In this study, a green routing model is provided in a two-level network of cross docking given the shipping price. Three objectives were proposed in this model including: total cost reduction, shipping costs reduction and carbon emissions reduction. The overall objective of the model, is getting the best route in the distribution network which will impose the least cost and also minimizes emissions of environmental pollutants. For the model to approach the real situation, Pegah corporation’s warehouses and distribution network are considered as a case study. Solving the developed model was carried out by GAMS. By the size of the problem increasing, the running time of the program is notably increased and this means the problem is np-hard. So, in order to solve the model in medium and large dimensions, we used meta-heuristic MOGWO and NSGA II algorithm. The results of investigating various problems with meta-heuristics, indicates the high performance of the proposed algorithm in terms of the time needed and the response achieved. Results indicated that the proposed model reduced the emission of environmental pollutants along with total cost and shipping cost reduction. Also given the time window, the products were shipped to customers in a timely manner.

The authors point at the criticality of timely reproduction of longwall panels in coal mines toward sustainable and high-rate coal mining based on the utilization potential of modern longwall equipment. A case-study of SUEK-Kuzbass mines shows that there is a need to change approaches to improvement of economic efficiency and competitiveness of coal mining and to shift from the common practice of production cost reduction to productivity enhancement through implementation of high-performance equipment capabilities. Efficiency of road heading in mines of SUEK-Kuzbass is analyzed, and the main causes of long downtime in operation of modern high-performance continuous miners (CM) or continuous bolter miners (CBM) are identified. Recommendations have been developed for improved planning of preparatory works in mines and for introduction of significant action time margin to eliminate downtime when actual drivage performance lags behind the planning data. The action time structure of modern CBM is presented, and recommendations are given on CBM efficiency evaluation as actual action time in cutting road face rocks. The application areas of various modern CBM types are justified. Recommendations are proposed for changing the parameters of longwall panels and to change to multi-entry longwall panels in order to increase efficiency of preparatory works and actual coal production. The authors describe expediency of widespread use of shuttle cars to improve efficiency of haulage of rocks and materials. The organizational and technological principles of the efficiency increase in preparatory works in coal mines are substantiated.

In response to violent market competition and demand for low-carbon economy, cold chain logistics companies have to pay attention to customer satisfaction and carbon emission for better development. In this paper, a biobjective mathematical model is established for cold chain logistics network in consideration of economic, social, and environmental benefits; in other words, the total cost and distribution period of cold chain logistics are optimized, while the total cost consists of cargo damage cost, refrigeration cost of refrigeration equipment, transportation cost, fuel consumption cost, penalty cost of time window, and operation cost of distribution centres. One multiobjective hyperheuristic optimization framework is proposed to address this multiobjective problem. In the framework, four selection strategies and four acceptance criteria for solution set are proposed to improve the performance of the multiobjective hyperheuristic framework. As known from a comparative study, the proposed algorithm had better overall performance than NSGA-II. Furthermore, instances of cold chain logistics are modelled and solved, and the resulting Pareto solution set offers diverse options for a decision maker to select an appropriate cold chain logistics distribution network in the interest of the logistics company.

The scientific research works concerning the field of mechanical engineering such as, manufacturing machine slate, soil tillage, sowing and harvesting based on the requirements for the implementation of agrotechnical measures for the cultivation of plants in its transportation, through the development of mastering new types of high-performance and energy-saving machines in manufacturing machine slate, creation of multifunctional machines, allowing simultaneous soil cultivation, by means of several planting operations, integration of agricultural machine designs are taken into account in manufacturing of the local universal tractor designed basing on high ergonomic indicators. For this reason, this article explores the use of case studies in teaching agricultural terminology by means analyzing the researches in machine building. Case study method was firstly used in 1870 in Harvard University of Law School in the United States. Also in the article, we give the examples of agricultural machine-building terms, teaching terminology and case methods, case study process and case studies method itself. The research works in the field of mechanical engineering and the use of case studies in teaching terminology have also been analyzed. In addition, the requirements for the development of case study tasks are given in their practical didactic nature. We also give case study models that allow us analyzing and evaluating students' activities.

Cities and nations worldwide are pledging to energy and carbon neutral objectives that imply a huge contribution from buildings. High-performance targets, either zero energy or zero carbon, are typically difficult to be reached by single buildings, but groups of properly-managed buildings might reach these ambitious goals. For this purpose we need tools and experiences to model, monitor, manage and optimize buildings and their neighborhood-level systems. The paper describes the activities pursued for the deployment of an advanced energy management system for a multi-carrier energy grid of an existing neighborhood in the area of Milan. The activities included: (i) development of a detailed monitoring plan, (ii) deployment of the monitoring plan, (iii) development of a virtual model of the neighborhood and simulation of the energy performance. Comparisons against early-stage energy monitoring data proved promising and the generation system showed high efficiency (EER equal to 5.84), to be further exploited.
