Guided by the lens of psychodynamic theory, Ford (2015) investigated the challenges faced by adoptive families of traumatized children. Fifteen families were randomly selected to participate in this study from a group of 30 parents who adopted traumatized children in Arizona. Thematic categories were drawn and summarized. Textual descriptions evolved from the thematic groups acknowledging their experiences and how these lived experiences guided their decision to adopt a traumatized child. Verification techniques, data mining, journaling, clustering, brainstorming, and peer reviews were used to ensure the quality of data. Emergent themes emphasized the need for adoption-focused training specific to traumatized children. Ford's (2015) study revealed that these adoptive families desired to be equipped with specialized therapeutic training before and after their adoptions.

Abstract The quality of a dataset used for evaluating data linking methods, techniques, and tools depends on the availability of a set of mappings, called reference alignment, that is known to be correct. In particular, it is crucial that mappings effectively represent relations between pairs of entities that are indeed similar due to the fact that they denote the same object. Since the reliability of mappings is decisive in order to perform a fair evaluation of automatic linking methods and tools, we call this property of mappings as mapping fairness. In this article, we propose a crowd-based approach, called Crowd Quality (CQ), for assessing the quality of data linking datasets by measuring the fairness of the mappings in the reference alignment. Moreover, we present a real experiment, where we evaluate two state-of-the-art data linking tools before and after the refinement of the reference alignment based on the CQ approach, in order to present the benefits deriving from the crowd assessment of mapping fairness.

Increasingly, large organizations are engaging in data warehousing projects in order to achieve a competitive advantage through the exploration of the information as contained therein. It is therefore paramount to ensure that the data warehouse includes high quality data. However, practitioners agree that the improvement of the quality of data in an organization is a daunting task. This is especially evident in data warehousing projects, which are often initiated “after the fact”. The slightest suspicion of poor quality data often hinders managers from reaching decisions, when they waste hours in discussions to determine what portion of the data should be trusted. Augmenting data warehousing with data mining methods offers a mechanism to explore these vast repositories, enabling decision makers to assess the quality of their data and to unlock a wealth of new knowledge. These methods can be effectively used with inconsistent, noisy and incomplete data that are commonplace in data warehouses.

The aim of this study is to explore patients’ experiences and how their rehabilitation and physiotherapy at a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has affected their quality of life (QOL) due to osteoarthritis (OA).  In addition, this study also aims to explore patients’ perspectives of the rehabilitation and physiotherapy for their OA before and after which affects moreover their QOL. The seven domains of the QOL were the physiological, social, financial,environmental, psychological, level of independence and spiritual – aimed to guide the theme of the interview sessions. A qualitative design was used. Of the 50 patients purposively enrolled only six were selected using inclusion and exclusion criteria.  Thematic analysis addressed the seven domains of the QOL for data analysis.  A 60-minutes interview session was audio-recorded.  The rehabilitation therapy was explored on all seven domains of the QOL. Of the six respondents four explored their lived experiences on the social and environmental domain, while fiveon the physiologic domain. The spiritual, psychological, level of independence and financialdomains were mostly explored by the six respondents that have affected their QOL.

The results of data warehousing and data mining are depending essentially on the quality of data. Usually data are assumed to be numbers or vectors, but this is often not realistic. Especially the result of a measurement of a continuous quantity is always not a precise number, but more or less non-precise. This kind of uncertainty is also called fuzziness and should not be confused with errors. Data mining techniques have to take care of fuzziness in order to avoid unrealistic results.

This paper describes the results of calculating hospital admission dates by computer using a relatively simple scheduling process. The scheduling process was developed as an extension to an existing computer-assisted waiting list system being used in a department of Urology. Results were obtained by observing the behaviour of the system over periods of 6 months before and after extension, and by running the extended system as part of a simulation model. It is shown that the relatively simple computer scheduling process can be used to satisfactorily replace a substantial part of the former manual scheduling, and that the quality of data present in the computer-assisted waiting list system prior to extension was adequate to support the new process. The extension results in a significant saving of clinicians' time with negligible increase in running costs.


The absence of labels and the bad quality of data is a prevailing challenge in numerous data mining and machine learning problems. The performance of a model is limited by available data samples with few labels for training. These problems are ultra-critical in multi-label classification, which usually needs clean data. Multi-label classification is a challenging research problem that emerges in several applications such as multi-object recognition, text categorization, music categorization and image classification. This paper presents a literature review on multi-label classification, various evaluation metrics used for analyzing performance and research hchallenges.

One goal in electron microscopy of biological specimens is to improve the quality of data to equal the resolution capabilities of modem transmission electron microscopes. Radiation damage and beam- induced movement caused by charging of the sample, low image contrast at high resolution, and sensitivity to external vibration and drift in side entry specimen holders limit the effective resolution one can achieve. Several methods have been developed to address these limitations: cryomethods are widely employed to preserve and stabilize specimens against some of the adverse effects of the vacuum and electron beam irradiation, spot-scan imaging reduces charging and associated beam-induced movement, and energy-filtered imaging removes the “fog” caused by inelastic scattering of electrons which is particularly pronounced in thick specimens.Although most cryoholders can easily achieve a 3.4Å resolution specification, information perpendicular to the goniometer axis may be degraded due to vibration. Absolute drift after mechanical and thermal equilibration as well as drift after movement of a holder may cause loss of resolution in any direction.

The purpose of this study is (1) to analyze public perception on urban services before and after the expansion of the region, (2) analyze the level of people's satisfaction with urban services, and (3) analyze the determinants of the variables that determine what level of people's satisfaction urban services. This study concluded that first, after the expansion, the quality of urban services in South Tangerang City is better than before. Secondly, however, public satisfaction with the services only reached 48.53% (poor scale). Third, by using a Cartesian Diagram, the second priority that must be addressed are: (1) clarity of service personnel, (2) the discipline of service personnel, (3) responsibility for care workers; (4) the speed of service, (5) the ability of officers services, (6) obtain justice services, and (7) the courtesy and hospitality workers.
