In order to monitor the heart rate changes of patients with cardiovascular disease, a wireless ECG system based on the GSM network is developed in this paper. The data captured by cardiotachometer will be transmitted to mobile phones via short-range data transmission, to HR data monitoring center via short message of GSM. In which, the expert diagnostic system analyzes those data and put the results back to the user, especially those cases such as instantaneous tachycardia and cardiac arrest. This may be avoid some life-threatening events occurrence.

Short Message Service (SMS) is a technology that provides service for sending and receiving messages between cell phones. Every individual, government, private or educational institution cannot be separated from using SMS as one of the information media. One of them is meeting notification information. But SMS technology can only carry limited data. SMS Gateway is a system that bridges mobile phones with the system that becomes a server with SMS as the information. In the SMS Gateway work system, the user's cellular phone sends an SMS containing the written format to access the information needed through the GSM network. The SMS will be received by the SMS Gateway cellular phone which will then be retrieved by the PC using the mfbus protocol via a data cable. Up to the PC, the text format will be processed by the SMS Gateway application program to produce information that will be sent to the SMS Gateway cellular phone using the mfbus protocol via a data cable. After that the information is sent by the SMS Gateway cellular phone to the user's cellular phone. With the SMS Gateway-based meeting notification application, it can provide detailed and concurrent notification of meeting information so that each meeting member can follow according to his schedule.

Solar photovoltaic (PV) is one of the prominent sustainable energy sources which shares a greater percentage of the energy generated from renewable resources. As the need for solar energy has risen tremendously in the last few decades, monitoring technologies have received considerable attention in relation to performance enhancement. Recently, the solar PV monitoring system has been integrated with a wireless platform that comprises data acquisition from various sensors and nodes through wireless data transmission. However, several issues could affect the performance of solar PV monitoring, such as large data management, signal interference, long-range data transmission, and security. Therefore, this paper comprehensively reviews the progress of several solar PV-based monitoring technologies focusing on various data processing modules and data transmission protocols. Each module and transmission protocol-based monitoring technology is investigated with regard to type, design, implementations, specifications, and limitations. The critical discussion and analysis are carried out with respect to configurations, parameters monitored, software, platform, achievements, and suggestions. Moreover, various key issues and challenges are explored to identify the existing research gaps. Finally, this review delivers selective proposals for future research works. All the highlighted insights of this review will hopefully lead to increased efforts toward the enhancement of the monitoring technologies in future sustainable solar PV applications.

Mobile network signal is the basic coverage along the highway, and the GSM mobile communication technologies provide a powerful and reliable short message service and data transmission services, a variety of applications based on GSM data transmission platform is also being developed. The paper focuses on highway visibility detection and speed detection, system is constitute of a communication unit that uses the TC35i module and STC89C54 single chip, As well as hardware and software design of the method, GSM precautions in the design process of the highway system are briefly described.

Sensor nodes are exceedingly energy compelled instrument, since it is battery operated instruments. In wsn network, every node is liable to the data transmission through the wireless mode [1]. Wireless sensor networks (WSN) is made of a huge no. of small nodes with confined functionality. The essential theme of the wireless sensor network is energy helpless and the WSN is collection of sensor. Every sensor terminal is liable to sensing, store and information clan and send it forwards into sink. The communication within the node is done via wireless network [3].Energy efficiency is the main concentration of a desining the better routing protocol. LEACH is a protocol. This is appropriate for short range network, since imagine that whole sensor node is capable of communication with inter alia and efficient to access sink node, which is not always correct for a big network. Hence, coverage is a problem which we attempt to resolve [6]. The main focus within wireless sensor networks is to increase the network life-time span as much as possible, so that resources can be utilizes efficiently and optimally. Various approaches which are based on the clustering are very much optimal in functionality. Life-time of the network is always connected with sensor node’s energy implemented at distant regions for stable and defect bearable observation [10].

This study implemented a mobile diagnosing system that provides user-centered interfaces for more precisely estimating and diagnosing engine conditions through communications with the self-developed ECU only for industrial CRDI engine use. For the implemented system, a new protocol was designed and applied based on OBD-II standard to receive engine data values of the developed ECU. The designed protocol consists of a message structure to request data transmission from a smartphone to ECU and a response message structure for ECU to send data to a smartphone. It transmits 31 pieces of engine condition information simultaneously and sends the trouble diagnostic code. Because the diagnostic system enables real-time communication through modules, the engine condition information can be checked at any time. Thus, because when troubles take place on the engine, users can check them right away, quick response and resolution are possible, and stable system management can be expected.

The modern society is prone to many life-threatening diseases which if diagnosis early can be easily controlled. The implementation of a disease diagnostic system has gained popularity over the years. The main aim of this research is to provide a better diagnosis of diabetes. There are already several existing methods, which have been implemented for the diagnosis of diabetes. In this manuscript, firstly, Polynomial Kernel, RBF Kernel, Sigmoid Function Kernel, Linear Kernel SVM used for the classification of PIDD. Secondly GA used as an Attribute selection method and then used Polynomial Kernel, RBF Kernel, Sigmoid Function Kernel, Linear Kernel SVM on that selected attributes of PIDD for classification. So, here compared the results with and without GA in PIDD, and Linear Kernel proved better among all of the noted above classification methods. It directly seems in the paper that GA is removing insignificant features, reducing the cost and computation time and improving the accuracy, ROC of classification. The proposed method can be also used for other kinds of medical diseases.

The Municipality of La Paz (MLP) has been a pioneer municipal institution in applying Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for its benefit and the benefit of La Paz’s citizens in the last 10 years. In 2009 the Government of the Municipality of La Paz (GMLP) developed a new Master Plan, with the objective to further improve its management and to further reduce bureaucracy and corruption. This Plan consisted of several elements, one of them related to ICT, was the introduction of 18 new Web Services of which 9 are Web Geographical Services and 9 are Mobile Short Message System (SMS) Services. This Chapter presents how the MLP developed into a modern and efficient institution while providing services and information to its citizens through these e-Government initiatives and ultimately through the use of mobile phones using SMS. Municipalities and governments in general that are applying mobile services and information are now called “Mobile Governments” or “M-Governments”.

Currently, data communications used in the monitoring and scheduling system of urban water supply network can be simply divided into wireless and wired. While the wireless data communications with network flexibility, less investment, easy maintenance, cost-effective advantages. Therefore, the wireless data communications has become a major data transmission in urban water supply scheduling. The wireless transmission of state parameters in urban water supply pipe network was studied in this paper. This paper presents a wireless monitoring and scheduling scheme based on the short message transmission technology in urban water supply network. It introduced the hardware components of the system, and wireless data transmission software.
