving such SDGs. Green sukuk stands with an advantage of a Shariah-compliance financing instrument which, besides meeting the demands from the investors and stakeholders, is also able to provide for a better alternative in a term of social finance discourse. Looking closely into the initiative in combating climate change in Malaysia, this research qualitatively investigates the potential and roles of green sukuk in leading the trend in eco-friendly investments and development projects. The research found that there is a positive trend among investors towards issuing green sukuk that are based on eco-friendly investments and development projects.

Renewable energy generation capacity in Korea is expected to reach about 63.8 GW by 2030 based on calculations using values from a power plan survey (Korea’s renewable energy power generation project plan implemented in September 2017) and the “3020” implementation plan prescribed in the 8th Basic Plan for Long-Term Electricity Supply and Demand that was announced in 2017. In order for the electrical grid to accommodate this capacity, an appropriate power system reinforcement plan is critical. In this paper, a variety of scenarios are constructed involving renewable energy capacity, interconnection measures and reinforcement measures. Based on these scenarios, the impacts of large-scale renewable energy connections on the future power systems are analyzed and a reinforcement plan is proposed based on the system assessment results. First, the scenarios are categorized according to their renewable energy interconnection capacity and electricity supply and demand, from which a database is established. A dynamic model based on inverter-based resources is applied to the scenarios here. The transmission lines, high-voltage direct current and flexible alternating current transmission systems are reinforced to increase the stability and capabilities of the power systems considered here. Reinforcement measures are derived for each stage of renewable penetration based on static and dynamic analysis processes. As a result, when large-scale renewable energy has penetrated some areas in the future in Korean power systems, the most stable systems could be optimally configured by applying interconnection measure two and reinforcement measure two as described here. To verify the performance of the proposed methodology, in this paper, comprehensive tests are performed based on predicted large-scale power systems in 2026 and 2031. Database creation and simulation are performed semi-automatically here using Power System Simulator for Engineering (PSS/E) and Python.

Denmark is a pioneer in the large-scale extraction of the sustainable energy of the wind, especially in theelectricity sector which supplies most of the Danish electricity consumption. A combination of these recentDanish successes, and the increased societal demand for the reduction of carbon dioxide emission in light ofthe recent IPCC report, has created the expectation of a fast transition from fossil fuel to sustainable energyresources in all energy sectors. Although this transition is inevitable due to the unsustainable nature of fossilfuels and the declining Danish oil and gas production, there is still an ongoing discussion, sometimessupported by qualitative evidence, on its possibility, extent, and urgency.This paper that is inspired by a true story of an unsuccessful date between a petroleum engineeringcolleague and a Danish environmentalist has a quantitative look at the future energy balance of Denmark byestimating the future energy consumption of a typical Dane and comparing it with the available renewableand non-renewable energy resources. It also suggests and compares different scenarios for a self-sufficientDenmark with 100% renewable energy, considering the available land and shallow sea and the footprint ofthe energy extraction and storage methods in Denmark. The results show that if the intermittency problem ofthe wind energy is addressed in the future, there is still a large demand, mostly from the transport sector, forliquid fuels with high energy-density, which needs to be addressed by a paradigm shift in transporttechnologies or large scale implementation of power to fuel technologies with a sustainable carbon source.

Sustainable development is an essential precondition, and also the ultimate goal, of the organization of numerous human activities, with particular emphasis on education. One of the key dimensions of sustainable development is the social dimension, which refers to citizens' comprehension of its importance. The aim of the study presented in this paper was to establish the attitudes of future pedagogists towards sustainable development. The sample consisted of 240 respondents. The study used the descriptive method, and the data collection technique used was the questionnaire survey-the Questionnaire for the Assessment of Attitudes to Sustainable Development. The results of the survey confirm the general research hypothesis that students regard sustainable development as extremely important. Students of teacher training faculties are aware of the concept and importance of sustainable development for the present and the future, but are insufficiently prepared to educate future generations about it. The pedagogical implications of this study would be that university teachers should implement more content dealing with sustainable development as part of the curriculum, particularly at faculties educating future pedagogists. This is particularly important for these students so that they can act with the future in mind-the future of young generations.

AbstractVietnam has experienced an economic growth accompanied by increasing energy demand and inadequate supplies. Like most developing countries, the increased inefficient use of energy in Vietnam leads to increased greenhouse gas emissions and high energy costs for consumers. Also, the traditional sources of energy are not sufficient to satisfy the demand of the economic sectors.With the negative impact of climate change on water resources and the depletion of coal, oil and gas reserves, Vietnam must diversify and integrate other forms of renewable energies into its energy mix. The efficient use of renewable energy resources can boost economic development. Thus, the policies for endorsing renewable energies and energy efficiency are playing a vital role in ensuring the sustainable development for Vietnam’s future. This paper examines the legal and policy framework influencing the deployment of renewable energies and energy efficiency in Vietnam. The paper also attempts to identify major barriers to a large scale deployment of renewable energies and energy efficiency technologies and offers some possible solutions.

This lead to the creation of “sustainable development”, which relies on renewable energies in order to preserve the environment. The development issues of renewable energy in Algeria drove the Algerian State to integrate it in the national energy mix. It is a major challenge regarding the preservation of fossil fuels, diversification of electricity production chains and contribution to sustainable development. Algeria launched a renewable energy development program going from 2011 to 2030 in order to revive economic growth in this country. The program recently concluded its first phase dedicated to pilot projects and testing various technologies available. The Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency Development Program (REEEDP), in the revised version by the services of the Department of Energy, has just been adopted with the conclusions highlighted by its first phase.the preservation of fossil fuels, diversification of electricity production chains and contribution to sustainable development. Issues associated with the fair distribution of resources for both current and future generations are gaining on more importance as a result of broad discussion worldwide relating to the ecological problems. One of the significant elements of these activities is embodied by family firms; hence, the aim of this chapter is an attempt to indicate what an important role in terms of building the future of family firms is played by the adoption of the principles of sustainable management with the participation of the employees and the owners on the basis of the appropriately designed functions of HRM. The chapter includes introductory elements to the significance and foundations of the concept of sustainable development in order for the subsequent sections to contain information on the subject of utilizing the concept of sustainable management in organizations and the departments of HR. The final section of the chapter constitutes indications referring to the creation of sustainable personnel in family firms as a challenge that is facing the departments of HR.

We need waste disposal methods that allow the human race to live on this planet in harmony with nature, preserving our resources and habitat and leaving a legacy for our children and grandchildren that does not deprive them of opportunities. These changes will not come easily; they will require resolve and foresight. Just as a mathematician develops the proof to a mathematical theorem, we must start from a basic axiom, and step by step, following a logical progression, we must build a practical framework for waste management. We started this task in chapter 2, where we derived three general principles from the axiom of sustainable development. Can we apply these general principles to develop practical guidelines—first, to overcome the shortcomings of existing landfills, and second, to find other, innovative disposal methods that will conform with sustainable development? Let us look at each of the three principles in turn. Human health and the environment must be protected, both now and in the future. This principle is fundamental and places important constraints on the siting and design of disposal facilities, and also on the form of the waste. In particular, the final four words, “and in the future,” are very important. This principle can be satisfied in two ways: by reducing the toxicity of the wastes so they pose minimal risk, or by containing wastes so that they cannot escape and cause harm. In some cases, the latter method includes controlled leakage at a rate that the environment can assimilate without long-term degradation. Wastes must be managed so that no burden is placed on future generations and they are not deprived of the opportunities we have had. In other words, our grandchildren should not have to spend their valuable resources to solve our waste problems, nor should they be denied resources because our generation has depleted them. Neither should their health and environment be placed at risk because of our actions. The main impacts of landfills on future generations are the requirement to provide ongoing guardianship and maintenance; the loss of valuable land; and impairment of groundwater, surface water, and the atmosphere.
