Abstract: Ferritin is a kind of protein that is important in iron metabolism. In normal condition, ferritin saves iron that can be used again as a required. In iron overload, iron body store is greatly increased and there is much ferritin in the system, such as the liver and spleen. This study aimed to determine the relationship of ferritin and protein intake among pregnant women in North Bolaang Mongondow in 2015. This was an analytical study with a cross sectional design. The population was all pregnant women in North Bolaang Mongondow. There were 72 people as samples obtained with purposive sampling method. Low ferritin levels were found in 26 respondents (36.1%) while normal ferritin levels were found in 46 respondents (63.9%). There were 18 respodents (44.4%) with enough protein intake. Of the 18 respondents, there were 2 respodents (11.1%) with low ferritin levels and 16 respondents (88.9%) with normal ferritin levels. The chi-square test with a confidence level 95% showed that there was a significant correlation (P = 0,019) between the level of ferritin and protein intake among pregnant women. Conclusion: There was a significant correlation between the level of ferritin and protein intake in pregnant women II-III trimesters in North Bolaang Mongondow. Keywords:ferritin, protein intake, pregnant women.

Stunting in toddlers is characterized by a shorter height compared to other children of his age. This study aims to identify the relationship between knowledge about the first 1000 days of life in mothers of children under five with stunting under five in non-stunting priority villages (Tanjung Baru Village, Batang Lubu Sutam District, Padang Lawas Regency). Cross sectional research design. The study population was all mothers who had toddlers totaling 146 people and the sample was calculated using the Slovin formula (n = 60) and the sample was taken using accidental sampling. The results showed that 55% of children under five in Tanjung Baru Village were stunted and 61.7% of mothers of children under five had knowledge of 1000 HPK in the low category. The results of the chi square test concluded that there was a relationship between knowledge in the first 1000 days of life with stunting under five in non-stunting priority villages (p<0.005). These findings suggest the handling of stunting in an effort to increase knowledge of 1000 HPK for mothers of children under five through counseling and counseling activities on a regular basis at the posyandu.

Children's health and growth are issues that need continuous attention by various parties, such as the government and family. As a result of malnutrition status in infancy can cause growth retardation, causing toddlers to be lazy to do activities related to energy production, disruption of the toddler's immune system so they are susceptible to infectious diseases, inhibited optimal brain growth, and changes in behavior exhibited by toddlers such as not calm, easy crying and its ongoing impact is apathetic behavior. Based on the preliminary survey in the Meurebo Sub-District, West Aceh Regency, there were 4 toddlers suffering from malnutrition and 11 people with underweight nutritional status. The aims of study was to look at the socio-economic relationship with nutritional status of toddlers. This study uses quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach using a chi-square test with a standard error of 0.05. The population of this study were 46 peoples with those taken based on sample distribution. The results obtained by the value of sig = 0.007 which means smaller than the value of α = 0.05, so it can be concluded a significant relationship between socio-economic and nutritional status of toddler

Diarrhea is a symptom of infection in the intestinal tract with the second death rate in the world in children under five years of age. Risk factors for the incidence of diarrhea in children under five are host factors that increase susceptibility to diarrhea, not giving exclusive breastfeeding (ASI), not giving breastfeeding for 2 years, malnutrition, measles and immunodeficiency. Breastfeeding (ASI) contains the best nutrients that match the needs of the baby and exclusive breastfeeding is carried out from birth to the first six months without any additional food or drink. Several studies have shown that the immunity content of breastfeeding is able to coat the gastrointestinal mucosa and protect the digestive tract from incoming pathogens. The aim of this study is to find out the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of diarrhea in children aged 6-24 months at Puskesmas Aek Parombunan, Sibolga Selatan in 2019. The research design used was observational analytic cross-sectional with the criteria for the research sample of toddlers aged 6-24 months. The sampling technique in this study used total sampling. The research instrument was a medical record and data analysis used the chi-square test. Based on the results of the study, there was a relation between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of diarrhea.
