It is often needed in basketball practice to evaluate the stage of the young basketball players‘ preparation. In this way the necessary information is received which serves as a landmark about the level of their development – whether they have the necessary physical qualities and basketball skills, whether they go forward within the educational and training process and whether there is a perspective for their development as highly qualified competitors in the future. The disclosure of the factor structure of the physical development and the specific workability of growing up basketball players has high informative value for the optimization of the educational and training process. The aim of the study is to optimize the training process for growing basketball players by revealing the factor structure and identifying the main factors of sports preparedness in the age range of 15-16 years. The subject of research is the sports training of growing basketball players. The object of the study is the signs of physical development, the special physical and specific techno-tactical preparation. The research was done among 65 basketball players (15-16 years old). Sport and pedagogical tests as per 20 indicators, bearing information about the basic symptoms of the physical development and the specific basketball workability, were made for the needs of the study. The results of the tests were subjected to processing by descriptive statistics, correlation and factor analysis. Results: At the beginning of the study, seven main factors were identified that characterize the specific preparedness in basketball, while at the end of the study, the derived components were five.

The article presents the results of a study of game activity according to the index of technical and tactical skills of highly qualified basketball players who play in the Premier League of Ukraine among men's teams. The main components of the method of assessing the technical and tactical actions of players are the characteristics of the main components of the game, namely: effective transfers, rebounds under the shield, block shots, fouls on the player, loss of the ball, interception, fouls, the ratio of the number of effective throws of the ball into the basket with the total number of throws of the same player, the calculation of the ratio of the number of points scored by the player to the number of points scored by the team. It is important to assess the ratio of the player's time on the field to the total playing time, as well as the features of the game role. The high level of game activity of the team was revealed in the central players and one defender. The lowest level of technical and tactical skills was recorded in the attacking defender. According to the results of the index of the integrated indicator, the strengths and weaknesses of the competitive activity of highly qualified basketball players are analyzed. The strengths of the team include the rebounds, assists and fouls of the opponent on the player. Weaknesses that affected the course of the competition were the player's personal fouls and loss of the ball. On the basis of the conducted research the trainer can define means of correction of training process on technical and tactical readiness of players of various game roles.

In the training of all-round track and field athletes there are basically two ways to achieve high athletic performance. The first one is the improvement and development of those basic skills, to which the athlete is more predisposed (to speed, strength, etc.). The essence of the second one lies in the fact that it is aimed at equal improvement of all physical abilities for mastering the events included in decathlon and heptathlon (sprint events, jump events, speed-strength events and endurance events). The athletic performance rates of Ukrainian all-rounders, participating at these competitions, are 400-800 points behind. The best place of the Ukrainian athlete Olexiy Kasyanov at the World Championship 2009 was third with 8470 points, and the worst 23rd place was taken by Fedir Laukhin (7652 points) at the Olympic Games 2000 in Sydney (Australia). The irregular participation of Ukrainian all-round athletes in the main sports forums (Olympic Games and world championships) shows that the system of training decathletes in our country does not meet the expected standards. It is possible to distinguish many reasons for such performances. In recent years they are associated with the fact that the leaders of decathletes traditionally don’t participate in the championships of Ukraine. So, all other athletes have no possibilities to compete with the strongest in this particular sport and to show their highest results. And this happens along with the absence of highly qualified coaches and conditions for the educational and training process.

AbstractIntroduction. The paper aims to identify and systematise basic psychological factors which can influence athletes’ training and competitive activity.Material and methods. In order to achieve the aim of the study, we carried out an expert survey and analysed its results statistically. The survey, whose concordance coefficient was 0.78, was completed by 12 experts in the field (sports scientists and highly qualified athletes).Results. The study of the scientific and methodological literature about psychological correction taking into account the practice of athletes’ training made it possible to formulate and systematise a number of key psychological factors (volitional, strategic, perceptive-aimed, anticipatory, managerial, psychophysiological, intellectual, introspective, and motivational) that affect the mental state and training process of athletes. The content and forms of the manifestation of psychological factors during competitive activity are examined, and their interrelations are studied. Integral indicators of psychological factors which influence competitive activity in Olympic sports are determined, and their priority of importance is examined.Conclusions. According to the experts’ opinions, among the integral indicators of the psychological factors influencing athletes’ activity, the leading ones are motivational, volitional, and psychophysiological factors. The results of the expert survey concerning the psychological factors influencing Olympic sports (game, cyclic, and complex coordination sports as well as martial arts) are analysed.

The introduction of an updated test battery, covering tests accessible for all age groups and with duration of one training session is needed for the execution of effective control on the growing up basketball players. The purpose of the study was to create an updated test battery for basketball players (boys and girls) of U12, U14, and U16, including three groups of indicators: for physical development, physical preparedness, and technical skills. Three hundred and ten children from the clubs in the country (137 boys and 173 girls) participated in the sport-pedagogical tests. We applied a new test battery, covering 21 indicators, divided into three groups: for physical development, physical preparedness, and technical skills. The results were processed with a variation analysis and comparative analysis by the t-criterion of Student. The results showed statistically important differences for both sexes between U12 and U14 for the physical development and physical preparedness signs and for some tests in relation to the technical preparedness. An important difference was observed between U14 and U16 from both sexes for some of the sings only; as far as the technical skills were concerned, the differences for the boys were due to occasional reasons; for the U16 girls, they were considerably better than the U14 girls. The new test battery objectively reflects the real status of the level of all U12, U14, and U16 competitors. Normative tables will be developed to help the work of the coaches in relation to the optimization of the school-training process.

For the purpose of the study was conducted assessing of the level of indexes presenting physical development and specific performance of all respondents (13-14-year-old). Results and discussion. The use of evaluation (through sigmal method) allows comparing the level of all monitored indexes, regardless of the different measuring units, and on this basis to determine the highlights for future training process for each respondent individually. For solving the purpose and objectives of the following study, individual results of each respondent are assessed based on average level results of each index included in the test battery for selection and evaluation of physical development and specific sport performance. Conclusions. The group of 13-14-year-olds as a whole, is well selected, but the possibilities of 6 children included in it currently does not meet the specific requirements of sport cycling. We need to be much effort in working with these children, the highlights are aimed at developing the signs, which estimates T are lowest.
