Wheeled forest machines currently dominate the logging industry in Russia and in the world. Every year in Russia, the share of machine-made wood harvesting using Scandinavian technology increases, which involves felling trees, delimbing, and bucking them at a swath. Moreover, this technology is used not only for conventional two-machine systems with harvester and forwarder. In some regions of Siberia three-machine systems are gaining popularity. They consist of a feller-buncher, a swath processor, and a forwarder for skidding obtained logs. The issue of increasing the efficiency of forwarders is relevant for the timber industry. Its solving is possible on the basis of a comprehensive assessment of design solutions with the use of modern modeling and process optimization tools at the stage of development design. This approach requires deep theoretical and experimental research and is of great scientific and practical interest. When determining the maximum volume of skidded wood, the following machine limitations are considered: by bearing capacity; by tangential traction force; by the traction of the mover with the soil (tangential traction force should not exceed the traction force of the mover with the driving surface – the soil of the logging site). Besides this, there are recommendations to limit the weight of the skidder with the load, based on the permissible track depth after the first pass of the machine; it is believed that this figure should not exceed 20 cm. This statement is supported by the results of studies of the track development under the cyclic influence of the wheel mover (that is when the forwarder repeatedly passes the same section of the portage). This raises the question of forwarder productivity in the skidding operation with the regard to the track depth limitation. This scientific article is prepared on the basis of normative legal acts, materials of investigative and judicial practice, it deals with the most pressing issues of combating corruption in modern Russia. A special place is given to the presentation of the existing problems of prevention, suppression and disclosure of crimes of corruption at the present stage of development of the Russian Federation. Scientific and practical interest is represented by the stated measures directed on effective counteraction to corruption manifestations, and also offers on their improvement taking into account the developed practice and positive experience of foreign countries. The article discusses and reveals the topical issues of promotion of anti-corruption behavior and anticorruption legal awareness in law schools and with the personnel of law enforcement agencies, in particular, improving the criteria for the selection of candidates for positions of employees. The expediency and applicability of the above measures not only to current and future law enforcement officers, but also to all civil servants and employees of other industries exposed to corruption risks and conflicts of interest are fully justified. The results of the application of anti-corruption measures with their proper use, as well as compliance with the principles of continuity and ubiquity of their implementation. It is indicated that the use of the above means, measures and principles of anti-corruption behavior of civil servants leads to a significant reduction in the number of corruption crimes in the internal Affairs bodies and complicates the further appearance of this type of criminal attacks of corruption orientation.

Making the right management decisions in the logging industry is a complex multi-factorial task. The multivariance of solutions consists of various options for the application of technological chains of logging operations and timber transportation. Indeed, today the market offers a lot of options for systems of forestry machines, with or without forest storage with timber transportation at different seasons. Previous studies propose mathematical dependencies, an algorithm, and methods to solve all these problems. It makes it possible to search for the maximum flow of minimum cost in the dynamic structure of the technological process of performing work at the enterprise. They determine the conditions for solving the problem by the graph method. However, the proposed calculations for graphs with a large number of vertices and arcs connecting them are very laborious and require a lot of time. To solve this problem, the article presents the development of a computer application that performs basic calculations and calculates the optimal technological sequence of operations. The algorithms of the application, its description and principle of operation have been presented. The developed program enables to automate the process of finding the optimal sequence of technological operations in the logging enterprise operating procedure. Upon receipt of the results, it is possible to compare and analyze various process options for decision making.

The article presents the results of practical and theoretical studies in the field of application of balloon-cable systems capable of operating in the mode of vertical removal of a tree from a forest canopy and its subsequent transportation to a loading point. The relevance of this technological direction lies in the impossibility of traditional forestry equipment to carry out the process of harvesting and transporting wood without violating environmental requirements. It is noted that clear environmental effect can be achieved using air wood harvesting and transportation means, in particular when using balloon systems. A brief description of the operation of the load-gripping cutting mechanism used for the vertical skidding system using balloon-cable systems is given. It is indicated that the main parameters of these mechanisms that affect their effective operation are the mass of the mechanism and the speed of its lowering to the tree crown. The method of calculating the optimal mass of load-gripping cutting mechanism is given depending on the type of wood being processed and the speed of lowering. Brief recommendations for calculating mass and speed of movement with the possible use of an ascending load-gripping cutting mechanism are given

The traditionally used mixed grouser of the metal track link causes a decrease in the traction qualities of the agricultural tractor. The use of a rear grouser on the track link, in our opinion, will significantly improve the traction properties of an agricultural tractor with a metal track and reduce the soil destruction. When the rear grouser is immersed in the soil, an additional horizontal deformation of the soil occurs, which changes the law of horizontal deformation distribution along the support surface of the trackdrive, which ensures the alignment of the link shares in the implementation of the tangential traction force. This leads not only to a reduction in the trackdrive skidding, but also to a reduction in tractor rolling losses. Comparative tests of the T-4A tractor with a serial track, and a track on which links the front grousers were removed showed that the maximum traction power increases from 59 to 65 kW, the skidding with a hook load of 40 kN decreases from 14.6 to 9.4%, the rolling resistance coefficient decreases from 0.093 to 0.072, eliminates the “scissors” effect, which will reduce the number of erosive-dangerous particles in the track trace to 30...40%, which is 5.6...4.25 times less than in agricultural tractors with a mixed grouser, which confirms the effectiveness of their use.

Those samples which swell rapidly when exposed to water are, at best, difficult to section for transmission electron microscopy. Some materials literally burst out of the embedding block with the first pass by the knife, and even the most rapid cutting cycle produces sections of limited value. Many ion exchange resins swell in water; some undergo irreversible structural changes when dried. We developed our embedding procedure to handle this type of sample, but it should be applicable to many materials that present similar sectioning difficulties. The purpose of our embedding procedure is to build up a cross-linking network throughout the sample, while it is in a water swollen state. Our procedure was suggested to us by the work of Rosenberg, where he mentioned the formation of a tridimensional structure by the polymerization of the GMA biproduct, triglycol dimethacrylate.
