The author studies and analyzes the process of reorganization of the Crimean research institute and the creation of the All-Crimean research institute of national-cultural construction and local history on its basis in 1932. Previously unpublished archival documents identified in the funds of the State Archive of the Russian Federation have been put into scientific circulation. The study uses little-known materials from the newspaper «Red Crimea», which allow us to fill the process of transformation of Soviet social and cultural life in the first half of the 30s of the twentieth century with factual content. The role of the teaching staff of the Crimean State Pedagogical Institute named after M. V. Frunze in the creation, development and activity of the institution is shown. The work plans of the Institute’s sectors and sections for the fourth quarter of 1932, as well as the influence of the People’s Commissariat of the RSFSR on the successful functioning of the organization, are considered in detail.

Abstract The obtaining, during the last few years, of poor performances at the baccalaureate in a large number of schools in Romania has been largely the result of an inefficient management, and of the lack of leaders able to efficiently influence the behavior of their subordinates. The improvement of the performance of the Romanian pre-university education system depends on the change of the mentality of the teaching staff and the promotion of transformational school leaders able to assume change and inspire and transform the mentality of the personnel in order to realize the goals of education. In this context, the present work approaches in an interdisciplinary manner the relation between leadership and the benefits of the knowledge society and has the purpose of identifying the factors specific of the knowledge society that can contribute to the creation of a transformational leadership in the Romanian pre-university education system.

Museums as cultural institutions certainly reflect the sociocultural transformations of the new era and are changing with the new reality. Except for that, a museum is, by definition, an institution of memory, a keeper of history, it is based on adoption: the collection, successiveness and actualisation of past experience. What is perceived as innovation by contemporary society may have historical roots and be an actualisation of innovations of a bygone era. Modern museum development recalls a global project undertaken by Russian avant-garde artists in the early 20th century, and implying the institutional modernisation of museums. This study addresses a project taken on by avant-garde artists for the modernisation of museums in the context of general cultural construction, in cooperation with the Soviet Government. The research methodology is based on a conjunction of a historical study and culturological analysis, primarily the concept of the institutional approach. The study consisted in looking through archival documents: The Fund of the People’s Commissariat for Education and its departments (declarations, provisions, resolutions, decrees, minutes of meetings, correspondence, protocols and statements of estimates, inventory books of the State Museum Fund etc.), personal funds of artists and cultural figures, their theoretical works, articles, correspondence. A holistic inter-disciplinary approach combining historical and culturological analysis with prospects for contemporary sociocultural development and the role of museums is seen as a promising novelty of the research. Russian avantgardism as an artistic and sociocultural phenomenon has remained of great interest for a century. Different studies shed light only on separate aspects of this vast topic in different scientific contexts. The examination of the museum project by avant-garde artists under this study allows us to conclude that they were the first to undertake the institutional modernisation of museums by considering them in the focus of new demands of time and society, innovative programmes as forms of personal initiatives and experiments expressed in the broad public space of artistic culture.

The purpose of the article is to analyze the main directions for the development of the theoretical foundations of special education and speech therapy in Ukraine during the 1940–1960's in the light of the decisions made by the pro-government bodies of the Ukrainian SSR. The article focuses on the need for critical analysis of the historical and pedagogical conditions for the development of speech therapy as a science in Ukraine as a definite experience for creative reflection in the course of modernization of special education in the current socio-economic, socio-political and cultural situation. A number of factors have been identified that have influenced the development of the special education system in different historical periods, such as: socio-economic conditions in the country; activity of the state towards people with various impairments in psychophysical development; legislation in the field of education and human rights; the state of special education as an integral branch of scientific knowledge. It was determined that the significant development of scientific and methodological work in the field of speech therapy at the beginning of the second half of the twentieth century was facilitated by the increase in the number of children with severe speech disorders, who needed vocational guidance and special forms of training and upbringing and by inconsistency of the existing network of pre-school and school education establishments for the specified category of children. The analysis of archival documents reflects important governmental decisions on the provision of professional correctional assistance to children with disorders of psychophysical development and the organization of scientific and methodological activities of scientists in the field. It is determined that scientific work in the field of special education and speech therapy in particular at different age periods was conducted by the staff of the Research Institute of Defectology, department, and later the laboratory of speech therapy of the Research Institute of Pedagogy, Defectology Faculty of the Kiev State Pedagogical Institute named after O. Gorky. As a result of the analysis of the problem, the peculiarities of scientific activity of state institutions were regarded through the prism of the state policy in the field of training and education of children with various disorders of psychophysical development.

The key issues of this work are the definition of all the development patterns and trends of higher historical education in Lviv during 1944?1957. During this period, it was possible to gain an education in history at the Lviv State University and at the Lviv State Pedagogical Institute. The main attention is paid to the problems faced by the history faculties in the post-war years: material and technical support, selection of teaching staff, recruitment of students for studying, and also the introduction of an ideological component into all areas of higher historical education. Demand for "ideological direction" had a significant impact on the educational-methodological and ideological process, which led to theestablishment of Soviet historical concepts, changes in the content of historical education and its unification under theSoviet style. The influence of party politics reflected on the teaching staff of the history faculties, because in this period attention was focused not only on professional qualities, but also on political convictions. This position was justified for the purpose of preventing the influence of teachers whose views were "ideologically and politically unverified" on the student environment. So-called "re-education" or "re-thinking" methods were applied to the teaching staff. The purpose of these methods was to recognize the correctness of the Soviet historical concepts and the Soviet world outlook in general. Significant requirements were placed on the students as well. Only students “with a clean political past” had the right to enter higher educational institutions. Educational and independent work with students at the historical faculties was based on the confirmation of the correctness of Marxist theories on the grounds of historical material, which was meant to become the basis for the formation of the Soviet world outlook among students of historians faculties. However, the change of the political course and redirecting education to be more technical in nature led to the elimination of the historical faculty at the Lviv State Pedagogical Institute, which established the Lviv University as the only center of higher historical education in Lviv.
