Noise – as a risk factor in the environment – in case it exceeds the intensity limits it becomes a biological aggression factor, a medical and social contaminant with implications of prime importance in terms of health, work capacity and comfort.This research is an objective analysis of noise level and frequency spectrum emitted by gas compressor Compressco CJ 360 in order to identify and develop solutions for noise protection required for the establishment of the environmental conditions in accordance with legal regulations in the area desired by the beneficiary. The research proposes a technical solution for closing the compressor with sound insulation prior to placing it in the desired place, in suitable environmental conditions.

The paper describes how to determine the noise in a production hall where there are production machines and equipment. The chosen plant is a production unit where filling of the polyurethane foam tubes is performed. The main activity is the production of professional insulators and wholesale of other products from the same range enumerating the following: wholesale chemical products; production of professional insulators; trade in chemicals and chemical industry. The recommended maximum admissible value for a normal 8h work program is 85 dB (A). The objective is to determine the level of noise in the factory and how it acts as a physical professional risk factor and its effects on the human body. The way in which the proposed objective was achieved was to determine the value of the noise level with the specialized equipment. Following the determinations that will be presented in the following chapters, appropriate protective measures have been taken.

Population growth in Depok City is large and not in accordance with development land causes many residents’ to build houses with conditions <5 meters from the line of Electric Rail Train or Kereta Rel Listrik (KRL); this causes changes in the quality of the environment, including noise. The objective of this study is to determine the noise level, and the results will be compared with the standard noise level of the residential area; also, to find the influence of noise on residents’. This research was conducted in the area of ​​Rawa Geni Raya Street, 1st Neighborhood, Ratu Jaya Urban Village, Depok City. Noise measurements were carried out at 5-points using a simple method with a noise level measuring instrument (SLM). At one time, the measurement was taken for 10 minutes with a reading time of every 5 seconds. The questionnaire was measured using a Purposive Random Sampling technique, and the number of samples was calculated using the Slovin formula. The results of this study indicate that the 5-point noise level exceeds the recommended threshold according to KEPMEN LH 48 of 1996 and PERMENKES 718/1987 at  55 dB(A). The largest value for the 24-hour noise level (LSM) is at point 1, which is 5 m from the KRL line. The noise level on the weekday is 75.32 dB(A) and 74.24 dB(A) on weekends. According to PERMENKES No 718/1987, the location of point 1 should be included in Area D as an industrial zone, plant, railway station, and bus terminal. The results of questionnaires by 34 respondents showed that the noise generated by KRL was noisy and the majority of respondents agreed the noise affected the comfort level; in terms of health, respondents agreed KRL noise caused sleep disturbances and hearing loss.

Kampar District Mine on February 24, 2015. That there are complaints from the community in Rimbo Panjang village, Kec. Kampar Regency Mine about environmental conditions or smog. The implementation of Eco-Technology can protect the environment of peatlands to maintain sustainability and avoid fire from peatlands and regulate groundwater management on peatlands.

Noise is a sound pollution and its existence is undesirable in a certain level and time, which has the potential to cause human health problems and environmental comfort. One of the causes of noise levels is due to airport operational activities, from landing to take off. For this reason, it is necessary to control the noise around the Sultan Thaha Jambi airport area, by utilizing green open space as a barrier that can reduce noise levels. This study aims to determine the level of airport noise in certain zones and evaluate the existence of green open space (RTH) whether it is appropriate to become a natural barrier as a barrier to reduce noise caused by flight activities from Sultan Thaha Jambi airport. The results showed the noise level dB (A) from flight activities in each zone, namely the lowest in zones 1 and 3, amounting to 52.08 dB (A), and the highest in zone 5 at 87.93 dB (A). , while the existence of Green Open Space (RTH) is only in zone 1, and 3 are forest park areas, and fields around the Sultan Thaha Jambi airport area, so the existence of this Green Open Space (RTH) is able to reduce noise levels by 2.11 dB (A) based on KEP-48 / MNLH / 11/1996 the quality standard of the allowable noise level is 50 dB (A). While zone 5 is a residential area, the noise level figure is quite high, namely 87.93 dB (A), due to the densely populated area, lack of green open space (RTH), and proximity to motorized vehicle transportation activities, and adjacent to the runway. runway airport. However, not all activities are carried out continuously. So that the residential area is still feasible if exposed to noise exposure either from airport activities or other activities.

Sonic crystal acoustic screens have been in progressive research and development in the last two decades as a technical solution for mitigating traffic noise. Their behaviour is quite different from that observed in classical barriers, with the latter being based on physically blocking the direct sound propagation path (only allowing diffracted noise to reach sensible receivers), and sonic crystals providing attenuation efficiency based on the creation of “band-gaps” at specific frequency ranges, due to the Bragg’s interference phenomenon. The distinct physical mechanisms of these two types of noise barriers complicates the use of classical simplified or even numerical models developed for traditional barriers to simulate and predict the attenuation performance of a sonic crystal, and alternative methods become thus required. In the acoustics scientific literature, several authors have proposed estimation and simulation methods based on different numerical tools to predict the sound insulation provided by these new noise abatement solutions. This paper presents a comparative evaluation of some of these methods, with emphasis on the assessment of their accuracy versus memory usage in order to determine which one is the most suitable for optimization methodologies in the design of new devices with improved acoustic performance.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused lockdowns in many countries worldwide. Acousticians have made surveys to monitor how cities became quieter under the lockdown, mainly in central areas in cities. However, there have been few studies on the changes in the acoustic environment due to the pandemic in the usually quieter residential areas. It may be expected to be different from the effect in ‘originally noisy’ areas. Also, the effect could be different in Japan, because the ‘state of emergency’ declaration there was different to lockdowns elsewhere. Considering these circumstances, this article reports the results of noise monitoring and makes some observations on the acoustic environment in residential areas far from city centres, to provide an example of how the acoustic environment was affected by the state of emergency declaration due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan. The results showed that the reduction of noise levels was somewhat less than that reported in large cities. Also, comparing the results after the cancellation of the state of emergency, the noise level increased again. However, observations of noise sources imply that a possible change in human behaviour may have also affected the acoustic environment.

Dalung Permai housing is that has a fairly high trip generation, many had access road leading to the workplace, both working in government, private as well as to schools and shopping centers and entertainment. Ahousingshouldprovideatranquility awayfrom the noisein accordancewith the Decree of the Governor of Bali No.8 Year 2007 on Environmental Quality Standards and Criteria Raw Environmental Damage that thres hold noise level forresidential areasandsettlementsamounted to55dB.The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the traffic, the noise level of traffic, the perception of the population in Dalung Permai housing. Data collected by way of interviews with respondents and direct measurements in the field. Based on the data analysis it is known that the highest traffic volume during rush hour occurred in the morning (07.00 to 09.00) in the segment Jl. Tegal Luwih with volume vehicle as much as 21.599 vehicles, the segment Jl. Dalung Permai and segments Jl. Tegal Permai occurred in the afternoon (05.00 to 07.00) with a total volume of 22.450 and 17.587 vehicles. Instantaneous speed of the average of each type of vehicle ranges between 33-40 km per hour. The main sources of traffic noise is a four-stroke motorcycles with prosenatse average reached 91.61% of the total number of vehicles. The average noise level measured has exceeded the threshold setandar quality standard that ranged from 73.71 to 76.77 dB. In the segment Jl. Tegal Luwih, segments Jl. Tegal Permai and segments Jl. Dalung Permai give the perception that the level of traffic noise in a residential area is disturbing level of comfort.
