Using China National Knowledge Infrastructure as the retrieve source, research papers of villages overlapping coal resources in recent 48 years are analyzed from the aspects of time distribution, periodical distribution, topic distribution etc. Then the content of research literature is analyzed qualitatively and the research progress is revealed. The results show that: The total amount of literature is less, the gross number is only 331; Besides core journals, the ordinary journals occupies the large proportion among the journals on which the research papers published; It can generally be divided into two research themes, that is coal mining technology under villages and relocation of village overlapping coal resources. Compared with the first, the study of village relocation is weak, and much more study is in a shallow level; The research subject is single, and the technical personnel and workers at the basic level of coal enterprises occupy a large proportion. Although the village relocation involves a lot of land issues, the research of land scholars on this field is not much. To strengthen and broaden the research of relocation of villages overlapping coal resources is the trend of future research in this field. Comprehensive and quantitative research from the land, management, ecology, environment and other multi angle, multi domain, multi discipline should be conducted.

Abstract Home modification has been perceived as an effective method to make current dwelling units more age-friendly and improve the well-being of older adults. In China, a country with an increasing number of older adults, home modification research is still in its infancy. By typing “适老化改造” (home modification for older adults) as a keyword for the theme of articles in China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), the most authoritative and comprehensive database for academic publication in China, only 158 related papers are found to be published until the end of 2017, among which the first was published in 2009. With an aim to determine the current state of home modification research in older adults and to determine what could be done to facilitate sufficient research on this topic, the present study conducted a systematical review of the 158 papers about home modification for older adults published in China between 2009 and 2017. Based on the systematical review, the present paper identifies four barriers to conducting this line of research and puts forward six practical suggestions for future research studies in this area so as to contribute to building age-friendly dwellings and promoting age-friendly China.

In this paper, we present the results of a study of citation and co-authorship networks for articles published at the ASME Design Automation Conference (DAC) during the years 2002–2015. Two topic-modeling methods are presented for studying the DAC literature: A frequency-based model was developed to explore DAC topic distribution and evolution, as well as citation analysis for each core topic. Correlation analysis and association-rule mining were used to discover relationships between topics. A new unsupervised learning algorithm, propagation mergence (PM), was created to address identified shortcomings of existing methods and applied to study the existing DAC citation network. Influential articles and important article clusters were identified and effective visualizations created. We also investigated the DAC co-authorship network by identifying key authors and showing that the network structure exhibits small-world-network properties. The resulting insights, obtained by the both the proposed and existing methods, may be beneficial to the engineering design research community, especially with respect to determining future research directions and possible actions for improvement. The data set used here is limited; expanding to include additional relevant conference proceedings and journal articles in the future would offer a more complete understanding of the engineering design research literature.

Purpose This paper aims to revisit the 1998 paper (“Why do customers switch […]”) published in this journal with the goal of documenting research progress since then and identifying gaps still present in the knowledge base on the relevant key issues. Design/methodology/approach The method is literature review, theoretical scrutiny and critical reflections on the findings of the research studies over the past two decades that deal with customer satisfaction, loyalty and switching behaviors, with particular emphasis on service businesses. Findings The core issue of why satisfaction may not explain loyalty has been examined by positing other co-predictors and moderators of loyalty such as relationship quality, price value, trust, image, etc. These predictors have been found significant, implying that satisfaction is not the only driver of customer loyalty. Additionally, other drivers of switching and staying behavior have been established such as attraction of the alternatives and switching costs, respectively. This paper points out, however, that the gains of the new research literature are attenuated due to assumption of linearity in the loyalty effects of satisfaction and due to a lack of separate analyses of customer segments who defy the satisfaction–loyalty logic. Research limitations/implications The relevant literature is so vast that any account of it within the scope of this paper had to be by design delimited. The paper not only sampled the literature selectively but also summarized the principal findings of the selected papers over-simplistically. Interested readers must get a firsthand read of the reviewed literature. Practical implications The spotlight on the nonlinearity implies that practitioners should analyze customer data separately for customer segments that experience low, moderate and high satisfaction, and also separately for segments that show the expected positive satisfaction–loyalty relationship versus those who would defect despite being satisfied. Originality/value Against the backdrop where most academic as well as industry research had presumed a positive loyalty effect of satisfaction, the 1998 paper drew attention to segments of consumers who exhibited the contrarian loyalty behavior. The present paper shines a light on that topic with even sharper focus, highlighting six unaddressed issues that must frame future research.

China has made remarkable progress in preventing and intervening in domestic violence against women. Scholars have reported on this development. Methodologically, this paper, which draws on 3362 references selected from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure, uses the bibliometric method to summarize the characteristics, evolution, and frontiers of key topics into research on abused women in China between 1993 and 2020. The paper has three key findings. (1) The volume of literature has grown continuously, but in three stages: initial, rapid growth, and peak fluctuation; (2) the topic has five research hotspots: fundamental issues in domestic violence against women; new legislation, notably the 2015 Anti-Domestic Violence Law; social support for abused women; matrimonial disputes involving abused women; and conviction and sentencing of abused women who kill their husbands; and (3) the current research frontiers lie within the defects of the Anti-Domestic Violence Law and challenges in the implementation of the law. In addition, the paper examines characteristics and limitations of the study on abused women in China and suggests changes in practice, policy, and directions for future research.
