In modern football games, a player's skill to lob for the goal is no less than critical as sometimes it is the difference between victory and defeat. In the process of executing a lob shot, following factors are to determine whether the shot is going to be successful: Distance from ball to goal—a, distance from the player to goal—b, height of the goal—h, maximum height the goalkeeper can reach—h, initial velocity of the ball V0, horizontal angle (emergence angle), air resistance and whether the goalkeeper moves in the process. In search of the ideal position to lob, the thesis has three discussions with models established respectively

It is very difficult to confirm the position of the center of gravity irregular object. This paper introduces a new system, which can be used in measuring and adjusting of the center of gravity. The irregular object was put on the support parts, then the center of gravity was given. When the actual position was compared with the ideal position, the difference was given. Until actual position and ideal position were coincided, the machining was continuing. Matlab was programmed in this measure system. It will be applied widely in the future.

ABSTRACT Background: Grip strength after wrist arthrodesis is reported to be significantly less than normal. One of the reasons suggested for this decrease in grip strength is that the arthrodesis was performed in a suboptimal position. However, there is no consensus on the ideal position of wrist fusion. There is a paucity of studies evaluating the effect of various fixed positions of the wrist on grip strength and therefore, there is no guide regarding the ideal position of wrist fusion. The authors’ aim was to determine the grip strength in various fixed positions of the wrist and subsequently to find out in which position of wrist fusion the grip strength would be maximal. Materials and Methods: One hundred healthy adults participated in the study. For the purpose of this study, the authors constructed splints to hold the wrist in five different fixed positions: 45, 30 and 15 degrees of wrist extension, neutral and 30 degrees of wrist flexion. The grip strength in all the participants was measured bilaterally, first without a splint and then with each splint sequentially. Results: The average grip strength without the splint was 34.3 kg for right and 32.3 kg for the left hand. Grip strength decreased by 19–25% when the wrist was splinted. The maximum average grip strength with a splint on was recorded at 45 degrees of extension (27.9 kg for right and 26.3 kg for left side). There was a gradual increase in the grip strength with increase in wrist extension but the difference was not statistically significant (P = 0.29). The grip strength was significantly less in flexed position of the wrist (P < 0.001).

Abstract Background The aim of this study was to provide an information about the homogeneity on the level of enterokinase productivity in P. pastoris depending on different suppliers of the media components. Results In previous studies, we performed the optimisation process for the production of enterokinase by improving the fermentation process. Enterokinase is the ideal enzyme for removing fusion partners from target recombinant proteins. In this study, we focused our optimization efforts on the sources of cultivation media components. YPD media components were chosen as variables for these experiments. Several suppliers for particular components were combined and the optimisation procedure was performed in 24-well plates. Peptone had the highest impact on enterokinase production, where the difference between the best and worst results was threefold. The least effect on the production level was recorded for yeast extract with a 1.5 fold difference. The worst combination of media components had a activity of only 0.15 U/ml and the best combination had the activity of 0.88 U/ml, i.e., a 5.87 fold difference. A substantially higher impact on the production level of enterokinase was observed during fermentation in two selected media combinations, where the difference was almost 21-fold. Conclusions Results demonstrated in the present study show that the media components from different suppliers have high impact on enterokinase productivity and also provide the hypothesis that the optimization process should be multidimensional and for achieving best results it is important to perform massive process also in terms of the particular media component supplier .

AbstractThe optimal placement within 3 degrees in coronal alignment was reportedly achieved in only 60 to 80% of patients when using an extramedullary alignment guide for the tibial side in total knee arthroplasty (TKA). This probably occurs because the extramedullary alignment guide is easily affected by the position of the ankle joint which is difficult to define by tibial torsion. Rotational direction of distal end of the extramedullary guide should be aligned to the anteroposterior (AP) axis of the proximal tibia to acquire optimal coronal alignment in the computer simulation studies; however, its efficacy has not been proven in a clinical setting. The distal end of the guide can be overly displaced from the ideal position when using a conventional guide system despite the alignment of the AP axis to the proximal tibia. This study investigated the effect of displacement of the distal end of extramedullary guide relative to the tibial coronal alignment while adjusting the rotational alignment of the distal end to the AP axis of the proximal tibia in TKA. A total of 50 TKAs performed in 50 varus osteoarthritic knees using an image-free navigation system were included in this study. The rotational alignment of the proximal side of the guide was adjusted to the AP axis of the proximal tibia. The position of the distal end of the guide was aligned to the center of the ankle joint as viewed from the proximal AP axis (ideal position) and as determined by the navigation system. The tibial intraoperative coronal alignments were recorded as the distal end was moved from the ideal position at 3-mm intervals. The intraoperative alignments were 0.5, 0.9, and 1.4 degrees in valgus alignment with 3-, 6-, and 9-mm medial displacements, respectively. The intraoperative alignments were 0.7, 1.2, and 1.7 degrees in varus alignment with 3-, 6-, and 9-mm lateral displacements, respectively. In conclusion, the acceptable tibial coronal alignment (within 2 degrees from the optimal alignment) can be achieved, although some displacement of the distal end from the ideal position can occur after the rotational alignment of the distal end of the guide is adjusted to the AP axis of the proximal tibia.

This chapter discusses the difference between a nonsecular or religious critique of religious ethics and politics and a specifically secular critique. It introduces the central notion of a secular critique, autonomy, and its two types, moral and political. Moral autonomy entails the separation of religion from ethics. The ideal of making that separation is called “moral secularism.” The opposite of moral autonomy is “moral heteronomy.” An extreme case of moral heteronomy is discussed: Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his own son when God commanded him to do so. Next, the importance of political autonomy and political secularism is illustrated with reference to the conflict between the king Ahab (the model of a secular ruler) and the prophet Elijah (the model of a religious leader). Some stories in the holy scriptures of the monotheist religions held in common by Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are unfavorable toward secularism (both moral and political).

SummaryA full-matrix, three-dimensional refinement of kalsilite, KAlSi04 (hexagonal, a 5·16, c 8.69 Å, P6a), shows that the silicon and aluminium atoms are ordered. The respective tetrahedral distances of 1·61 and 1·74 Å agree with values of 1·61 and 1·75 Å taken to be typical of framework structures. As in nepheline, an oxygen atom is statistically distributed over three sites displaced 0·25 Å from the ideal position on a triad axis. This decreases the bond angle from 180° to 163° in conformity with observations on some other crystal structures. The potassiumoxygen distances of 2·77, 2·93, and 2·99 Å are consistent with the wide range normally found for this weakly bonded atom.

This article indicates the scope of the formula for determining the magnitude of the lateral displacement of the projectile under the action of crosswind, which is used in the compilation of firing tables. This formula is valid under the following conditions: the force of frontal air resistance to the motion of the projectile is proportional to the its velocity squared; wind speed components are much smaller than the horizontal component of projectile velocity; the projectile velocity projections on the Oy and Oz axes are much smaller than the projections on the Ox axis; the dimensionless coefficient of resistance and the magnitude of the crosswind are constant values. However, in reality, the force of frontal air resistance to the motion of the projectile is only sometimes proportional to the its velocity squared; the projectile velocity projections on the Oz axis may be are much smaller than the projections on the Ox axis and may even be greater than it; the coefficient of resistance is depends on the value of the Makh number, so it can be considered constant only when shooting at short distances. The authors propose a mathematical model for determining the magnitude of the lateral displacement of the projectile under the action of crosswinds. It is believed that the force of the crosswind on the projectile depends on the following factors: air density; the maximum area of the longitudinal section of the projectile; the difference between the value of the lateral component of the wind speed and the speed of the lateral displacement of the projectile, which is raised to a certain power. The magnitude of the values of the lateral displacement of the projectile under the action of the crosswind when shooting at short distances, determined based on the proposed mathematical model, slightly differ from the values of the lateral displacement specified in the firing tables. However, with increasing firing distance, the difference between these values is constantly increasing and the value of the lateral displacement of the projectile determined theoretically is much larger than indicated in the firing tables. In addition, in this research the influence of the tank velocity on the value of the projectile lateral displacement taking into account the action of the crosswind is studied.

The Endotracheal and Enteric Tubes chapter addresses these frequently used medical devices. An endotracheal tube (ETT) is a catheter placed into the airway for mechanical ventilation. It serves to protect the airway and provide adequate gas exchange. The ideal position of the endotracheal tube tip is approximately 5 cm above the carina. Complications of ETT placement include inadequate ventilation if placed too high or too low, esophageal intubation and tracheal injury. Tracheostomy tubes are used in patients who require long-term intubation. Enteric tubes are thin flexible hollow catheters that course into the stomach and beyond. They may be placed via nasal (nasogastic) or oral (orogastric) approach. When used for suctioning, the ideal position of the tube tip is within the stomach. When used for administration of drugs or nutrition, the tube tip is ideally advanced beyond the pylorus. Enteric tube malposition may be due to coiling within the esophagus or inadvertent malposition within the airway. Malpositioning could result in aspiration, lung injury, and pneumothorax.

Mental health is an umbrella-like concept encompassing the psychological, emotional and social equilibrium of an individual. Today we are confronted with an ever increasing incidence of mental illness. The individual is unable to adapt and his reactions are unacceptable, inappropriate and inadequate. The community nurse plays a very important role in the prevention of mental illness and the promotion of mental health. The community nurse comes into contact with many people in the community such as the infants, school children, mothers as well as the aged. She is in the position to identify the earliest signs of mental illness and she is also in the ideal position to promote mental health. She plays a role at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels of prevention and must therefore be adequately trained and prepared for this very important function.
