In this paper we analysed application status and reasons of recycled paper, researched physical properties, mechanical properties, optical properties, chemical properties and printing adaptability of recycled paper and tested the important indexes . The test data was compared with ordinary offset paper and there is little difference. The result shows recycled paper can be wildly used for offices, book, paper toys etc.

ABSTRACTIndependent effects of fibre length and strength on the properties of pulp, and on the physical properties of the dry sheets have been demonstrated. Apart from improving formation, which indirectly influences many sheet properties, reducing fibre length has little direct effect on the sheet structural and optical properties, but does reduce mechanical properties. The loss in fibre strength also has little direct effect on the sheet structural and optical properties, but severely reduces those mechanical properties which are controlled by the breaking of fibres. Implications for market pulps are discussed.

The influence of nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) was investigated as a reinforcing agent to improve strength properties of papersheets fabricated from recycled pulp fibers of mixtures of old newspapers, old magazines, and old corrugated cardboards. To determine the effects of the NFC on the mechanical and physical properties of the recycled pulp papers, cellulose nanofibrils (NFC) were isolated from wheat straw, pretreated chemically and enzymatically (NFC-OX), and then added to the bulk suspensions of papermaking pulp slurries at various percentages. The electrokinetic and drainage properties of the pulps and the mechanical and physical properties of the papersheets were analyzed and compared. As expected, the addition of NFC/NFC-OX significantly increased the strength properties of papers. Papers containing 4% of NFC-OX (periodate pretreated) presented higher increases in tensile index (43%) and burst index (59.3%) than other papers. However, a high addition of NFC/NFC-OX increased the water retention, which is undesirable for papermaking. Hence, with optimum selection of NFC/NFC-OX and process conditions, higher mechanical properties could be acquired without increasing drainage rate. Compared to the other pretreated NFC/NFC-OX types, sodium-periodate-oxidized NFC-OX samples significantly increased the mechanical properties of the papers fabricated from the recycled pulps.

Abstract: The industrial use of natural fibre has been continuously increasing since 1996. In the interior of cars, the percentage of fibre-reinforced multi-material parts may reach 40%. Quality management needs standards for measuring reliable physical properties. The aim of the article is to summarise the appropriate and approved methods for measuring geometrical, gravimetrical, and mechanical properties of flax fibre. Test standards are also needed for fibre-reinforced plastics, an additional method is explained and compared with the existing standards. The use of these methods is demonstrated using selected test data.

Deacidification is one of the basic restoration techniques to protect archival records stored in various depositories. This study examines the influence of selected deacidification aids on lignocellulose materials. Samples represent the commonly used pulps in the paper industry. These materials were treated with three deacidification methods in cooperation with National Archive in Prague. We monitored for changes as the optical, mechanical and chemical properties and changes on hypermolecular level. The results showed that the selected deacidification methods affect the surface-molecular and structural properties. The optical properties of the samples didn´t show any decrease of the ISO brightness and the colour coordinates L*a*b*. The values of surface pH were increased as expected. The mechanical properties of the samples was characterised by unitary stiffness, it was observed a significant sample stiffness decrease after treatment with the Bookkeeper and HERCO deacidification methods.

Timber Acacia mangium (Acacia mangium, Willd) for Furniture. The study aims to determine the mechanical and physical properties and the decorative value (color and fiber) wood of acacia mangium with using finishing materials. This type of finishing material used is ultran lasur natural dof ,ultran lasur classic teak, aqua politur clear dof, aqua politur akasia dan aqua politur cherry. After finishing the wood is stored for 3 months. Test parameters were observed, namely, physical and mechanical properties of wood, adhesion of finishing materials, color and appearance of the fiber, and timber dimensions expansion. The results showed that the mechanical physical properties of acacia wood qualified SNI. 01-0608-89 about the physical and mechanical properties of wood for furniture, air dry the moisture content from 13.78 to 14.89%, flexural strength from 509.25 to 680.50 kg/cm2, and compressive strength parallel to fiber 342.1 - 412.9 kg/cm2. Finishing the treatment process using five types of finishing materials can increase the decorative value (color and fiber) wood. Before finishing the process of acacia mangium wood has the appearance of colors and fibers and less attractive (scale scores 2-3), after finishing acacia wood fibers have the appearance of colors and interesting and very interesting (scale 4-5).Keywords: mangium wood, mechanical properties, decorative value, finishing, furniture.

This study aims to gain influence the thickness and concentration variations affect the characteristics of sago binder physical properties of catfish jerky. As well as getting influence the thickness and concentration variations affect the level of binder sago joy panelists in terms of organoleptic test. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance using the Analysis Of Variance (ANOVA). If there is a significant difference followed by a further test of DMRT 5% level (physical properties). While the hedonic test performed using Kruskal Wallis analysis. Results uniformity analysis (ANOVA) showed catfish fillet thickness and concentration of sago affect the physical properties of the water content and the level of violence. Where catfish jerky using sago binder 5% and 10% significantly different. The use of sago binder 5% and 10% led to an increase in water content. Besides the addition of the binder resulted in increasing levels of violence catfish jerky. Based on the statistics found that the influence of the thickness and concentration of the binder sago aroma, flavor and color of the sixth jerky catfish were not significantly different. But the texture was significantly different.
