This paper illuminates a new type of precision cropping process method with rotary striking action. The new process makes use of a controllable circumferential strike on a metal bar with a V-shaped notch. The working principle of the machine is described. Different types of metal bars have been tested, and both bad results and successful results were stated in the paper. The most ideal control mode has been obtained. The experimental results show that the new cropping process can crop bars with different materials and diameters. In some cases, it can be directly used in the subsequent industrial production.

This paper discloses a method for producing nanofibers by a needleless electrospinning process based on the metal (card) clothing. 20% w/w polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution was employed to demonstrate the feasibility of this new electrospinning technology. Different types of metal clothing were used to produce PVA nanofibers under different voltages in the experiments; theoretical analysis of this new electrospinning method was also carried out to understand the experimental results. The results indicated the great potential for scaling up this new avenue for producing nanofibers through electrospinning, especially when medium sized clothing was used in the new process.

Many researchers have suggested improving the retention of a user in the digital platform using a recommender system. Recent studies show that there are many potential ways to assist users to find interesting items, other than high-precision rating predictions. In this paper, we study how the diverse types of information suggested to a user can influence their behavior. The types have been divided into visual information, evaluative information, categorial information, and narrational information. Based on our experimental results, we analyze how different types of supplementary information affect the performance of a recommender in terms of encouraging users to click more items or spend more time in the digital platform.

A new type of six-bar swaying machine was put forward, which is an ingenious combination of plane multi-bar mechanism and high pressure oil cylinder. Preliminary analysis shows that this machine has many advantages, such as the torque produced by its unit weight, its small size, its light deadweight, etc. Thus it can be applied to situations that need swaying mechanism with low rotational speed and great torque. Firstly, the mechanism composition and working principle of the swaying machine were introduced. Secondly, parameterized modeling of the mechanism was carried out by utilizing software ADAMS. Then kinematic analysis and kinetic analysis were completed by using ADAMS. Finally, key dimensions were adjusted according to kinetic analysis. These tasks are believed to be beneficial to the development of the novel transmission.

The mechanical behavior of multi-cracks under compression has become a very important project in the field of fracture mechanics and rock mechanics. In this paper, based on the previous theoretical results of the failure criterion for brittle materials under compression, experiment study is implemented. The specimens are square plates and are made of cement, sand and water, and the cracks are made by using a very thin film (0.1 mm). The relations of material compressive strength versus crack spacing and the lateral confining stress are obtained from experimental results. The experimental results agree well with the failure criterion for brittle materials under compression, which indicates that the criterion is effective and applicable.

Cylindrical shells under axial compression are susceptible to buckling and hence require the development of enhanced underlying mathematical models in order to accurately predict the buckling load. Imperfections of the geometry of the cylinders may cause a drastic decrease of the buckling load and give rise to the need of advanced techniques in order to consider these imperfections in a buckling analysis. A deterministic buckling analysis is based on the use of the so-called knockdown factors, which specifies the reduction of the buckling load of the perfect shell in order to account for the inherent uncertainties in the geometry. In this paper, it is shown that these knockdown factors are overly conservative and that the fields of probability and statistics provide a mathematical vehicle for realistically modeling the imperfections. Furthermore, the influence of different types of imperfection on the buckling load are examined and validated with experimental results.

Small composite desiccant wheels based on ceramic are designed and developed. The experiments test the influence of the rotating speed and wheel thickness on the dehumidification performance. Furthermore the dehumidification performance of the composite desiccant wheel is compared with the silica gel wheel. The experimental results show increasing the rotating speed of the desiccant wheel can improve the moisture removal capacity. Compared with the silica gel wheel, the moisture removal amounts of the thin composite desiccant wheel are about similar with that of the thick silica gel wheel. It is further indentified that the new composite desiccant wheel can reduce the size of the dehumidifier and has more potential for residential building field.

Li-ion power battery which has a broad prospect of application in many industry fields is a new type of high power battery. The formation-testing and sorting-packing are necessary processes in battery manufacture. Currently the process of formation almost takes the way of monomer battery, then sorting and packing by measuring the parameters of its internal resistance, voltage and capacity. The operation is complicated and the amount of data is huge. On account of the problem, we propose a new process of battery modularization. It can greatly reduce the workload of the parameter testing when using the optimized process. And batteries can get a good consistency, which is favor of sorting-packing and production automation.

The ir spectra of mixtures of methyl propionate/water and methyl propionate/Ba2+ in dimethylsulfoxide and in acetonitrile have been recorded in the region of the νCO mode of the ester. Evidence is presented to indicate the presence of different types of complexes; their concentration was determined as a function of the composition of the medium. The spectroscopic results are compared to those from the kinetics of the alkaline hydrolysis in the same conditions. It is demonstrated that the orbital control explains the experimental results better than does the charge density on the carbon of the carbonyl group. [Journal translation]

To solve the problem of low material utilization in traditional stretch forming process, a flexible stretch forming method was proposed, which can be realized by interaction of the multi-point stretch forming die with discrete-gripper stretch forming machine. The principle and characteristics of sheet metal flexible stretch forming technology was introduced, structural composition and working principle of the multi-point stretch forming die and discrete-gripper stretch forming machine were expounded, and the technology experiments was carried out with a self-designed flexible stretch forming technology equipment for sheet metal. The experimental results indicate that structure of multi-point stretch forming die and discrete-gripper stretch forming machine are reasonable, and flexible stretch forming technology can be realized by above-mentioned die and machine, stretch forming parts has a good quality and its shape error can satisfy requirements of production.
