In recent years, Metaverse has become a new type of social network. It provides an integrated platform and interactive environment for users to design artifacts and cooperate with each other. Facing this new type of social network, this chapter focuses on the cognitive and interactive behavior of users in the collaborative design activities. The chapter consists of three stages. In stage one the chapter introduces related theories and previous studies in order to present the Metaverse features. In stage two, the author chooses two different design and interactive environments to compare with Metaverse, which are, a normal face to face environment and a regular distance environment. Then the author executes three experiments in these different environments. In stage three, the author analyzes the retrospective data of three experiments with qualitative analysis by undertaking contextual inquiries in order to structure cognitive and interactive models of three environments. Furthermore, the author also executes an in-depth interview to get the qualitative data of subjects’ opinion. Finally, the affinity diagrams could be established with these models and the interview to provide knowledge of Metaverse for readers who research or develop social network environment.

AbstractDensification and sparsification of social networks are attributed to two fundamental mechanisms: a change in the population in the system, and/or a change in the chances that people in the system are connected. In theory, each of these mechanisms generates a distinctive type of densification scaling, but in reality both types are generally mixed. Here, we develop a Bayesian statistical method to identify the extent to which each of these mechanisms is at play at a given point in time, taking the mixed densification scaling as input. We apply the method to networks of face-to-face interactions of individuals and reveal that the main mechanism that causes densification and sparsification occasionally switches, the frequency of which depending on the social context. The proposed method uncovers an inherent regime-switching property of network dynamics, which will provide a new insight into the mechanics behind evolving social interactions.

The article shows that the ongoing processes of networkization, digitalization and hybridization lead to the creation of such a sociotechnical phenomenon as information and analytical platforms, which actualize a new type of social network relations between authorities and citizens in the public space of communications. In these conditions, a new methodology of public administration is required, which would take into account the digital realities of the modern world. According to the authors, the new concept of public administration should be built taking into account the development of a methodology for the following mutually conditioned processes: 1) creation of information and analytical platforms of the digital society; 2) formation of social structures in the network space; 3) configuration of relational networks for solving socially significant problems. It should be based on the actor-network concept and the digitalization ethics, the social network analysis, the relational sociology, the concept of figuration, the fractal-evolutionary concept, the concept of configuring a relational network of stakeholders.

This study was carried out to examine the variables affecting the social networks of the elderly. A simple random sampling method was used as a data collection method in the research. The data were collected through face-to-face interviews. The participants of the study are 500 individuals aged 60 and over from members of the Ankara branch of the Turkish Pensioners Association. According to the results of the study, there is a considerable negative correlation between social network and depression (r=-0.40, p =0.001) and loneliness (r=-0.49, p =0.001). Also, social loneliness and depression is the stronger negative predictor of the social network. Moreover, there is a considerable positive correlation between social network and perceived available support (r=-0.52, p =0.001). In addition, there is a moderate positive correlation between social network and successful aging behavior (r=-0.30, p =0.001) and life satisfaction (r=-0.35, p =0.001).

This article takes China’s A-share non-financial industry listed companies from 2007 to 2015 as a sample, starting from the social network algorithm, to study whether the grouping behavior of institutional investors in the network can affect the degree of executive reduction in the future. The study found that there is a significant positive correlation between the shareholding ratio of institutional investors in group holdings and the degree of future reduction of executives. This article explores the interactive behavior of Chinese institutional investors in the network, and expands the research of institutional investors on corporate governance and executives’ future reduction behaviors.

The number of people with spinal injuries that caused disability is increasing each year. More often those injuries are caused by car accidents, after having a fall from height or dipping into the water. There are experienced radical changes in life that people face after spinal injuries. The disability is often accompanied by depressive moods that influence rehabilitation process and decisions about the future. Therefore the article analyzes how social network can help to shape a projection to the future after the spinal injuries. The possibilities of social network for people suffering from spinal injuries were barely analyzed in Lithuania, though studies of the foreign authors show that social network is eminently important recreating person’s possibilities in all spheres of life – from employment [1] to inclussion [2]. Social network also impacts the quality of further life [3]. Aim of the research was to analyze educational possibilities of social network after spinal injuries. Qualitative research is presented in the article. Twenty fives respondents from various regions of Lithuania participated in the research. The majority of research participants had spinal injuries (Th1–Th10) after the car accidents. In depth interview was used for gathering research material, then content analysis was applied. The research results were similar to those in the studies published by the foreign authors [1, 2, 4]. Social network is undoubtedly one of the most important for people after spinal injuries. The research results revealed that educational possibilities after spinal injuries of social network were realized via three main domains support after spinal injury, possibilities to choose as competence strengthening, control as a mean of empowerment and activation. The respondents of the research stated that support gained from the social network was the very first and the most important factor which impacted educational possibilities for the future. Social network also played an important role in having a possibility to choose. The research showed that very often people after the spinal injuries pursued not to change other factors of their life and tried to remain independent as much as possible. Technical aid as driving a car, learning new profession and others were mentioned as very important educational aspects gained with the help of social network. The research revealed that spinal injuries caused changes in the inner features of a person, they felt the need to help others in similar situations,, seek control of their life via occupation, aspired to study and work alternatively. In such a way people had a feeling of life control that worked as empowerment. Keywords: spinal injury, disability, social network.

Objective: To describe the impact that social networks can have on the recruitment and selection of their employees. Question Problem: How can the social network favor the recruitment and selection of employees of a company? Methodology: Literature review. Results: The evidence of the results showed that technologies through social networks can be relevant for the recruitment and selection of people for the organization. But this recruitment should be done with a differentiated look at each type of social network by the recruiter. Final Considerations: Recruitment and selection have been changing as a traditional (face-to-face) way for the technological (virtual) mode. The study mentioned that social networks are tools capable of bringing to the recruiter candidates able to take the organization responsibly and that there are no barriers in the virtual world to find the ideal candidate. It is emphasized the importance of extending this study based on scientific evidence, in which research can be carried out in companies for the use of social networks in the monitoring of their employees.

The social climate and cultural atmosphere of the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 70's early 80's plus the emergence of the nascent microcomputer industry made for a social network and approach that fostered the creation of a new type of collaborative electronic music ensemble with techniques that have come to be known as “Computer Music Network”. A transformation from initial heterogeneous to a more homogeneous underlying paradigm has brought with it aesthetic questions about the reason and evolution of this new genre.
