This research aims to analyze the implementation process of new knowledge management tools (KMT) in an Italian university as a result of the emergency challenges (COVID-19). The processes of academic knowledge transfer (AKT) and knowledge management tools (KMT) are undergoing rapid changes due to technological innovation and new user requirements. Universities are obliged to offer educational and training courses through distance learning technologies and e-learning platforms. The research adopts a research-action approach to analyze the case study. The results of this research show that the extensive use of KMT and e-learning requires new approaches for the creation of educational content on the part of professors; on the other hand, the implementation of these new technologies requires the redesign of the knowledge transfer processes to meet the requirements of web connection and the quality of teaching materials which are shared with many students at the same time.

New technologies, increasingly demanding customers, new aggressive competitors, and innovations in products and value now characterize our current competitive environment. Organizations of the 21st century have no choice but to invest in new technologies, especially knowledge management tools to enhance their services and products in order to meet the demands of today’s information-driven, globally competitive marketplace. Knowledge embedded in systems, brains and technology has always been the key to economic development. However, knowledge management is increasingly being viewed as a strategy to leverage a firm’s knowledge and best practices to serve customers and to be competitive. Several organizations have already started experimenting with knowledge management initiatives to capture and capitalize on knowledge assets and thereby claim the enormous benefits afforded by such endeavors, including improved profitability and transformation of their businesses into new generation businesses. This chapter develops a technology assessment model for knowledge management indicating what kinds of computing and communication systems any organization needs in order for it to have a sound knowledge management approach.

At present time educational and scientific organizations face dynamic and competitive environments that urge for innovation in their knowledge transfer processes. For that, they can count on a set of tools and techniques to better manage knowledge. Thus, the objective of this study is to suggest Knowledge Management tools and techniques that favor the transfer of knowledge in the development of organizational processes. The study carried out in the lato sensu postgraduate sector of a university located in the south of Brazil which started its activities 30 years ago, has a qualitative and exploratory character, as the methodological procedures employed were documentary research and an ethnography study. The primary data was collected through participant observation. The findings show that there are three major organizational processes in Educational institutions: "enrolling students", "accompanying students" and "operationalizing classes". Those processes involve 18 activities resulting in the fragmentation of knowledge. Thus, six Knowledge Management tools and techniques were suggested to support knowledge transfer in the organizational processes namely: benchmarking, practical community, collaboration tools, lessons learned, best practices, and storytelling.

the article presents the experience of planning the content, forms, conditions and procedure for conducting entrance tests of the admission campaign of 2020 for educational programs of a creative orientation in the context of preventing the spread of a new coronavirus infection – in a remote format. This format of the introductory tests is new for educational organizations and requires detailed study. As a methodological tool for solving the problem, a competent-oriented approach was made, which made it possible to determine the content and provide for an objective assessment of special competencies that ensure the incoming success of the educational program of a creative orientation. Within the framework of this approach, it is proposed to divide the creative test procedure into two periods, allowing the applicant to do creative work offline without interaction with members of the examination committee and in real time online, with indirect (at a distance) interaction between applicants and members of the examination committee. The results of this work enrich the experience in the implementation of the educational process using e-learning and distance learning technologies and can be used during the period of intermediate certification in the implementation of educational programs of any level related to the implementation of creative work.
