There is evidence on the need to include physical exercise as a treatment for diseases. A large number of professionals are involved in this, but it is not known how physical exercise is prescribed and which professionals are involved. This research has two objectives: (a) to find out the current practices in Spain regarding the prescription of physical exercise in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and (b) to analyse the perception that different health and physical activity professionals have of their knowledge to prescribe of physical exercise in the treatment of CKD. This is an empirical research with an ex post facto retrospective analysis of the information in a descriptive and correlational way. A total of 692 health and sports professionals participated. A questionnaire validated by a committee of experts was administered. Descriptive analyses were carried out and the differences in the study variables were analysed using Chi-square tests and one-factor Analysis of Variance. From the results obtained, we conclude there is a need to develop specific training programmes in the field of physical exercise for health professionals, as well as the establishment of multiprofessional teams for the prescription of physical exercise in CKD treatment, including physical exercise professionals (Cafyde).

This article describes a study in which the closure success (i.e., status 26) rates for Caucasians and African Americans with mild and moderate mental retardation were analyzed. A series of chi-square tests were utilized to evaluate 40,046 cases obtained from the RSA-911 database for fiscal year 1997. Results indicated that African Americans with mild/moderate mental retardation were less likely to achieve closure success when compared to Caucasians with mild/moderate mental retardation. Results are presented for the dependent variable, and the implications of the findings for service and research are discussed.

The rise of digital technologies and their educational applications increasingly require the development of digital skills among university faculty. This study focuses on examining the level of digital competencies of university faculty and identifying their conditioning factors. To achieve this objective, an ex post facto methodological design with surveys is used. A sample of 216 university teachers from different regions of Ecuador was used. The non-parametric Chi-square test was used to validate the hypothesis of independence of the variables. The results obtained show that university faculty have a mostly intermediate level of digital skills, which is independent of gender, but dependent on the generational cohort. In particular, it is found that younger teachers (millennials) have a more advanced level of digital skills, although this relationship is not very strong. On the other hand, we observe the positive influence of the university’s strategic leadership in terms of technological adoption on the development of teachers’ digital skills. Universities with better technological resources and with training plans focused on the pedagogical application of technology have teachers with a more advanced level of digital skills. All of this leads to the recommendation that education policies should prioritise actions that promote the development of digital competencies among university faculty

Aims: Sugarcane ranks among top ten commercial crops grown in Kenya, but its productivity has been on the decline. This study investigated influence of scale of farm operation and farmers’ risk aversion on productivity. Risk aversion was based on farmers’ perceived risks associated with new high yielding, early maturing varieties. Study Design: The survey study adopted an ex post facto research design. Place and Duration of Study: The study was carried out in Nandi County, Western parts of Kenya along a sugarcane growing belt. Data was collected between April and September, 2019. Methodology: An enumerator-administered questionnaire was used to collect data from a sample of 198 respondents. Purposive and stratified random sampling techniques were used to select participants. Data was analyzed with the aid of SPSS Version 20. Chi square test and its related measure of strength of association; Cramer’s V, were utilized to estimate relationships between variables. Welch’s ANOVA (W-test) was run to test for yield differences between groups. Significant differences were subjected to post hoc tests using Games-Howell test to separate the means. Results: There was a significant association between farmers scale of operation and productivity;

This work is an analysis of the alignment between schools associated with an Indiana Assistant Principal of the Year, as selected by the Indiana Association of School Principals, and increases in academic performance of those schools on state mandated “high stakes” academic tests.  The focus was on school improvement using annual school report card data. Using a design looking for association and a Chi Square analysis, a significant positive correlation was identified.  The results shed some light on the potential excellent practices of assistant-principals and student academic achievement gains.  Although a positive correlation was found, the results can only give ideas for leadership consideration.  They are not considered predictive because of the ex-post facto nature of the data allowing for no manipulation of variables.

The purpose of the study is to assess the relationship between locus of control and superstitious behavior of people of UP. 300 participants were selected through quota sampling from various places of UP. Age and education related factors treated as controlled variables. To assess locus of control in subjects Hindi adaptation of “Rotter’s Locus of Control scale” of Dr. Anand Kumar & S.N. Srivastav has been used. It consists of 29 items in it. Superstitious Behavior Scale (self-constructed) has been used, which is consisting of 40 items. Each item have three alternatives: (a) I will definitely do it. (b) If not possible, I will not do it. (c) I don’t believe in it. Ex-post facto research design has been used. Data is analyse by chi-square method. Result show that external locus of control is responsible for high superstitious behavior.

This research is about studying the effect of environmental leadership and environmental personality on staffs’ perception toward greening institutions. There were around 6 research problems have been solved, including dependency between environmental leadership and environmental personality with staffs’ perception toward greening institutions. Therefore, an ex-post facto method by using 2 x 2 factorial designs had been applied. Each cell consisted of 16 staffs from provincial government institutions, South Sulawesi which selected randomly. There were three instruments have been developed such as Environmental Leadership (EL), Environmental Personality (EP), and Greening Institutions (GI) which measured in a scaling form. Its reliable was respectively .991 (EL), .907(EP), and .929 (GI). Data have been analyzed by implementing two-way ANOVA and Chi-Square. Research results show that there is highly significant difference of staffss’ perception toward greening institutions between stafss who perceived their superordinate to have transformational environmental leadership rather than transactional. There is highly difference of staffs’ perception toward greening institutions between staffs who has good and bad environmental personality. There is no significant interaction effect found between environmental leadership and environmental personality on greening institutions. Finally, there is dependency between environmental leadership and environmental personality with greening institutions. Based on these findings, it could be interpreted that staffs’ perception toward greening institutions might have been affected by environmental leadership independently without considering environmental personality. Therefore, if the greening institutions would be improved, environmental personality and environmental leadership could be taken in to consideration separately.

The phenomenon of language shift is brought about by language contact. Language shift from mother tongue to another language among the youth is an issue that cannot be wished away due to, inter alia, factors like urbanization, migration, multilingualism or bilingualism and the country’s language policy. Studies have also shown that there is notable difference in the use of language along gender lines. The objective of this study, therefore, is to assess the nexus between the gender variable and language shift among the youth in Nairobi County, Kenya. The study is anchored on a sociolinguistic theory known as the Domain Theory. The study adopted the ex-post facto research design. The study targeted students in public day secondary schools in Nairobi County, Kenya. The sample size of the study comprised 98 students drawn from public day secondary schools in three sub-counties in Nairobi County. Questionnaires were used as the tools of data collection. The reliability of the tool was computed using the Cronbach’s coefficient method with a reliability coefficient of 0.83. Descriptive statistics was used to describe the findings of the data. Chi-square tests were conducted to establish the relationship between gender and language shift. There was a significant relationship (χ2=18.143, p<0.05) between gender and the language used in communication with students of the same sex. There was also a significant relationship (χ2 =13.144, p<0.005) between gender and the language used at school. The findings also show that majority of those who use Kiswahili (62%), Sheng (100%), English and Sheng (100%) or Kiswahili and Sheng (100%) are males. The findings, therefore, show that female and male students use languages differently and therefore, language shift occurred differently between the two genders. The findings, therefore, imply that in schools, female students are more likely to use English while male students are more likely to use Sheng. Kiswahili is used equally among males and females while mother tongue is not used at all. The study concludes that gender plays a significant role in language shift among the youth in Nairobi County. The study recommends that the Ministry of Education reviews the current language policy to include instructions in mother tongue in secondary schools.
