In order to improve the cutting efficiency of abrasive waterjet (AWJ), the relationship between pre-mixed AWJ cutting depth and pressure was experimentally studied. Then, through analysis of the cutting results, the topographic characteristics and formation mechanism of the cut trough faces were investigated. Moreover, through comparing the effects of different jet pressures on the topographic characteristics of AWJ cut trough faces and the SEM analysis of the cut trough faces at different pressures and depths, the effects of pre-mixed AWJ cutting mechanism on the characteristics of cut trough faces were investigated, and the characteristics of the trough faces of metals cut by pre-mixed AWJ were analyzed.

A finite element model based on Abaqus/Explicit is built. Micro cutting mechanism of Al7075 with different cutting depth is simulated and analyzed. The simulation results show that if the cutting depth is more than 10μm, the chip is a kind of continuous curl. If the cutting depth is less than 10μm, the chip is a kind of feathery squeeze debris. When the cutting depth is very small (3μm), the shape of chips is just like discontinuous wrinkle. By contrasting the simulation results of cutting force with its theoretical values, they have the same result. The model of the chip prediction could achieve ideal simulation results.

The aim of this study is to provide clarity of intellectual capital effects and customer satisfaction as a mediating variable in the relationship between digital marketing for firm performance. The study was conducted on Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Kudus district by taking a sample of 134 SME managers such as owners and operational managers. Through structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis, it is discussed that the mediated hypothesized effect is statistically significant. In other words, intellectual capital and customer satisfaction can bridge the relationship of digital marketing variables to firm performance. This finding helps management in understanding the ability of internal resources to be able to utilize information technology to support the resources they have. Therefore, SMEs must pay attention to factors both internal and external, agreeing to understand the suitability of the firms in determining the most appropriate use of digital marketing.

This study examines coffee shops’ marketing mix and its impact on customer satisfaction and word of mouth (WOM). Also, analyzing customer satisfaction mediates the relationship between the marketing mix and word of mouth. This study used a quantitative approach with 100 sampling of coffee shop’s customers across Malang City. Primary data collection is done by distributing questioner containing several questions using a Likert scale to the respondents, while secondary data is obtained from literature studies. For analyzing the data, this study applied descriptive analysis and statistical analysis employed WarpPLS 7.0 software to perform the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis. This study proves that marketing mix has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, and the same relationship was found between the marketing mix and WOM. An important finding from this study is that customer satisfaction plays a mediating role between marketing mix and word of mouth.

This article raises the question of what role does the presidential institution hold in the Lithuanian foreign policy formation mechanism and how a particular actor (president) can change their powers in foreign policy without going beyond the functions formally defined in the Constitution. The period of President Grybauskaitė’s term and her efforts as an actor to define her role in shaping Lithuanian foreign policy are analyzed. This is assessed in the context of the activities and behavior of former Lithuanian presidents and in the context of relations with other institutions involved in foreign policy making – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the Seimas in particular. This article analyzes the relationship between the actor (Grybauskaitė) and the already established structure of domestic foreign policy formation and the ability of the actor to change this structure. The analysis suggests that it is precisely because of the choices made by Grybauskaite during 2009–2019 that a relationship between the structures of foreign policy making in Lithuania has changed considerably, and that the center of power of foreign policy formation has shifted to the presidency.

Cutting is an effective device to reduce crosswind loads acting on trains. The cutting depth, width and gradient of slope are important factors for design and construction of cutting. Based on numerical analysis methods of three-dimensional viscous incompressible aerodynamics equations, aerodynamic side forces and yawing moments acting on the high-speed train, with different depths and widths of cutting,are calculated and analyzed under crosswinds,meanwhile the relationship of the gradient of cutting slope and transverse aerodynamic forces acting on trains are also studied. Simulation results show that aerodynamic side forces and yawing moments acting on the train(the first, middle and rear train)decrease with the increase of cutting depth. The relationship between transverse forces (moments) coefficients acting on the three sections and the cutting depth basically is the three cubed relation. The bigger is cutting width,the worse is running stability of train. The relationship between yawing moments coefficients acting each body of the train and the cutting width approximately is the three cubed relation. The transverse Aerodynamic forces decreased gradually with the increase of the gradient of cutting slope, the relationship between yawing moments coefficients acting each body of the train and the gradient of cutting slope basically is the four cubed relation.

The knowledge of the promoting variables of dating violence has been a topic much studied in the last decade. However, the definition of the profile of this type of victim still presents numerous unknowns that hinder the effectiveness of prevention programs against violence. This study analyzes the interaction of cognitive, emotional and behavioral variables that converge in the victim profile. The sample comprised 2577 adolescents (55.2% girls) of 14 to 18 years in age (M = 15.9, SD = 1.2). The instruments used were the dating violence questionnaire (CUVINO), the scale of detection of sexism in adolescents (DSA), Mechanisms of Moral Disengagement Scale and Child and Adolescent Disposition Scale (CADS). To study the relationship between the different variables considered in this article, a SEM analysis was used. The results show that victims of gender violence and emotional abuse have high scores in benevolent sexism, moral disengagement and emotionally negative behavioral patterns. Likewise, the existence of an interdependent relationship between these three sets of variables was found.

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a multifactorial disease involving inflammatory processes. Platelets play important roles in both hemostasis and the inflammatory response; however, the relationship between platelet count and OA is unclear. Our aim was to evaluate the association between platelet count and knee and hip OA in Korean women. Methods: In this cross-sectional designed study, we included a total of 6011 women aged ⩾50 years from the 2010–2013 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Knee and hip OA were defined as Kellgren–Lawrence grade ⩾2 and presence of knee or hip pain, respectively. Platelet counts were divided into quartiles as follows: Q1, 150–212 (103/µl); Q2, 213–246 (103/µl); Q3, 247–283 (103/µl); and Q4, 284–450 (103/µl). Multiple logistic-regression analysis was conducted to calculate odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals. Receiver operating characteristic analysis was performed to determine the optimal platelet count cut-off with which to discriminate participants with knee and/hip OA versus those without OA. Results: Of the 6011 participants, 1141 (18.1%) had knee or hip OA. The mean age of participants without OA was 60.6 years, and that of participants with OA was 68.0 years. Compared with the lowest quartile, odds ratios (95% confidence intervals) for OA were 1.08 (0.84–1.39) for Q2, 0.94 (0.73–1.23) for Q3, and 1.35 (1.08–1.69) for Q4 after adjusting for confounders. The prevalence of OA was significantly higher with platelet counts ⩾288 × 103/µl, compared with platelet counts <288 × 103/µl. Conclusion: High platelet counts within the normal range are significantly associated with knee and hip OA.

Abrasive waterjets are being increasingly used in civil engineering for rock and concrete cutting, particularly for the demolition or repair of old structures. The energy of an abrasive waterjet is primarily provided by the accelerated abrasive. The momentum transfer during mixing and acceleration determines the abrasive velocity, which affects the cutting performance. Meanwhile, the geometry of the focus at which mixing occurs influences the momentum transfer efficiency. In this study, the effects of the focus geometry on the optimum abrasive flow rate (AFR) and momentum transfer characteristics in hard rock cutting were investigated. Experiments were conducted using granite specimens to test the AFR under different focus geometry conditions such as diameter and length. The results show that the focus geometry significantly affects the maximum cutting depth and optimum AFR. The maximum cutting energy was analyzed based on the cutting efficiency of a single abrasive particle. In addition, the momentum transfer parameter (MTP) was evaluated from the empirical relationship between the maximum energy and the cutting depth for granitic rocks. Accordingly, a model for estimating the MTP based on the AFR was developed. It is expected that the results of this study can be employed for the optimization of waterjet rock cutting.
