In the era of digital technology, the internet has its significant role in sprouting vulnerability toward the different form of addictions and psychiatric disorders as well as providing the platform to manage them effectively. The internet provides ready access to illicit drugs, nonprescription medications which facilitate a sale of controlled substances over the Internet without a valid prescription which contributed to the rise of several forms of addictions. Studies have linked the severity of Problematic Internet Use to increase chances of substance Use disorder. Utilization of internet for longer durations serves as a booster for behavioral addictions like online gambling. Web based interventions on the positive side provides a cost effective, readily accessible and user-friendly platform to reach out majority of patients to help them in seeking treatment of Addictions and various psychiatric disorders. The aim of this chapter is to discuss the contribution of the internet in a positive and negative way to develop as well as resolve Psychiatric disorder.

With a web-based online accounting system version 2.0, companies can be given the ease to manage money in and out of the company's cash. It has a user friendly system with navigation that makes it easy for the financial management to use it. Starting from the creation of a company's cash account used as a cash account and corporate bank account on the system, deletion or filing of cash accounts, up to the transfer invoice creation feature, receive and send money. Businesses and governments continue to expand the use of the internet to access and provide a wide range services to consumers. This change in service delivery presents a potential access barrier for people who do not have access to the internet available in their homes. Publicly available computers attempt to bridge this gap; however, it is not clear if people are willing to use computers in these environments to engage in the full range of web-based activities, particularly online transactions. We expand Triandis’ modified TRA model to consider user characteristics and the impact of the physical and virtual environment on public transactional use of websites. Results indicate that people are sensitive to the physical environment surrounding the computer and that Internet self-efficacy supports public transactional use while individual need for privacy deters transactional use in a public environment. In addition, people without personal internet access do complete transactions at other non-public locations and that completing transactions from non-public locations is a strong determinant of public transactional use.

Increasingly, parents are looking to the Internet for information and advice about parenting. This presents an opportunity to broaden the reach and availability of evidence-based parenting support in an extremely cost-effective manner if we can harness the power of the Internet to deliver engaging and effective interactive programs. Online platforms provide the potential to tailor content and feedback to the user and reduce barriers to participation through ease and immediacy of access, flexibility and self-paced delivery, and increased privacy. This chapter examines the role of technology-assisted delivery of parenting support and discusses challenges in providing evidence-based parenting programs online. Learnings from research into the Triple P Online family of web-based programs are shared, including implementation issues that influence program outcomes, such as program engagement, dosage, and provision of professional support.

The exponential development of Information Technologies revolutionized healthcare. A significant aspect of this revolution is the access to health information in the Internet. The Internet World Stats estimates that 56.8% of the world population used the Internet in March 2019, an increase of 1,066% from 2000. According to The Pew Research Center survey of 2012 81% of Americans used the internet and 72% of them searched for health information. Even though there is a lack in more recent data on the percentage of online health information seekers, it is clear that this trend is on the rise. This chapter focuses on the characteristics of the search for online health information by patients and providers, investigates features related to the quality of health web sites, and discusses the impact of these searches on healthcare.

Summary Aim. Analyze the impact of several economic and social factors on the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, comparing the latest statistics in large and representative samples. Assess the factors inhibiting the negative consequences of the infectious process of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Materials and methods. To create this review, the required academic and media publications also statistical data were found on the Internet for the selected keywords, both for a single tag and in various combinations of them. Population statistics have been created on the base of data available on the Internet. Results and discussion. The relationship between economic or social factors and the impacts of the 15-month COVID-19 pandemic in different regions was investigated using a variety of available statistics for five continents and 53 countries. A positive relationship was found between the consequences of the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic and GDP per capita or the type of human diet with correlation coefficients in the range of 0.48-0.87. The development of the viral epidemic demonstrates a less clear correlation on population density from r = -0.68 to r = -0.16, depending on the selected group of countries. For island nations, geographic isolation was the dominant defense against SARS-CoV-2 infection. Conclusions. An analytical and quantitative study of economic or social aspects and numerous statistics on the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, carried out on large representative samples, showed that, the productive infection and pathogenicity of SARS-CoV-2, critically increase with an excessive amount of consumed proteins and fats. To successfully control of the progression COVID-19 disease, the WHO guidelines for the amount of macronutrients consumed should be followed. This cost-effective approach will reduce health care expenditures in all countries during the epidemic.

AbstractSomatic structural variants are an important contributor to cancer development and evolution. Accurate detection of these complex variants from whole genome sequencing data is influenced by a multitude of parameters. However, there are currently no tools for guiding study design nor are there applications that could predict the performance of somatic structural variant detection. To address this gap, we developed Shiny-SoSV, a user-friendly web-based calculator for determining the impact of common variables on the sensitivity and precision of somatic structural variant detection, including choice of variant detection tool, sequencing depth of coverage, variant allele fraction, and variant breakpoint resolution. Using simulation studies, we determined singular and combinatoric effects of these variables, modelled the results using a generalised additive model, allowing structural variant detection performance to be predicted for any combination of predictors. Shiny-SoSV provides an interactive and visual platform for users to easily compare individual and combined impact of different parameters. It predicts the performance of a proposed study design, on somatic structural variant detection, prior to the commencement of benchwork. RaDMaX online is a major update to the previously published RaDMaX (radiation damage in materials analysed with X-ray diffraction) software [Souilah, Boulle & Debelle (2016). J. Appl. Cryst. 49, 311–316]. This program features a user-friendly interface that allows retrieval of strain and disorder depth profiles in irradiated crystals from the simulation of X-ray diffraction data recorded in symmetrical θ/2θ mode. As compared with its predecessor, RaDMaX online has been entirely rewritten in order to be able to run within a simple web browser, therefore avoiding the necessity to install any programming environment on the users' computers. The RaDMaX online web application is written in Python and developed within a Jupyter notebook implementing graphical widgets and interactive plots. RaDMaX online is free and open source and can be accessed on the internet at https://aboulle.github.io/RaDMaX-online/.
