Introduction. Changes in the basketball game rules, improvement of training methods for young athletes, and current trends in the development of the game in the world change views and attitudes of experienced coaches to the organization of the training process. Debatable questions between supporters of early game specialization and their opponents regarding the determination of the specialization starting time, choice specifics, peculiarities of requirements, and approaches to the training of technical and tactical actions for the respective game role of players stipulate to emphasise the problem and its consideration. Aim is to investigate and substantiate the approaches for coaches of children and youth teams to the organization of the educational and training process concerning the game roles of young basketball players. Material and methods: analysis and generalization of data taken from scientific and methodical literature sources and the Internet, comparative and historical (comparative) research method, questionnaires using google-form, methods of mathematical statistics. Results. Due to 11 questions of the google-form, a survey of 27 coaches of the All-Ukrainian Youth Basketball League was conducted regarding debatable issues related to the training of young basketball players. Modern approaches to the work of coaches-practitioners were implied to determine the game specialization starting time, choice specifics, the peculiarities of requirements, and approaches to training technical and tactical actions of players of the appropriate role. Conclusion. The current position for experienced coaches of children and youth teams of boys and girls, who won prizes in the All-Ukrainian Youth Basketball League was defined, regarding approaches to the educational and training process concerning the beginning of studying and features of the requirements for game specialization. It was found that the majority of respondents develop the skills for the game of a young basketball player in a specific game role at the age of 13-14 and against early specialization; the priority of the choice for the game role focuses on the physical qualities and realization of distribution during training according to three categories (defender, striker, central); among the requirements for the role are the basic functionality of technical and tactical actions, the need to compete in different roles and the need to acquire skills and abilities to implement in the competitive process, inherent to the adjacent roles

The paper presents the sanitary-hygienic characteristics of the conditions for practicing mass sports in youth sports schools. 10 sports schools were examined, microclimate and lighting parameters were measured, medical and pedagogical observations were made on the organization of the training process. Results: children and youth sports schools are in demand among residents of Ekaterinburg. Moreover, given the overcrowded sections in a number of sports and the widespread use of rented premises for classes, the demand for these services far exceeds the opportunities available in the city. The existing sports base is developing, in a number of schools systematic repairs are being carried out, and modern sports equipment is being purchased. At the same time, the training process safety is not fully ensured in any of the schools surveyed. The main problems are an incomplete set of main and auxiliary premises, insufficient space of the premises, lack of conditions for the provision of medical care, defects in the floor covering or areas, violations of the air-heat, light modes, cleaning mode of the premises and drinking regime. The training process as a whole is organized rationally. However, in some kinds of sports, the training duration exceeds the permissible values and there is no proper control over the behavior of children by the coach.

Aim. The paper aims to study the factor structure of physical fitness in basketball players and identify tests for a qualitative and quantitative assessment of their skills. Materials and methods. The study was conducted from September 2017 to May 2018 at Vyatka State University, Kirov. Fifty-three students were examined, all of them participated in the University Basketball Championship. A theoretical analysis of scientific literature sources and a pedagogical experiment were conducted. Mathematical statistics and pedagogical testing were used as methods. Results. Twelve tests were selected and checked for reliability that influenced most the physical fitness of basketball players in terms of strength, speed, jumping ability. Three hypothetical latent factors were identified that optimally determined the combination of these tests: “jumping ability / speed”, “explosive force/endurance”, and “strength”. Using factor analysis and an intercorrelation matrix, the most informative physical fitness tests were identified: standing vertical jump, 20 m shuttle run, pull-ups, which are used in the educational and training process of basketball players. Conclusion. The data obtained from the pedagogical experiment are of practical interest, primarily for trainers and university teachers. These tests do not require expensive equipment and can be performed in a gym, at the same time being the most informative in a limited time, which is typical for the educational and training process of students. This approach increases the efficiency of classes and optimizes the educational process. A comprehensive assessment of students will make it possible to track their health and physical fitness. Such data will allow adjusting the training process in the most effective way.

It is often needed in basketball practice to evaluate the stage of the young basketball players‘ preparation. In this way the necessary information is received which serves as a landmark about the level of their development – whether they have the necessary physical qualities and basketball skills, whether they go forward within the educational and training process and whether there is a perspective for their development as highly qualified competitors in the future. The disclosure of the factor structure of the physical development and the specific workability of growing up basketball players has high informative value for the optimization of the educational and training process. The aim of the study is to optimize the training process for growing basketball players by revealing the factor structure and identifying the main factors of sports preparedness in the age range of 15-16 years. The subject of research is the sports training of growing basketball players. The object of the study is the signs of physical development, the special physical and specific techno-tactical preparation. The research was done among 65 basketball players (15-16 years old). Sport and pedagogical tests as per 20 indicators, bearing information about the basic symptoms of the physical development and the specific basketball workability, were made for the needs of the study. The results of the tests were subjected to processing by descriptive statistics, correlation and factor analysis. Results: At the beginning of the study, seven main factors were identified that characterize the specific preparedness in basketball, while at the end of the study, the derived components were five.

Digitalization has transformed all aspects of life, from social interactions to the working environment and education, something that accelerated with the emergence of COVID-19. The same stands for education and training activities, where the use of digital tools has been gradually advancing and become merely online because of the virus. This brought forth the need to discuss further the applications, benefits, and challenges of digital tools within the framework of the education and training process, and the need to study examples of successful applications. This study aims to support both these requirements by presenting the case study of REFUGEEClassAssistance4Teachers project and its outcomes.
