HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill) is material used by the students for helping the achievement of the competency standard , the purpose of education of primary and competence have (Depdiknas.2006) This study aims to describe the implementation of learning based on High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in Elementary Schools in Malang. It is well known that the implementation of the 2013 curriculum suggests that the importance of applying HOTS to the learning process in elementary schools. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study in the form of research to see the effectiveness of its implementation in elementary school. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. There are 2 methods used, namely descriptive and evaluative methods. The study population was all elementary schools in Malang. The research sample there are 40 public elementary schools in all districts in Malang. Data was collected using interview guidelines, observation sheets, and documentation. The results showed: (1) the average level of success of teachers in formulating HOTS-based learning planning in SD Malang only reached 79.46 even though it was in the Good category. (2) The average success rate of the implementation of HOTS-based learning as a whole is at 74.81% with the Fair category. (3) The average success rate of HOTS-based authentic assessment formulation in SD Malang is at 74.65% with the Fair category. Thus, improvement efforts are still needed, especially those related to the implementation of learning and authentic assessment of HOTS-based learning in Malang Primary School.

This study aims to discuss the high order thinking skill approach in the sharah hadith method with regard to contemporary issues for the formulation of applied theology. This research method uses a qualitative type through literature study by applying the high order thinking skill approach. The results and discussion of this research include sharah hadith about kalam, tauhid science to applied theology, and from theology to service according to the high order thinking skill approach. The conclusion of this study is that the high order thinking skill approach allows being applied in the sharah hadith method with regard to contemporary issues for the formulation of applied theology. This study recommends the urgency of applying high order thinking skills as a research approach to contemporary issues in Islamic diversity.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the development of HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill) based news text assessment instruments for for 7th Grade Students in SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Medan. The study was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Medan. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2018/2019 school year. This type of research is research and development or Research and Development (R&D). This research is called R&D, by adopting eight steps of R&D research according to Sugiyono (2014: 137). The results of this study indicate that students' high-level thinking skills obtained an average score of 51.42. This value is in the medium category because the standard value is met 40 <x total score ≤ 60. The measurement results of the assessment instrument based on Higher Order Thinking Skill in the dimensions of students' persuasive text knowledge obtained superior conceptual ability results with a percentage of 76% in the sufficient category, followed by factual abilities with the percentage of 60% is in the sufficient category, students 'procedural knowledge is 58% with low category, and students' knowledge that is metacognitive there are 59% with enough category. Thus, it can be stated that the eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Medan have advantages in the conceptual dimension of knowledge and the ability to think at a high level with a medium category, ie students must be accustomed to working on questions based on Higher Order Thinking Skills so that students' abilities increase.

The test instrument given by the teacher to students has not required students to think at a high level in mathematics, the important thing is that students must be familiar with questions that require High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) to compete with other countries which can be seen in the TIMSS and PISA scores. The purpose of this study was to determine the students' high-order mathematical thinking skills, as well as to determine the validity, reliability, difficulty level, and differentiating power of the High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) oriented test instrument. This developmental research uses the ADDIE type.. There were 57 students who were used as subjects in this study. The results showed that 15 questions that were considered successful and valid were developed, this is the average score of the test instrument assessment by experts of 91% and the validity of each test item is declared "valid" because tcount ≥ ttable. The reliability of the test instrument for each package of questions was rated as reliable in the high category. In the analysis of the level of difficulty, it appears that the results are in the easy and medium categories. In the analysis of discriminatory power, it appears that the results are quite good and good. The average results of students' high-order mathematical thinking skills are insufficient category.

Kegiatan ini dilatar belakangi oleh hasil laporan mahasiswa tentang kondisi pembelajaran matematika dilapangan khususnya didaerah pesisir pantai labuhan haji, selain itu juga hasil kajian dan analisis beberapa dosen tentang fenomena ramainya siswa mengeluh dengan dimunculnya soal-soal kategori high order thinking skill (HOTS) pada ujian nasional tahun 2018 sehingga dirasa perlu untuk dilakukan pendampinga mengenali dan menyelesaikan Soal UN Matematik Kategori HOTS di MTs NW dan MA NW Selayar Kec. Sakra Timur. Adapun tujuan dari kegiatan ini 1) membantu siswa dan siswi MTs NW dan MA NW Selayar dalam mengenal dan menyelesaikan soal UN matematika kategori HOTS, 2) memberikan pengalaman langsung kepada beberapa mahasiswa tentang kondiri riil pendidikan di pesisir pantai Labuhan haji, dan 3) memberikan kesempatan kepada mahasiswa untuk melatih diri dalam berogranisasi dan mengajarkan konsep matematika dengan benar. Proses kegiatan ini meliputi 1) perencanaan, 2) pelaksanaan, dan 3) evaluasi dengan tim dosen dan mahasiswa dan pembuatan laporan. Hasil pendampingan program ini adalah 1) yayasan dan dewan guru merasa terbantu dalam memberikan pemahaman matematika yang benar kepada siswa, 2) 80% mahasiswa dapat mengenali soal UN Matematika kategori HOTS dan 65% dapat menyelesaikannya, dan 3) mahasiswa merasa percaya diri dan lebih semangat lagi untuk belajar karena diberikan kesempatan langsung merasakan bagaimana permasalahan dan pembelajaran di kelas. Dengan dilakukan pendampingan, kemampuan siswa MTs dan MA NW Selayar menyelesaikan soal UN Matematika berbasis HOTS mengalami peningkatan dari sebelumnya

This study aims to describe high order thinking skills students of class XI PMIA MAN Tanjung Morawa on cell learning with LKS assisted model PBL. This study included pre-experiment type with one group pretest posttest design and was conducted in four meetings. The research instrument used is a multiple choice test of 25 questions. Data obtained from this study include the value of students' high order thinking skill both in general and in every aspect. The data obtained were analyzed to obtain the average value. The result of data analysis shows that the average of students' high order thinking skill is generally good, that is 78,4. The average score of the students on the aspect of analyzing with the category was very good (82.1), evaluating with goodcategory (73,0) and creating with good category (78,6). Based on the results of the research, the LKS-assisted PBL learning model is very aptly used in training the high-class thinking ability of the class XI students at MAN Tanjung Morawa on the study of biology cell.Keyword : high order thinking skill, model PBL assisted student worksheet

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan metode penulisan jurnal reflektif berbasis High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) dalam pembelajaran menulis makalah melaui pengujian perbedaan menulis makalah sebelum dan setelah perlakuan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 34 mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia IKIP Siliwangi. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui potofolio hasil menulis makalah mahasiswa sebelum dan setelah perlakuan. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah tidak terdapat perbedaan antara kemampuan menulis makalah sebelum dan setelah penulisan jurnal reflektif dengan hasil perhitungan nilai signifikansi 0,128 > 0,05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kesadaran mahasiswa tidak cukup berpengaruh terhadap perbaikan dalam menulis makalah. Rekomendasi untuk pembelajaran dan penelitian selanjutnya adalah diperlukan upaya konkret dan praktis untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menulis makalah.

Abstrak            Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar PPKn kelas 5 SD melalui penerapan HOTS dalam model pembelajaran Small Group Discussion. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas).Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi, dan  studidokumen. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi aktivitas guru, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, dan tes hasil belajar.Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif.Subjek penelitian adalah kelas V SDN Sumogawe 03 Kabupaten Semarang Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan penerapan High Order Thinking Skill dalam model pembelajaran Small Group Discussion dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar PPKn siswa.Secara klasikal hasil belajar PPKn siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan persentase nilai yang diperoleh pada siklus I persentase yang diperoleh sebesar 50% dan siklus II sebesar 70%. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan High Order Thinking Skill dalam model pembelajaran Small Group Discussiondapat meningkatkan hasil belajar PPKnkelas 5 Sekolah Dasar. Kata Kunci: High Order Thinking Skill,Small Group Discussion, Hasil Belajar, dan PPKn. ABSTRACTThis research aims to improve the results of studying Pancasila and Citizenship Education of the fifth grade of primary school through the HOTS application within a learning model of Small Group Discussion. The research method used is CAR (Class Action Research). The collection of data technique uses test, observation, and documents’ study. The instruments used are observation sheets, teacher activity,  observation sheets  of student activity, and the test of studying results. The analysis of data technique used i.e. qualitative descriptive and quantitative. The subject of research is the fifth grade students of National Elementary Schools of Sumogawe 03 Semarang Regency, school year 2017/2018. The results of research shows that with the application of High-Order Thinking Skills within the learning model of Small Group Discussion is able to improve the results of studying Pancasila and Citizenship Education of the student. Classically, the result of studying Pancasila and Citizenship Education of the student getting an improvement with a values’ percentage  obtained on the first cycle at 50%  and on the second cycle  at 70%. So that, it is inferential that the application of High-Order Thinking Skills within the learning model of  Small Group Discussion is able to improve the results of studying Pancasila and  Citizenship Education of the fifth grade student of the elementary school. Key Words:High-Order Thinking Skills,Small Group Discussion, the results of the study, andPancasila and Citizenship Education.

The aim of this research is to produce HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill) lesson through a valid, practical, and effective discovery learning model for class XI high schools to improve students' critical thinking skills. This research is a development that refers to the Borg & Gall model. The subject trials for grade XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Sangatta Utara, East Kutai. Validity and practicality analysis techniques used percentage of descriptive techniques. The effectiveness analysis technique is by looking at the percentage of increase in students' pretest-posttest results. The result of this research in the form of development of learning tools which included: Syllabus, teaching materials, LKPD, and assessment instruments. The result showed that learning tools that have been developed meet the validity with a validity percentage of 99.66% which is categorized as very valid. The practicality of the lesson plan produced is very practical, this is indicated by the assessment of students as research respondents about 85.93%. HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill) lesson plan through Discovery Learning model to improve student’s critical thinking skills that are produced are able to provide the effectiveness learning, it looked through an increased in learning between pretest and posttest about 33%.Keywords: development, lesson plan, HOTS (high order thinking skill), discovery learning model, students' critical thinking skill

High Order Thinking Skills is the ability to connect, manipulate, and change the knowledge and experience that is owned critically and creatively in determining decisions to solve problems in new situations. In the 21st century or the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era, the learning model continues to change as a form of adjustment to the demands of the development of science and technology. The learning model that used to be still conservative in the auspices of LOTS (Low Order Thinking Skill) with the teacher / lecturer as the center of learning switched to the HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill) model by relying on reasoning, innovation and creativity to solve problems. So, the students become the center of learning. This study aims to design the shape of the HOTS learning model in the Research Methods subject. The prototype of the learning model is developed to be five steps / stages of learning, namely: (1) identifying problems based on observations of learning activities in schools, (2) selecting problems to study, (3) gathering information about the problems to be studied, (4) developing proposals, (5)presentation of proposals. The results of the study showed that the learning process of the Research Methods subject by applying the HOTS-based learning model would lead the students to form a critical attitude, increase independence and gain a lot of experience that are useful to compile scientific works including the completion of thesis preparation.

high order thinking skill is an important skill that student must have, especially in mathematics education. In the process of solving problems, students are required to be able to think fundamental and creative. The purpose of this research is to analyze the comparison of high order thinking ability of students in SMPN Cimahi based on school classification. The research method used is experimental with the design of two class and post-test only. the sample taken in this research is the students of class VII SMPN in Cimahi with high classification and moderate classification. The result of this research is there's still a very significant difference in high order thinking the skill of junior high school student in Cimahi city. SMPN with high classification has good high order thinking skills than SMPN with moderate classification. This is due to the following factors, (a) the students have different bits of intelligence; (b) the way students face difficulties (problems) that varies depending on how the students' everyday learning process; (c) the classification of schools have an effect on student’s high order thinking skill.
