In this paper, a novel piezoelectric actuator structure - 4-9-9-14 piezoelectric actuator is constructed, and it is made of piezoelectric buzzer to drive a piezoelectric actuated stage. The 4-9-9-14 piezoelectric actuator offers a better balanced capability of forward rotation and reverse rotation than the conventional edge-driving piezoelectric actuator. According to the rotational speed experiment, the CW/CCW ratio of the 4-9-9-14 piezoelectric actuator is probably 1:0.8. The movement of the pie-zoelectric actuated stage is read and analyzed by means of data acquisition card and LabVIEW software operating in conjunction with a linear encoder. In a natural environment, plenty of noise interferes with linear encoder signals and results in erroneous addition performed by a counter. Therefore, the LabVIEW program set forth the means of filtering and the method for retrieving a correct position signal.

In this paper, a novel thin-disc piezoelectric actuator, 4-9-9-14 piezoelectric actuator, is used to construct and drive the micro/nanometer level biaxial piezoelectric actuated stage. The 4-9-9-14 piezoelectric actuator offers a better balanced capability of forward rotation and reverse rotation than the conventional edge-driving piezoelectric actuator. The biaxial piezoelectric actuated stage structure comprises a base, a V-shaped guide rail, an optical scale measurement system, a preload adjusting structure, and a load-carrying stage. The movement signals of the piezoelectric actuated stage are read and analyzed by means of NI PCI-6115 data acquisition card and LabVIEW software operating in conjunction with a linear optical scale. The new consideration of tuning Ton time is used in place of the traditional method of changing the magnitude of driving voltage to control the stepping distance of the stage. A combined driving signal is based on the sum of a continuous driving signal for Ton time and a DC signal for Ton time; the combined driving signal is continuously output in this manner to form a continuous driving pulse chain. Under a constant driving voltage, the displacement of the stage increases with Ton time and the displacement of the stage decreases with Ton time.

Abstract - Control and monitoring of the rotational speed of a wheel (DC motor) in a process system is very important role in the implementation of the industry. PWM control and monitoring for wheel rotational speed on a pair of DC motors uses computer interface devices where in the industry this is needed to facilitate operators in controlling and monitoring motor speed. In order to obtain the best controller, tuning the Integral Derifative (PID) controller parameter is done. In this tuning we can know the value of proportional gain (Kp), integral time (Ti) and derivative time (Td). The PID controller will give action to the DC motor control based on the error obtained, the desired DC motor rotation value is called the set point. LabVIEW software is used as a PE monitor, motor speed control. Keyword : LabView, Motor DC, Arduino, LabView, PID.

The poor loading performance of shearer drums restricts the development and production efficiency of coal in thin coal seams. Changing operation and structural parameters can improve the drum’s loading performance to some extent, but the effect is not obvious. A two-segment differential rotational speed drum (TDRSD) was proposed after analyzing the drum’s influence mechanism on coal particles. To further reveal the drum’s coal loading principle, the velocity, particles distribution, and loading rate were analyzed. The effect of the matching relationship of the rotational speed and helix angle between the front and rear drum are also discussed. The results show that a lower front drum rotational speed had a positive impact on improving the loading performance, and the loading rate first increases and then decreases with the increase in rear drum rotational speed. The optimal loading performance was obtained in the range 60–67.5 rpm. The front drum’s helix angle had no evident effect on loading performance, and the loading rate increase with the increase in the rear drum’s helix angle. The results provide a reference and guidance for operation parameters selection, structure design, and drum optimization.

This paper puts forward a method to control the industrial robots based on the NI Corporations LabVIEW virtual instrument technology. By designing the communication protocol between the LabVIEW software program on PC and industrial robots, the LabVIEW program can take the control of industrial robots by using RS232 serial ports, including the operation instructions' transmission, the feedback of the robots' running, and the data exchange between the two. The result shows that can effectively realize the motion control of industrial robots based on LabVIEW.

The conventional energy meters are not suitable for long operating purposes as they spend much human and material resources. Smart meters, on the other hand, are devices that perform advanced functions including electrical energy consumption recording of residential/industrial users, billing, real-time monitoring, and load balancing. In this chapter, a smart home prototype is designed and implemented. Appliances are powered by the grid during daytime, and a photovoltaic panel stored power during the night or in case of an electricity outage. Second, consumed power from both sources is sensed and further processed for cumulative energy, cost calculations and bill establishment for different proposed scenarios using LABVIEW software. Data are communicated using a USB data acquisition card (DAQ-USB 6008). Finally, a simulation framework using LABVIEW software models four houses each equipped with various appliances. The simulator predicts different power consumption profiles to seek of peak-demand reduction through a load control process.

In order to facilitate dynamic analysis of spindle, improve the vibration characteristics of the spindle and achieve the goal of control of spindle motion stability. A spindle vibration testing system is developed with necessary sensor, signal conditioner and data acquisition card based on Labview software in this paper. The spindle vibration testing and analysis system is formed based on virtual instrument graphical programming language Labview. The hardware is reduced in testing process. At the same time, acquisition, processing and analysis for vibration signal are realized, and the costs of hardware are greatly reduced. The testing work is made more convenient and quick by this system, and test is made more intuitive by its real-time display function. It will provide a scientific basis for searching for measures to reduce the spindle vibration and developing a new generation of mechanical structure of the spindle.

The theory of fiber Bragg grating demodulation system based on unbalanced Mach-Zehnder (M-Z) interferometer is introduced. A novel design for demodulation of fiber Bragg grating sensor system based on the LabView Software is proposed and demonstrated. The system is obtained by making use of piezoelectric ceramic (PZT) technology achieving phase carrier modulation. Carrier signal is collected by data acquisition card(DAQ), and the phase modulation of signal is detected by discrete fourier transform(DFT). It realizes real-time demodulation for multiplexed sensing system.

This paper presents the results of laboratory tests in which evaluation was performed regarding the effect of selected operating factors on the vibroactivity of upper gearbox housings made of three different fiber reinforced polymer composite materials with diverse layouts (cross and random) and types of reinforcing fibers: glass fiber and carbon fiber. The results of tests for composite housings were compared with those for a steel housing. The tests showed that composite housings had a weight lower by more than 60% compared to the steel housing. A multisensor measuring system consisting of vibration acceleration transducers, a directional microphone and a data acquisition card with software was used for the study. Tests of the vibroactivity of upper gear housings were carried out at different loads and rotational speeds of toothed gears. The study showed that composite housings are less sensitive to changes in the rotational speed that steel housings. The tests showed that at a higher rotational speed of the gear transmission, housings made of composite materials had a comparable or lower level of vibration. Tests and analyses of the vibroactivity of housings performed at different loads of the gear allow the conclusion that composite housings, despite a considerably lower weight than steel housings, are less sensitive to changes in the load of the gearing.
