Vibration effect is a major inducing factor of loess slope hazards and the basis of revealing loess slope mechanism, which often changes loess structure and decreases loess strength. Based on the GDS Lab System, the dynamic triaxial test was performed by using equivalent sine wave under strain controlling. The results are described as follows: ① there is an obvious phenomenon of stress relaxation during the cyclic loading test on Malan loess, and the degree of stress relaxation decreases with the increase of confining pressure and dynamic strain. Under the low confining pressure, Malan loess reaches certain strain only by small dynamic stress within 2% strain ranges. Under high confining pressure, Malan loess will also reach certain strain value by small dynamic stress within 1% strain ranges. At the same time, with the increase of confining pressure, the peak value of dynamic stress increases gradually. ②The dynamic failure stress of Malan loess increases linearly with the increase of confining pressure. The correlation coefficient is 0.99 and the linear regression equation is бd = 0.001б3 + 0.019. ③On the basis of Molar Coulomb failure criterion, the index of dynamic strength was c =3.36kPa, φ=16°. In comparison with the static strength, the internal friction angle decreases significantly while the cohesion slightly.

Paleosol is an important factor affecting the stability of loess slope, and its mechanical properties, deformation and failure mechanism are still under in-depth exploration and research. Here based on the GDS Lab System, using equivalent sine wave progressively loading mode of strain controlling, in order to reveal the dynamic strength characteristics of Paleosol under the vibration effect. The result show that:① there is an obvious phenomenon of stress relaxation during the cyclic loading test on Paleosol; Paleosol is high-consolidated clay, when the given confining pressure less than the natural confining pressure, the degree of stress relaxation increased at first and then decreased,to the contrary first decreased and then increased.② under the 50kPa、80kPa、100kPa confining pressure, the dynamic failure stress of Paleosol is 0.176kN、0.2302kN、0.2555kN,the dynamic failure stress increases linearly with the increase of confining pressure. The correlation coefficient is 0.9009 and the linear regression equation is бd=0.001б3+0.0958.③ On the basis of Molar Coulomb failure criterion, We obtained the index of dynamic strength of Paleosol, which was C=25.63kPa and φ=14º, by Molar Circle. In comparison with the static strength, the internal friction angle and cohesion decreases significantly, show that the Paleosol have obvious characteristic of brittle.

Lishi loess is an important component of loess slope. To explore the structure and strength change characteristics of Lishi loess caused by shock (vibration) action, and to reveal the mechanism of loess slope catastrophe, the dynamic triaxial test was performed by using equivalent sine wave under strain controlling. The results show that:① There is an obvious stress relaxation phenomenon during the same cyclic loading test, the degree decreases with the increasing of dynamic strain and confining pressure. And the influence of dynamic strain variation on stress relaxation degree is less under high confining pressure than under low confining pressure;② Under a confining pressure of 40kPa, within 1% strain ranges, the needed dynamic stress to reach the specified strain is just 0.01kN, and the peak stress decreases with the augmentation of dynamic strain, when peak stress increases to 0.204kN, the sample is destructed; Under a confining pressure of 90kPa, soil radial particles are closely spaced, within 2% strain ranges also only a dynamic stress of 0.01kN is needed to reach the specified strain, and with the increase of dynamic strain, the samples are destructed when dynamic strain increases to 0.267kN. The dynamic failure stress of Lishi loess increases gradually with the increase of confining pressure, and the linear regression equation is бd=0.0011б3+0.1590, the correlation coefficient is 0.9944. ③According to Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion, the strength parameters of Lishi loess in somewhere of the north of shaanxi are C=30.33kPa,φ=14°. Under the dynamic shearing action, the dynamic effective strength parameters are obviously less than static effective strength parameters, this indicates that the soil consolidation effect reduced and the particles displaced and occluded each other.

Through the laboratory dynamic triaxial test of sandy pebble soil, evolution law of influence of confining pressure and vibration frequency on dynamic strength is analyzed. Analysis indicates that dynamic stress of sandy pebble soil improves in a large degree with accretion of vibration frequency, dynamic strength of which increases significantly with confining pressure rising, and relation of dynamic stress and dynamic strain can also be symbolized with the R.L.Kondner hyperbola curve. Meanwhile, dynamic elastic modulus of sandy pebble soil decreases with growth of dynamic strain, while increases with growth of consolidation pressure.

The dynamic properties of subgrade materials are critical factors affecting stability within the traffic engineering discipline. Remolded red clays are frequently used as subgrade filling materials, however, to date, a paucity of data exist on to the dynamic properties of this material. Accordingly, a large number of dynamic triaxial tests under cyclic loads were carried out to quantify the suitability of remolded red clay as subgrade filling. Several potentially influencing dynamic factors were considered, including dynamic stress, vibration frequency, consolidation confining pressure, consolidation ratio and compactness. Plastic strain and dynamic strength curves of remolded red clays under varying dynamic loads and load histories have been developed, in addition to the inclusion of those influencing factors. Test results show that within the range not exceeding the inherent strength of the test samples, increases soil compactness, confining pressure, and vibration frequency serves to enhance overall dynamic power in concurrence with retarding the development of accumulated plastic strain. Conversely, an improvement in the amplitude of the dynamic stress and consolidation ratio was shown to cause a decrease in dynamic strength and acceleration in the development of accumulated plastic strain. An empirical equation relating critical dynamic strength and load histories of remolded red clay has been developed for the provision of fundamental reference data for future studies.

An improved passive confining pressure SHPB method was used to study the dynamic mechanical behaviors of asphalt concrete under quasi-one dimensional strain state. The effect of confining jacket material and its geometrical sizes on the confining pressure were discussed. The dynamic strength, dynamic modulus of elasticity and dynamic Poisson ratio of asphalt concrete were obtained. The influential rules of confining pressure on the dynamic properties were studied by comparing the stress-strain curves of asphalt concrete under different stress states. The study found that passive confining greater impact on the strength of asphalt concrete than elastic modulus and Poisson ratio, but the elastic modulus improved with the increase of confining pressure.

Combined with the silty soil characteristics of the Yellow River alluvial plain and the subgrade filling of Ji-He expressway, the paper discusses silty soil, stabilized silty soil strength and stress-stain characteristics through the indoor triaxial shear test. The results show that the remodeling silty soil has obvious peak, brittle failure, low residual strength after being destroyed and the stress-strain curve shows a softening type in confining pressure 100kPa lower stress level. In the confining pressure 400kPa higher stress level, soil samples peak is not obvious, mainly plastic failure and the stress-strain curve is close to a hardening type. Compared to mixed with 8% lime, stabilized silty soil of mixed with 4% cement and 4% lime shows that the partial stress peak is more obvious when destroyed and the residual strength is drastically reduced and more incline to brittle failure. In different the age, compared to mixed with 8% lime, stabilized silty soil of mixed with 4% cement and 4% lime shows that internal friction angle becomes larger and cohesion improves gradually whose amplitude is much larger than internal friction angle. Therefore, a more effective way to stabilize the silty soil of the Yellow River alluvial plain is to select silty soil mixed with 4% cement and 4% lime.

The study on hydromechanical coupling properties of rocks is of great importance for rock engineering. It is closely related to the stability analysis of structures in rocks under seepage condition. In this study, a series of conventional triaxial tests under drained condition and hydrostatic compression tests under drained or undrained condition on sandstones were conducted. Moreover, complex cyclic loading and unloading tests were also carried out. Based on the experimental results, the following conclusions were obtained. For conventional triaxial tests, the elastic modulus, peak strength, crack initiation stress, and expansion stress increase with increased confining pressure. Pore pressure weakened the effect of the confining pressure under drained condition, which led to a decline in rock mechanical properties. It appeared that cohesion was more sensitive to pore pressure than to the internal friction angle. For complex loading and unloading cyclic tests, in deviatoric stress loading and unloading cycles, elastic modulus increased obviously in first loading stage and increased slowly in next stages. In confining pressure loading and unloading cycles, the Biot coefficient decreased first and then increased, which indicates that damage has a great impact on the Biot coefficient.

The distribution of chlorine saline soils is extensive in Haixi region of Qinghai Province in Northwest China. Its natural and geographical conditions are unique, and the external environment varies greatly. To study the effects of variable external environment on the mechanical characteristics of chlorine saline soils, a number of unconsolidated undrained (UU) dynamic triaxial tests under different confining pressure, moisture content, and loading frequency were carried out. The dynamic stress–dynamic strain, failure strength, dynamic elastic modulus, and parameter of shear strength were analyzed. The triaxial test results demonstrated that the stress–strain curves of the soil were strain-hardening. The failure strength and dynamic elastic modulus increased with the increasing of confining pressure; the law with moisture content and loading frequency were inconsistent. The dynamic cohesion and dynamic friction angle increased with the increasing of loading frequency, but decreased with the increasing of moisture content. Besides, the significance analysis theory was used to analyze the effect degree of different factors. It found that the effects of confining pressure, loading frequency, and the interaction between confining pressure and frequency on mechanical characteristics were significant, but the moisture content had less effect.

Aiming to explore the optimal mixture ratio and curing age of solidified muddy soil under dynamic load, the paper intends to investigate whether the solidified muddy soil can be used as filling of high-speed railway subgrade. Based on the dynamic triaxial test, the investigation measured the dynamic strain and dynamic elastic modulus of solidified muddy soil under different mix ratios and curing ages, and also observed the microscopic morphology of solidified muddy soil samples by using scanning electron microscope. The results show that the addition of cement and curing agent significantly increases the dynamic strength and elastic modulus of muddy soil, which effectively improve the dynamic characteristics of muddy soil. The curing effect of the curing agent is more obvious with the increase of the dosage of cement and curing agent under different mix ratio. The content of curing agent plays a leading role in the hydration reaction between cement, curing agent and soil particles. Additionally, in case of the same test conditions, when the ratio of cement mass to dry silt mass is 1:20, the ratio of diluent volume to dry silt mass is 1:20, with 28 days of curing age, its curing effect will reach the best.
