This research study was meant to examine the relationship of organization commitment to job performance of academic staff. 320 academic staff was chosen for data collection using self-administered questionnaires. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed using structural equation modeling (SEM). Assessment of both measurement and structural models of the study were performed. Strong and significant positive association between organizational commitment and job performance was documented among academic staff. The findings of study further corroborated that committed academic staff not only added up to their quality and devotion, but also improved their efficiency and delivery of service. Implications of the study were also discussed.

The main aim of the study was to empirically investigate the mediating role of organizational commitment (OC) and person–organization fit (POF) between the causal relationship of supportive work environment (SWE) and employee retention (ER). One thousand questionnaires were sent to the targeted population included employees of all chains of multinational fast-food brands (restaurants) in Lahore, Pakistan. The restaurants were selected from clusters by using a cluster sampling technique. Questionnaires were comprised of multiple items adopted from former studies to obtain responses using quantitative methodology. For statistical analysis and to test the proposed hypothesis, the partial least squares (PLS) structural equation modeling (SEM) technique was employed through Smart PLS 2.0 M3 software. The study’s findings elucidated that SWE has a positive and significant association with ER. In addition, OC and POF acted as mediators between the relationship of a SWE and ER. This study presented implications for human resource (HR) practitioners that they should endure developing mechanisms for imparting a SWE to foster healthy exchange relationships with people, which in turn will result in ER. This article significantly contributed to the extant literature on the relationship of the SWE and ER while highlighting the critical factors to be noticed for retaining key employees. This study also explicated the limitations and scope for further research.

AbstractIn response to the call from the founders of the Interest-Driven Creator (IDC) theory, this study aimed to explore the relationship of the interest loop with creativity in the context of robotics education. Specifically, we designed a programmable robotics course for primary school students. We attempted to explore in detail how interest loop, i.e., triggering interest, immersing interest, and extending interest, exerts influences on students’ robotics creation. Eight hundred one online questionnaires were collected from students who participated in our designed programmable robotics activities. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was first used for validation of each study variable, and results suggested a good fit of the study variables in terms of convergent and discriminant validity. Then, structural equation modeling (SEM) was conducted for examining the potential relationships between them, and results indicated significant and positive paths from triggering interest to immersing interest, and from immersing interest to extending interest, suggesting the valid theoretical proposition of interest loop of IDC theory. In addition, immersing interest is positively related to robotics creation, which in turn increases the chance of extending interest. Our findings suggested the importance of raising students’ interest in robotics learning such that young students can become life-long interest-driven creators. Implications of the study were discussed at the end of the paper.

This research examines the relationship of materialism and self-congruity with behavioral problems of dogs and the owners’ intention to abandon them. This study focuses on owners of purebred dogs in Colombia (South America). Using the methodology of confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling, the results show that more materialistic consumers own pets that, in their own opinions, present more behavioral problems. These problems influence owners’ intention to abandon their pets. In addition, materialism appears as a construct that directly influences the intention to abandon the dogs. However, the acquisition based on the congruence between the characteristics of the dog and the owners’ self-concept negatively influences the behavioral problems shown by their pets and, consequently, the intention of the owners to abandon the animals. A social marketing intervention is presented as a part of the conclusions, which focuses on these consumers’ motivations, in order to improve some aspects of the dogs’ welfare in Colombia.

This study seeks to examine the influence of perceived internal marketing on organizational commitment and job performance. Based on extensive literature review, theoretical framework was proposed, with internal marketing as determinant, organizational commitment the mediator, and job performance the outcome. Targeting Generation-Y employees, a total of 568 valid questionnaires were collected nationwide through online and offline survey. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data with AMOS software. The findings indicate that perceived internal marketing, contributed positively to organizational commitment and job performance. Apart from the direct effect on job performance, organizational commitment also mediated the relationship between perceived internal marketing and job performance. This study also examined the four dimensions of internal marketing and effects. This paper concludes with the discussion of theoretical and practical implications, as well as limitation and suggestions for future study.

This study aimed to explore the relationship of consumer attributions, consumer skepticism toward CSR, and its influence on perceived CSR in Taiwan. Final usable questionnaires received from 659 respondents to reach the return rate of 78.8%. After confirming reliability and validity of survey questionnaire, the structural equation modeling was used for tests the model. Results were summarized as follows: (a) value-driven motives are negatively related to CSR skepticism, which was significant; however, the relationship was positive association. (b) CSR skepticism is positively related to ethical responsibility, which was supported. (c) CSR skepticism is negatively related to philanthropic responsibility, which was significant; however, the relationship was positive association. This study may make a positive contribution for business managers to understand the expectations of consumers in Taiwan.

This paper explores how employees' perception of an organization's innovativeness impacts their desire to continue an association with the organization. The study uses Structural Equation Modeling — LISREL to explore the relationship between latent constructs of the employees' Perceived Job Satisfaction, and Perceived Organizational Innovativeness (PORGI) with their desire for (employment) Continuance with the organization. PORGI is measured through perceived innovation management, organizational career culture, personnel and innovation management policies. The latent construct of "Employee Continuance" is measured through loyalty and a desire to stay. The latent construct of Job Satisfaction is measured by the perceived job satisfaction of the employees. A survey was conducted among Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) employees and the data was analyzed using LISREL confirmatory factor analysis. The results indicate that Perceived Organizational Innovativeness and Job Satisfaction have significant impact on employee retention. Employees that perceived the organization as being innovative demonstrated higher levels of loyalty and had a higher desire to stay connected with their organization. The study concludes that it behooves organizations to support innovative technologies, if only to improve employee retention. Additional organizational implications and technological adoption strategies to strengthen employee retention are discussed.

Porter s(/980) strategic typology was utilized to classify hotel firms by strategic orientation; and, an analysis of variance was performed to determine the differences in their performance. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship of the features of the value, satisfaction, and customer loyalty; the effect on the value of customer satisfaction and loyalty; influence of satisfaction on customer loyalty. A total of 200 merchant PT. BANK XYZ as respondents was selected randomly. Analyses were performed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The analysis showed that the feature has a significant influence on customer value, but not for customer satisfaction and loyalty. The values has a significant influence on satisfaction, but not on customer loyalty. Satisfaction has a significant influence on customer loyalty. Discussion and conclusions described in the article. Organizational commitment is an imperative aspect of occupational attitudes as it signals employees’ willingness to stay with their organization and effectively achieve collective goals. Although recent studies have assessed factors influencing police officers’ organizational commitment, very little is known about the antecedents of police commitment in African countries. Based on a survey of Nigerian police officers, the study assesses the linkage between organizational justice and organizational commitment directly and indirectly through organizational trust and job satisfaction. Structural equation modeling (SEM) indicates that the relationship between organizational justice and organizational commitment is principally indirect through the mediating mechanisms of supervisory trustworthiness and job satisfaction. Officers who express greater organizational justice report higher trust in their management and supervisors and, subsequently, stronger job satisfaction, leading to higher organizational commitment. Implications for future research and policy are discussed.

With the advent of the Internet and other digital technologies, contemporary businesses from all sectors are using social media for communication with consumers to engage them meaningfully with a brand. However, the use of social media for corporate social responsibility (CSR) communication is relatively new to the existing literature. Likewise, the impact of CSR communication through social media (CSR-S) on consumer emotions and behavior is, to date, underexplored. To address this, the present research aims to test the relationship of CSR-S on brand admiration and consumer purchase intention. The study proposes a direct relationship between CSR-S and purchase intention with a mediating effect of brand admiration. The data were collected from the banking consumers of Pakistan through a self-administered questionnaire. The authors distributed 800 questionnaires and received 463 questionnaires useful for data analysis, so the present research study response rate was around 59%. The data were analyzed using the structural equation modeling (SEM) technique in AMOS. The results revealed that CSR-S is positively related to purchase intention (β = 0.233). The results further showed that brand admiration partially mediates this relationship (β = 0.079). The survey respondents confirmed that their bank’s CSR communication helps enhance their purchase likelihood and their feelings of admiration for their bank. These findings will help policymakers at banking institutions better understand the importance of CSR communication on different social media platforms to achieve consumer-related outcomes.
