Introduction. Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) caused by incorrect working posture among dentists is a serious issue and one that leads to decreased productivity and quality of life. Aim. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of MSDs caused by postural errors in dental healthcare professionals on the body’s center of gravity through a new and innovative technique – baropodometry. Methods. In this study we included 3 oral healthcare specialists with over 20 years experience of practicing in orthostatism, with confirmed work-related MSDs, and performed a baropodometric analysis on them. Results. According to the analysis, all 3 test subjects had alterations of the body’s center of gravity, with uneven distribution of pressures on the feet being recorded by the baropodometer.  Conclusion. In an effort to maintain a good field of view and workplace in orthostatism, the subject is forced to adopt an non-ergonomic position that leads to uneven weight distribution, shifted center of gravity that eventually cause musculoskeletal disorders.

One of the major problems faced by the Algerian economy is sustainability. This is because the economy is essentially hydrocarbon-based. Since 2001, Algeria has adopted a new strategy to strengthen and diversify the economic sector in order to reduce poverty and ensure sustainable development. This study aims to highlight the impact of these reforms on the development and the level of well-being. For this purpose, we carried out an econometric study over the period (2001-2013) in order to ascertain the impact of the creation of SMEs on the improvement of the quality of life which is measured in this test by the HDI. We found that the strategy adopted by the Algerian state for the creation and promotion of SMEs in Algeria has a positive impact on the state of development of the country and the level of well-being of the population.

Purpose Growing inequality and socioeconomic and environmental degradation concerns forces us to think about how innovative technologies can contribute to reduce this problem. This study aims to analyze the potential of social cryptocurrencies to enhance the community development and cooperation between small businesses of the near environment. The evolution of these technology-based schemes could be key factors for generating innovative social enterprises, improving the quality of life in the community; in this way generate a conceptual model to sustainable development, while being more transparent, efficient and scalable as they are supported by technological applications. Design/methodology/approach Based on an in-depth study of the relevant literature, a conceptual model was designed. The concept of social cryptocurrency is proposed as a new approach to virtual currencies for social purposes and sustainable development. Findings The key findings point out that actors such as innovation and social entrepreneurship will come together in a new generation of social currencies, extending cryptocurrency technology to social business domains. Research limitations/implications The impact of this will result in a better quality of life for society and the achievement of several sustainable development goals. However, a limitation would be that its scope depends on certain characteristics of the local environment. Furthermore, the proposed model will require validation in later phases through social experiments. Originality/value The main contribution of this paper is in structuring a formal model that, based on empirical experiences and the use of the technology that underlies cryptocurrencies, proposes a set of constituent elements and characterizes them to contribute to achievement of sustainable development.

The urban development covers the consensus of a wide range of activities and is aimed at equivalent coordination of the impact of economic, social and environmental factors on planning. Due to different attitudes and interests planners and scientists find it rather complicated to come to a common and widely acceptable attitude towards urban development patterns through harmonization of forms and development principles. The paper includes the theoretical attitudes, related to future insights, into the urban development conceptions. Moreover, assessing the impact of the economic paradigms on urban visions, the paper analyses the influence of development concepts on the qualities of development forms as well as on the creation of future urban alternative visions, compatibility with the principles of sustainable development and proper quality of life. The price of real estate is addressed as one of the key social indicators and the ones that reflect the quality of life. The theoretical provisions, with the help of expert evaluation, are verified taking the districts of Vilnius as an example and considering qualities and forms, population, jobs, area, noise level and pollution of individual districts on the basis of different components. Conceptual modelling principles are applied to determine critical values of the indicators that characterize the sustainable development. Based on them, a system is created that helps to define features of individual urban districts, potential development alternatives and achievable allowed marginal values of the quality of life.

City is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change because of the large population, the intensive usage of infrastructure and a lot of economic activities. In addition, lifestyle and activity of urban communities, which neglect the impact of energy consumption, tend to increase the concentration of greenhouse gas involved in global warming. Improving the environment and the quality of life become the responsibility of all stakeholders, including the higher education institutions. They are the ones who have the contribution to conserve the environment. Sustainable Campus is a concept that began to develop in the world as a response to the environmental degradation which is integrated into the campus policy. This study proposes to compare the sustainable development policy within the Tertre campus, University of Nantes-France and Tembalang campus, Diponegoro University-Semarang, Indonesia. The material of this study was constituted through the interviews with the main stakeholders, as the key personnel in the field of sustainable development. In summary, we can conclude that the best sustainable development policy in the campus must be integrated into the environmental management, the improvement of the quality of life of the university community, and the strengthening of the economy, as well as engage in partnerships with all the stakeholders.

The purpose of the article is to substantiate the methodology for determining the European quality of life index. The theoretical and methodological basis of research is the ideas of the interdependence of life quality and sustainable development. To achieve the desired goal, the following research methods were used: analysis and synthesis (for determining theoretical and practical aspects of ensuring the life quality); statistical (for determining standardized indicators and a European Quality of Life Index for Sweden and Ukraine); abstract-logical (for theoretical summarization and conclusion). As a result, the authors created the European Quality of Life Index based on the comparison of the characteristics of international life quality assessment systems (calculation principle, number and composition of indicators, number of countries covered for calculation), as well as systematization of research by Ukrainian and foreign authors. Therefore, the authors selected twelve main indicators. The indicators are divided into two groups: stimulants (prosperity index, basic human needs index, welfare bases, availability of nutrition and basic health care, GDP per capita, population, global competitiveness index, personal security, access to basic knowledge, ecosystem status) and disincentive (government debt, unemployment). To determine the “European life quality index”, the authors used the formula for calculating the arithmetic mean, as all selected indicators can be considered equivalent as a result of standardization by the method of “minimum- maximum”. In addition, for in-depth analysis, the authors calculated the growth rates of indicators, as well as coefficients of variation. The authors made calculations based on data of 2013–2019 for two countries, namely Sweden and Ukraine. Sweden occupies a much better position in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, so studying the impact of life quality on sustainable development in this country will suggest ways to achieve the chosen strategic priorities for Ukraine.

The subject of this research consists in elaboration of the formalized assessment methods of the impact of reputation capital of the region upon the quality of life of the population. The object of this research is the Republic of Tatarstan. The authors substantiate the need for examining the nontraditional productive factors that determine the impact of economic development of the territories in the conditions of globalization of reproduction processes. It is underlined that at the current stage of development, it is important in the models of economic growth to take into account reputation potential of the region as one of the crucial generators of socioeconomic development in the context of digitalization of economic relations. Particular attention is turned to the questions of assessment of cumulative indexes of reputation of the territories, which form the foundation for formation of econometric models. Based on the proposed methods and approaches, the authors develop a model that in a formalized way allows determining the degree of impact of reputation capital of the region upon the parameters and dynamics of the income per capita as a paramount indicator of the quality of life. Application of the proposed methodological tools allowed substantiating the prospects, reasonableness and relevance of using with regards to the models of regional economic growth the exogenous factors, which characterize the level of development of nonmaterial factors of production. The obtained results prove the substantial correlation between the analyzed statistical arrays. It is established that augmentation reputation capital of the territories is an important task in the era of digitalization and globalization.

Background. The behaviour of physical education (PE) teachers in managing the lesson is significantly related to their life satisfaction (Bahadir, 2013). PE teachers’ self-report of emotional abilities is positively associated with the educational achievements of their students and increasing teachers’ self-report of emotional abilities improves the quality of physical education (Buns & Thomas, 2016). High self-report of emotional abilities reduces the impact of work-related stress on teachers, increases their creativity in classroom activities and increases students' satisfaction with physical activities (Huang, Liu, Hsieh, & Chang, 2015). The aim of this study was to evaluate physical education teachers’ self-report of emotional abilities and subjective quality of life in comparison with teachers of other subjects, so that in the future more effective measures for improving teachers’ self-report of emotional abilities and subjective quality of life could be developed.Methods. To collect data, Schutte SSRI and SF-36 questionnaire survey was applied.Results. We found that, according to some sub-scales, men and women were significantly (p < .05) different in the estimation of their subjective quality of life. Women scored better (higher scores) than men in their physical performance, emotional state, energy/fatigue, and perceived pain.  In this study, we revealed significant correlations between social skills and appraisal (r = .305, p < .01), emotional well-being and appraisal (r = .214; p < .05), and energy/fatigue and appraisal (r = .209; p < .05). The data obtained in our study revealed that male and female teachers evaluated their ability to understand and analyze emotions and manage emotions differently (p < .05).Conclusions. Teachers’ self-report of emotional abilities differed significantly by appraisal and utilization and by the subject taught, which differed in optimism, appraisal, and utilization. Significant (p < .05) differences in subjective quality of life were found by gender in to physical functioning, emotional well-being, energy/fatigue, and pain. There was no significant difference found in subjective quality of life by the subject taught. Keywords: physical education, teacher, self-report of emotional abilities, subjective quality of life.
