The emergence Web 2.0 technologies has transformed e-commerce into social commerce. The benefits associated with social commerce are well known. However, for businesses to reap such benefits, the factors that influence user intention to use social commerce must be understood. However, existing studies draw samples from developed countries. Given that geography and cultural factors affect technology adoption, findings from existing studies may not apply in the developing country context. This study therefore investigates the factors that influence user intention to use social commerce in developing countries. A survey questionnaire was used to gathered responses from 614 students in Ghanaian universities and analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results indicate that information quality, system quality, and service quality have significant influence on user intention to use social commerce. The findings point out the need to provide relevant support to users and ensure accurate and reliable information on social commerce platforms.

The influence of information systems (IS) on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has enjoyed much attention by managers and policy makers. Despite the hype and eagerness to commit extensive levels of investment, very little research has focuses on assessing the benefits of IS for SMEs in developing counties. Existing literature has been skewed towards developed countries and large organizations. Consequently, the purpose of this paper is to develop a model for evaluating the benefits of IS for SMEs in Saudi Arabia as a case of a developing country. In order to achieve this, the study builds on and extends past IS-impact literature. Based on quantitative results of 365 responses from SMEs, the model comprises 44 measures across five dimensions: ‘Individual impact’, ‘Organisational impact’, ‘System quality’, ‘Information quality’ and ‘Vendor quality’. Applying confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model, the validated model contributes to theory development of IS impact within the context of SMEs in developing counties. Additionally, it provides critical insights to policy makers and managers on assessing the benefits of IS for SMEs in developing countries.

BACKGROUND Telemedicine is a system using telecommunication technologies to diagnose, treat, and monitor patients by healthcare physicians and specialists in many developing countries such as Kuwait. Telemedicine services have proven to be successful in reporting and tracking patient records, delivering, real time monitoring, providing correct medications, and early detection of clinical decline. Covid-19 pandemic period have reinforced telemedicine system’s benefits even more in Kuwait. OBJECTIVE The objective of this study is to investigate factors influencing patients’ continuance intention to use telemedicine after the COVID-19 pandemic in the medical sector of Kuwait. METHODS The updated Delone and Maclean (2003) model was utilized to investigate the aforementioned factors. As such, this research applied quantitative research methods with a sample of 290 participants from patients in Dar Al Shifa Hospital, a private hospital in Kuwait which utilizes telemedical services called ‘Sehaty online’. The corresponding data was analyzed using SmartPLS. RESULTS The findings of this study revealed that the relationship of both telemedicine’s information quality and system quality with patient’s satisfaction are significant with (β = 0.377, t = 5.612, P < 0.001), (β = 0.295, t = 4.397, P < 0.001) respectively. While the relationship of service quality and patient’s satisfaction is not significant with (β = -0.056, t = 0.894, P > 0.05). patient’s satisfaction relationship with patients’ continuance intention to use telemedicine found to be significant with (β = 0.403, t = 8.732, P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS It has been concluded that information quality and system quality have a positive and significant influence on patient’s satisfaction, whereas service quality has an insignificant influence on patient’s satisfaction. Also, patients’ continuance intention to use telemedicine is found to be significantly impacted by their satisfaction.

This research addresses difficulties in measuring e-commerce success by implementing the DeLone and McLean (D&M) model of IS success (1992, 2003) in an e-commerce environment. This research considers the influence of quality on e-commerce success by measuring the information quality and system quality attributes of an e-commerce system and the intention to use, user satisfaction and intention to transact from a sample of respondents. This research provides an empirical e-commerce application of the updated IS success model proposed by DeLone and McLean (2003). This paper found significant relationships between Information Quality and System Quality and three success dimensions: intention to use, user satisfaction and intention to transact. It found the following constructs to be most important in predicting success: ease of understanding, personalisation and reliability. In particular, that reliability is more important than usability where transactions are concerned and security though important, is not the most important factor.

Choiceboards are Web-based systems that allow consumers to customize their orders. The study investigated factors that affect consumers’ intention to use choiceboards. The research is based on Masons’ theory and DeLone and McLean’s model of information system use. It was found that intention to use is affected by overall satisfaction. In turn, these two factors are positively impacted by factors such as system quality and information quality. In spite of support from theory, the evidence for the factor, information presentation was weak.

Information technology (IT) can either increase or decrease the ‘digital divide.’ Developing nations, such as Samoa, can leverage their economies with investment in IT, but investment is often determined by past information systems (IS) success. Exploratory research was conducted into the assessment and measurement of IS success by small and medium sized enterprises in Samoa, and the effect on IT investment. It was found that information quality, system quality, use, user satisfaction and financial impacts were the main dimensions according to which success was assessed, while intention to use, and cultural impacts were not usually assessed. Culture acted more as a moderator of the assessment. Measurements focused more on system related measures. Assessment on all dimensions impacted on future investment in IT.

PurposeThis study proposed a theoretical model to understand user intention to use social commerce (SC) of an emerging market based on social experience and social technology. The SC scope was limited to the third-party Social Network Sites utilized by the vendor to establish social interaction and communication with and among the customer about commercial activity.Design/methodology/approachA total of 750 Indonesian respondents were used to examine the research model using online and offline self-administered questionnaires.FindingsThe findings from the final model showed Perceived Enjoyment from the social technology factor has the most substantial direct effect on behavior intention in SC followed by the direct effect of Perceived Usefulness, the indirect effect of content quality, and social presence. Meanwhile, from social experience, the perceived herd was found to have a strong immediate effect on intention, followed by the direct effect of emotional support and indirect effect of subjective norms.Originality/valueConcerning SC study in emerging markets, the previous research also explored user intention from social and technical aspects, especially with the focus on consumer's desire to purchase. Meanwhile, the focus of this study was to investigate the determinant of social interaction intention by engaging in the SC community, which differs from prior research.

PurposeIn any developing country, the critical benefits for ensuring proper utilization of e-government learning services have basically emerged from the integration of underlying processes – not only across different levels of government but also across different functions and agencies. The literature showed a notable lack of research to underline the limited use of e-government learning services in a university setting. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine students' intention to adopt e-government learning services in a developing country. Precisely, the existent to which reputation, social influence, information quality and system quality of e-government learning services would influence students' trust, perceived usefulness and perceived learning values was investigated.Design/methodology/approachThe effect from these variables on students' intention to use e-government learning services was also investigated. A total of 406 questionnaires were collected and analyzed using partial least squares (PLS) modeling.FindingsThe results showed varying relationships between the study's variables. It is anticipated that understanding these relationships can predict future learning trends of e-government learning services use among university students, thus helping decision makers plan ahead, prioritize tasks and make better decisions.Originality/valueKnowledge about students' intention to use e-government learning services is even useful for the implementation of other services by higher education institutions. This study also offers some implications for practitioners and researchers concerned about the application of e-government in students' learning development.

This study aims to examine the factors that encourage young consumers who intend to adopt mobile banking (m-banking) facilities in the current digital era. The empirical testing of the intention of m-banking adoption is based on the perspective of users who are included in the criteria of young consumers in developing countries. Young consumers in developing countries are potential markets for m-banking services in the digital era that demand the effectiveness and efficiency of banking transactions. These young consumers tend to have high mobility and are more aware of the development of m-banking technology to fulfil their needs and wants using easy, fast, and practical banking transactions. By using a purposive sampling technique, as many as 290 young consumers (18-30 years old) of m-banking in Indonesia were chosen as respondents of this study. The data is analysed using the structural equation modeling (SEM) technique. The results showed that all factors that were thought to have a positive effect on the intention to use m-banking among young consumers supported the empirical data. The antecedent factors tested included attitude, perceived usefulness, service quality, system quality, and trust. Internal factors of m-banking users, namely attitude, perceived usefulness, and trust have a greater influence on the intention to use m-banking than external factors. The external factors are in the form of supports provided by banks to m-banking users, namely service quality and system quality.
