The Moroccan handicraft is threatened by the loss of its knowledge and several authorities are calling to safeguard this cultural heritage through a detailed transcription and development of an interactive multimedia system. In response to this call, this article represents a first step in addressing this need. It provided a basic methodology for building a craft memory which will be considered as a benchmark for handicraft knowledge preservation. The study focuses on identifying the most critical and vulnerable know-how and modelling the knowledge which needs to be retained. To do so, a methodological framework is proposed and validated through a case study on the Moroccan zellige craft. The methods used here are derived from the world of Knowledge Management (KM) and Knowledge Engineering (KE); in particular, MASK method, GAMETH and M3C. Nevertheless, their systematic application is not perfectly adapted, it needs to be in accordance to the craft characteristics and the artisan's profile which is the key point of the current study.

With increasing concerns about global warming, and the cement plants emitting huge CO2, it is necessary to know how the CO2 emits and how much the CO2 emits due to cement manufacture in both direct and indirect ways. A precise method to calculate CO2 emissions including three processes was established in this paper and a case study was provided. From the case of LQDX plant, we can see the amount of CO2 emissions at the right level. The summary of CO2 emissions is consisted by emissions from raw materials, fuels and electricity. The direct CO2 emissions are 0.822 ton CO2 per ton clinker, and the total CO2 emissions are 0.657 ton CO2 per ton cement in this study. Therefore, the way that CO2 emissions due to cement manufacture was pictured and then measured. An approach provides a basic framework to identify various situations in different cement plants in China and other in the rest of the world. The framework would be useful in quantitatively evaluating CO2 emissions for government to know precisely CO2 emissions in cement plants.

The millennial generation is in the range of 23 to 38 years, which is now a productive and attractive workforce group. It is interesting to be studied where one of their characteristics is prioritizing Work-Life-Balance. It is a term where the generation prioritizes a balance between the world of work and personal life compared to previous generations. They tend to choose jobs that are more flexible in terms of conditions and working hours. So they can have more free time with friends, family, or to develop a hobby as it is stated in the results of research conducted by Ng Schweitzer and Lyons (2010). It is reinforced by the statement that the characteristics that describe the next millennial generation are that they would rather spend money to get certain experiences rather than save to add assets. Of course, millennials generally prefer to travel around Indonesia and the world rather than save for investment. This research aims to: 1) Determine millennial's motivation for traveling; 2). Know how traveling is favored by millennials. The research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological tradition where the data are collected by conducting in-depth interviews. The results of this study provide information about the demographic and psychographic data of millennials, which can be necessary for traveling and tourism businesses to understand who is the target in a pleasant and profitable business.

Demand for niobium and tantalum is increasing exponentially as these are essential ingredients for the manufacture of, among others, capacitors in technological devices and ferroniobium. Mine tailings rich in such elements could constitute an important source of Nb and Ta in the future and so alleviate potential supply risks. This paper evaluates the possibility of recovering niobium and tantalum from the slags generated during the tin beneficiation process of mine tailings from the old Penouta mine, located in Spain. To do so, a simulation of the processes that would be required to beneficiate and refine both elements is carried out. After tin carbothermic reduction, the slags are sent to a hydrometallurgical process where at the end niobium oxide and tantalum oxide are obtained. Reagents, water and energy consumption, in addition to emissions, effluents and product yields are assessed. Certain factors were identified as critical, and recirculation was encouraged in the model to maximize production and minimize reagents use and wastes. With this simulation, considering 3000 production hours per year, the metal output from the tailings of the old mine could cover around 1% and 7.4% of the world annual Nb and Ta demand, respectively.

The change in the accounting method from single entry to double entry in the 15th century has been tried to explain by the influence of some different issues such as the appearance of capitalism or by the contact of Italy with other peoples. However, none of them has been able to do so satisfactorily. That is why this work, tries to show how this accounting change could be pushed by a paradigm shift: the philosophical and religious perception of the world and its passed from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. It will be seen using a qualitative methodology which helps to know how the methods of charge and discharge and double entry respond to the prevailing ways of thinking in which they developed. The first one, can be associated with a Theocentric thought, typical of the Middle Ages, and the second one, double entry bookkeeping, philosophical viewpoint that are the are the most important entity in the world, which is characteristic of the Renaissance.

The principal aim of this work is to prescribe creativity into the renovation and reconstruction process in architecture. This issue connects both petrified past and unknown future with the simple idea of preventing local heritage and Portuguese legacy. The field of our research and creative design will be the Rua da Madalena (Madalena Street) in Lisbon downtown – Baixa Pombalina. The case study and estimated results would serve as a prototype for more innovative thinking about renovation of urban tissue and buildings for similar examples. Following the latest economic trends, the rebirth of traditional forms of business and interest for local heritage, we will attempt to bound raw numbers with endless sources of our creative minds. This case study, presented in the Heritage versus Tourism Conference in Lisbon, in May 2016 would be a step-by-step, a “know-how” example for many streets with various ambient over the world. Hence, the architectural and aesthetic values would be presented first, mathematical marketing formula afterward. The equation would involve both tangible and intangible factors and would be our attempt to introduce creative thinking as a ground for concrete, visible consequences. Architecture is a field, where this attempt could succeed.

The hypothesis that there is an inextricable link between comic book superheroes and suffering would, to anyone with a cursory knowledge of superhero characters found in DC, Marvel, Image, Wildstorm and other houses, and their histories, ostensibly seem valid. This validity depends on which character one is applying said hypothesis to; the psychological and physical suffering of a Batman being more acceptable as such than that of a Plastic Man, for example. However, using DC Comics character Superman as a case study, this paper explores the inextricable link between Otherness, power, and suffering within the remit of the character's mythos. In order to do so, this paper refers to psychoanalytic concepts elaborated by Sigmund Freud in his text Beyond the Pleasure Principle (1922) as a way of demonstrating that despite the character's conventional appraisal as a positivist humanistic symbol of pure altruism, an insuperable, unimpeachable symbol of selflessness and good morality, there is in fact a fundamental link between Superman's 'tridentity' of selves (Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman), the character's own suffering, and human suffering on a terrestrial scale, as represented within the numerous realities of the DC Comics Multiverse.

This paper was designed in order to know how far skills needed for the future manager (according to the literature) correspond to what managers' students perceive as important, and how courses of a management training program perceived contributing in performing a managerial job effectively. Data were collected from a sample of 190 managers from the public sector, who participated in the Bar Ilan University (Israel), managerial training program, from 1986/87 to 1989/90. The participants were requested to complete an attitude survey questionnaire. Findings largely reflect the world of the future manager mentioned in the literature. As regarding the usefulness of the managerial training program to job performance, findings indicate that the management training program correspond only partially to what is needed for performing one's job effectively. Too much time was devoted to transmitting knowledge rather than indoctrinating skills.

Kasenian réak is a regional variant of the Javanese horse dances from Bandung, Indonesia. Commonly known in the archipelago as jaranan, kuda lumping or jathilan, the Javanese horse dances are a group of ceremonial musical performances during which a group of performers, led by a trance master, undergo voluntary possessions on behalf of spirits of the ancestors and other supernatural beings, under the influence of a musical ensemble. In different possession and trance phenomena around the world recognizing the acting spirit is often the key to communication with the supernatural being and treatment of the possessed. Thus, more or less different and precise taxonomies may be developed in order to do so. In réak, the possessed behaviour is interpreted by the trance master and members of the group in order to meet the spirit’s various demands and act accordingly to manage the possession. The purpose of this article is to examine the spirits’ taxonomies at play in réak as a case study. I do this in order to show in which sense analyses of the phenomenon of possession based on classification often fail to grasp the complexity and thus the significance of the experience. The outcome will underline which benefits can be obtained by a an approach that gives more value to a context-based ethnography of the possessed and its peculiarities than to the development of a general theory of possession with comparative purposes.
