The main goal of this paper is to analyze and investigate sustainable practices in small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs). A comprehensive analysis and a mathematical framework are used to assess the sustainability indexes (SDIs) of each aspect/issue and pillar/dimension, and of the whole manufacturing enterprise. Sustainability in the whole manufacturing enterprise is represented by the sustainable development index (SDI). The results show that there is a significant difference in SDIs between aspects and dimensions, with economic sustainability representing the highest percentage in the SDI. Also, the results show that industrial companies are adopting sustainable practices and applying them to most of the issues/aspects of the dimensions, and they can direct manufacturing companies in the industrial sector to develop strategies for sustainability. This paper introduces a new understanding of the practices and implementation of sustainability/sustainable development by SMEs through assessing the SDIs.

Building partnerships with consumers in the industrial market, as well as responsible attitude to doing business contribute to companies’ sustainable development, increasing satisfaction not only of consumers, but also of the society as a whole. The article analyzes various approaches to the problem of enterprises’ sustainable development. A method is proposed for identifying criteria that affect the sustainability of industrial companies’ development, including correlation analysis and the contingency table method. The characteristic of the Russian market of pipe products is presented. The hypothesis about the dependence of the industrial enterprises’ sustainability development on the consumers’ satisfaction in the industrial market with the experience of interacting with a supplier has been tested using the method of mathematical statistics. General principles of partnership were formulated based on the results of the study. The implementation of those principles is aimed at increasing company’s stability in the pipe market.

An important component of successful economic activity of industrial enterprises is the optimal sales model combined with e-commerce opportunities. The article analyzed two construction materials manufacturing enterprises categories: those using exclusively a sales network for the promotion of their products, and those developing a direct sales system to the final consumer via electronic commerce. These are basically two different logistical approaches to the process of selling their own products. The efficiency of using e-commerce logistics means is determined by the correlation of sales expenses index with an indicator of enterprises' net income. It was proved sales expenses' indicator affects the dynamics of the net income indicator positively only for the enterprises using e-commerce logistics as a means of setting up a direct sales channel for their products. The article provides recommendations for creating an optimal logistics e-commerce system for construction materials manufacturing enterprises.

In Pakistan, construction and demolition waste(CDW) is generated in voluminous amount each year. CDW iswidely ill-handled and ultimately fed to landfills causing harm tothe already alarming environmental conditions. In order tosearch for the solution of this drastic matter, a study was done, which is explained in this paper. This paper presents the studydone at a demolition site near Karachi, in Sindh while thedemolition works were being carried out. At the site there wereold barracks which were being demolished. Before the demolitionworks were commenced, the site was surveyed and structuralcomponents of the barracks were counted and their dimensionswere measured. When the demolition was over, the demolishedwaste was calculated which comprised of concrete and masonryrubble, steel round bars, steel doors, steel windows, steel ceiling, steel girders, steel main gate, and plastic water tank. This studyinterpreted that construction and demolition (C&D) works wereprogressing considering the works’ deadline and the clients’requirements but the ecosystem’s ecology and the environmentalhealth were not taken into account. Recommendations are madeto handle CDW properly throughout its lifecycle. Theserecommendations aim to provide technological and logicalsolutions to grip CDW. The recommendations include wastereduction and reusing waste, life cycle assessment and costing, environmental and economic impact, material flow analysis, andadvanced computerized-tools.

This research aimed to identify the level of innovation of sustainable practices by industrial companies. This is a descriptive study that made use of a questionnaire answered by 50 industrial companies. The results show that environmental practices at full level by 68% of businesses are monitoring the risks and opportunities for the organization's activities due to climate change; 56% of companies surveyed are waste separation; followed by the realization of related health and safety training at work in 52% of cases surveyed; and 48% monitoring and recording of injuries, the injury rate, the rate of occupational diseases, lost days, absenteeism and number of work-related fatalities for all workers. Among the practices adopted not stand out incineration (burning mass) (80% of companies surveyed); hiring indigenous and tribal employees (68%); composting (64%) and use of surface water in the process. Therefore, the study contributed to the disclosure cleaner called production innovations and also pipe end technologies. Some social practices that signal a commitment of the organizations with human resources and the humanization and also economical focused on continuous improvement.

This paper presents a method and a model framework for R&D changes planning in manufacturing enterprises, implementing digital transformation projects. The relevance of development of such method is evident because of growing number of factors, influencing the decision-making process and simultaneously the complexity of such influence estimation increases. Classical changes planning methods in such cases do not ensure required level of estimation objectivity and credibility. The objects of research are industrial enterprises, actively engaged in research, design and engineering. The subject of research are methods and models for R&D process changes planning in context of digital transformation endeavors, being implemented in the companies. The research objective is to develop a R&D process planning method, enabling to account for corporate changes, related to digital transformation processes. The proposed method is based on the analysis of the discrepancies between the actual enterprise architecture and the target one and search for possible solution to rectify these discrepancies. For quantitative estimation of the changes, an integral indicator "stakeholder satisfaction level" is proposed. This indicator is calculated using a set of models (a model framework), those preparation and application sequence is defined by the considered method. The paper describes the concept of the method, the problems, being solved within each stage, tools used and final outcomes. The example of planning R&D changes in manufacturing enterprise illustrates the method in work and provides for better understanding of the concepts, presented in the paper.

The purpose of the article is to consider the theoretical foundations, applied aspects, concepts and goals of sustainable development, as well as the study of factors and threats to the sustainable development of Pridnestrovie. Main material. The authors conducted a brief analysis of the main stages of introducing the conceptual apparatus used to assess the degree of world stability as a whole, regions and countries. Various approaches to defining the essence of sustainable development are considered. The author gives an extended interpretation of the "sustainable development" concept, which assumes that it is determined not only by environmental and economic aspects, but also has political, military, informational and other components. Groups and particular examples of indicators that characterize the degree of sustainable development are given. A list of factors that directly or indirectly affect the sustainability of countries and regions has been compiled and analyzed. Hierarchical levels of research on sustainable development issues are highlighted. Emphasis is placed on the study of the features of ensuring sustainable development of regions. Didactic aspects of studying the problems and mechanisms of ensuring sustainable development in educational institutions of different hierarchical levels are also considered. The applied aspects reflected in the article include assessment and analysis of a number of indicators reflecting development sustainability of the Transnistrian region of post-Soviet Moldova. Retrospective, modern and long-term threats to the sustainable development of the Transnistrian region are identified. Conclusions and further research. Some tools (measures) to ensure long-term sustainable development in the context of globalization and high turbulence of the international environment are proposed. Tools aimed at increasing the sustainability of the territorial units’ development of Pridnestrovie, the following are proposed: - diversification and growth of industrialization of economic systems; - preferential support for the development of high-tech material and energy-saving industries; - differentiation minimization of financial and property stratification of the population; - implementation of environmental standards and environmental management (ISO 14000) in industrial enterprises.
